eCommunism [II - Differentiation]

Day 561, 07:43 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar

The New World.

What's it about? Rampant imperialism and articles getting hundreds of votes in funny languages.

But that's not all it's about. It's about being able to do anything or go anywhere the game makes possible. If you want to found a party devoted to beer you can, and if you want to run for the Country Presidency you can.

Even looking at a map of the eWorld it's quite easy to see that there's no limitations of imagination or actions being anchored by the real world -- I don't remember learning about Pakistan or Norway's vast world empires in history.

Sadly, though, there are people that are unable to see the difference. There are people who are offensive, hold personal grudges that spread onto this game and even racist or xenophobic. Sometimes if I look at an article that has lots of votes and see the comments, I find myself wondering if this is the New World afterall.

Thus, I present to you my point:

eCommunism 😕= Communism

It's a shame that people don't get this, but that's why I'm going to try and educate people about it.

Most if not all of you should know what communism was, and is. We all hear in the news about things happening in far away countries that we'd rather not hear. We all know about and probably some witnessed the effects communism had on Europe after the Second World War. Oppressive and violent regimes abusing the ideologies of their predecessors and turning something that was once an innocent idea into a tryannical system.

There are often many debates about what communism is, but to a lot of people it's not something they enjoy hearing about.

But, wait, remember that little 'e'?

Despite what many people may think of the People's Communist Party, don't forget a few important things:

1) Despite the ideology and political stance of the party, there is little within the New World's political, economic or social systems that the PCP can actually change or modify. This means that although it's a communist party, the eUK could never become communist or come to anything at all similar to that of oppressive and violent real world communist governments.

2) It has as much right to be a party as any of the other top parties. Despite what people may argue, eCommunism is just political persuasion and since the creation of the New World, has done nothing wrong. While other parties may be more conventional to real world politics -- don't forget that this is not the real world.

3) I cannot speak for all the members but I know myself and most of them are just in it for fun. Just like playing this game, we're like you -- here to have fun and enjoy ourselves. There's no oppression or even so much as a heated debate in our forums. We respect each-other just as much as I assume the other party members do, and all that differentiates us from a UKRPer is our political beliefs and party name.

Now, when the time comes for the next election I want you to remember these points. I don't want you to look at Kumnaa and see "People's Communist Party" and be put off, or think that he'll be an eStalin. He's an experienced, open and in my eyes a ruddy good candidate. Vote for the person and manifesto rather than the party. I know it's said a lot and becoming a cliché, but don't be a sheep. Party members, don't vote for your party's candidate just because you want to support them, or are told to.

Read the manifesto, decide which you think is best for YOU and don't let anyone change your mind.

Vote for who you want.

Vote for a good candidate.

Vote for Kumnaa.
