Dire Warning

This is a dire warning to all would be presidents. Before you decide to run, plan your campaign, write up your goals and make promises, head this warning. There are 2 kinds of presidents, one who busts his butt on a daily basis and one who hires people to take care of the bulk of his responsibilities. Now in my opinion the first is a president, the second is nothing more then an actor pretending to be filling a position that is in reality hollow and empty. Some think that being a president will be fun, will be enjoyable, truth is that for most of a presidents term he is taking care of business, not having fun as some might think. It is a stressful job, specially in times of war. Ask any wartime president how he views his term in office, stressful, tiring might be some of the words he will use to describe it. At war or not, creating results will require time and effort, just ask past president Josh, Gaius, Harrison.

And now to the dire warning. To those who think of ever being president of this great country, know this. Time will be demanded, taken by force and ripped out of your hands. If you are to be a president, not an actor but a president you will find yourself online hours on end. Setting your alarm clock for various different AM times can very well become common. Rather you'd like it or not being president will require more then you'd like to give. Of course, actors get by easily, their cabinet runs their presidency, but a true president will tire, will take on some stress and perhaps consequently will miss out on some RL events. Some might say "but eRepublik is just a game" I agree it is just a game, but it has to be much more then that to a president. Taking the game too seriously, giving too much are essential attributes needed in a leader, a president. Again, an actor will get by devoting much less to his term...I'm talking about a president.

If you cannot give what a presidency might ask of you or if you simply are not willing to devote the time and put in the effort, please do America a favor and DO NOT run of president. We, and by we I mean America, are not looking for an absent, half motivated, actor. We are in need of a president. If you cannot give us that then you are not the man/woman we are looking for. Two terms of mediocrity has left us without patience, therefore I urge you to heed this warning, lest you lose whatever respect and admiration you have, face ever mounting criticism and eventual impeachment.

America seeks a PRESIDENT, actors need not apply.

As a president, respect is key. You must first respect yourself before others will respect you. It is earned, not just given out. Many people think that you have to be liked by others before they will respect you, but that is not true. It isn't important that people like you. It's important that they respect you. They may like you but not follow you. If they respect you, they'll follow you, even if perhaps they don't like you.
