EDEN - aftermath and alliance shake up

Day 1,995, 04:39 Published in Norway Norway by ivan.europe

EDEN is no more - this shaked the entire eWorld to its foundatations. The oldest alliance ever in eRepublik announced its dissolvement after all original members(Romania, Croatia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Spain and Poland) left and EDEN has been reduced to 7 members. Since its foundation in 2009 27 countries have been members during the 4 year period with Greece being the member who has been in EDEN longer than anyone else even compared with period of the originals.

With EDEN informaly out of the picture(according to the alliance page EDEN still exists) this will mean another alliance shake up and this is between the 2 anti-EDEN forces prior to the "death" of EDEN - Circle of Trust and The World is Ours.

Romania allready signed MPP with some of the major TWO countries - Serbia, Slovenia, UK and Poland. Currently Romania is at war with Bulgaria - a CoT member and one of TWO's closest allies. However the allignment of Romania with TWO states is not very wellcomed by other states within TWO. Hungary, which is an archrival of Romania since the PEACE-ATLANTIS years, is certainly not happy with the fact that their closest friends Serbia and Poland are now allies with Romania. Spain, founding EDEN member and the first(along with Poland) original who left the alliance, has also announced that they don't have intentions to sign MPP with any former EDEN states. Romania can clearly spark a tension within TWO.

Another tension between TWO member states is the new ACT(the trail alliance of TWO) member - Colombia. Colombia is part of the unofficial alliance CUA(Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay). CUA is currently at war with Mexico, Paraguay and Chile from CoT, ACT's Venezuela and pro-CoT Brazil. Not to mention Colombia hasn't MPP with any TWO or CoT member. And in addition to this Ireland, CUA's closest ally, is at the moment at war with TWO's UK and Argentina attacked UK recently via airstrike.

Meanwhile the Spanish government issued a statement, regarding the Colombia's ACT membership. It's mentioned that Spain wasn't noticed about the voting and will ask for cancellation of the vote. It's crystal clear that TWO is shaking inside out after the recent events involving some enemies.

The allignment of Romania with Serbia and Poland could cause split of the union between TWO and CoT. CoT's agenda with EDEN is well documented. The alliance was formed after the founders of CoT - Bulgaria and Chile left EDEN and Terra respectivly after serious issues. The alliance has since expanded to 15 states, including some major players like Macedonia/FYROM, Indonesia and USA and are in close relations with Brazil. The tension between CoT and TWO has grown with the addition of Russia(Poland's archrival) as trial Member. Even the USA's mebership caused some tension. But with Serbia and Poland as allies to Romania and the controversial ACT membership of Colombia can lead to serious problems with TWO.

And as for Asgard. Can they benefit from the eventual split? Norway and Sweden have rental contracts with Russia(CoT trail member), but the alliance also have some issues with both alliances - Lithuania(CoT), Latvia and Estonia(Both from ACT) and Spain(TWO). Sweden and Finland had recently MPP's with Russia, but according to the CoT's Charter a CoT member can't have MPP with state, which is at war with another CoT member. But does this mean that Russia can't have MPP with Sweden if Lithuania declares Sweden as NE? And with Canada having issues with Spain, Asgard may shift to CoT if the split will happen.

But what about the 7 EDEN states? Their choice is not easy - either to ally with TWO or CoT, or in the best case scenario remain neutral. Many states have issues with states from both CoT and TWO - like Albania, Greece and Turkey. Currently Croatia is neutral state and has no intentions to allign itself with any existing alliance. But if Greece/Albania/Turkey join one of these alliances(TWO and CoT), can they really co-exist with once their enemies like Macedonia/FYROM, Bulgaria etc.?

All these events may be the crucial Game Changer in eRepublik right now. What holds the future for everyone involved?
