GreekHoplite: Hi, CivilAnarchy, it is nice to meet you. I wish to thank you for this interview!

CivilAnarchy: Glad to be here 😃

GreekHoplite: First off, where are you from in real life (RL) CivilAnarchy? Why do
you enjoy eRepublik? And what may we comprise of your name however
magnificent-oxymoron it may be?


CivilAnarchy: In real life, I'm from the same state I represent in Congress.
CivilAnarchy: Voorhees, New Jersey.
CivilAnarchy: As a person, I've always enjoyed politics.
CivilAnarchy: This game is sort of a way to play an expedited version of what I hope that the rest of my life is going to be.
CivilAnarchy: Later in life, I hope I can pursue a political career. This game is just my way of acting out that fantasy so to speak.
CivilAnarchy: My name, well, thats a funny story actually.
CivilAnarchy: It stems from IRC fights I used to have with a friend from the SFP, st.
CivilAnarchy: John mccloskey. Hes no longer playing the game, but when he was around,
we'd have these little IRC battles.
CivilAnarchy: He'd become "The Law", and I would become "Anarchy"
CivilAnarchy: At the time, I was merely Civil
CivilAnarchy: Eventually, I made a joke about becoming the hybrid, Civil Anarchy
CivilAnarchy: And the name sounded good to me, so I stuck with it.
CivilAnarchy: In theory, my name does mean Communism though.
CivilAnarchy: Anarcho Communism is, in its essence, Civilized Anarchy.

GreekHoplite: I must say your name does bring shock and awe when reading it at the headline of a news article!

CivilAnarchy: Sometimes a little shock is a good thing 😃

GreekHoplite: A New Era…in this article you described how its time for
change in eAmerica. What 'change' (lol'OBama) are you going to
implement if you become the next President of the United States?
(POTUS)?

CivilAnarchy: There are three major changes that I will be focusing on if elected president:
First and foremost, my mail goal for this presidency will be augmenting the player retention of the eUSA. This will be done through the use of making the game more fun for existing players, using programs such as the erepublik holidays, encouraging further new player education at the hands of Company Owners and Small Parties, and increasing the external exposure for the game in the RL US.
As mentioned previously, I advocate for the creation of eUs government sponsored holidays.
Two of which are most likely to increase fun for people, RL day and Troll/International Media Humiliation Day.
Real Life day is just a little way of letting people find something to write about, and maybe find a few friends in the game that share their interests.

GreekHoplite: I like that part, ha ha.

CivilAnarchy: Make the game a little more personal, and let people have a little more fun talking about their RL interests. The second holiday....That's pretty self explanatory. People like to gang up on a group they don't like. The other two holidays are Income Tax Return day and Construction Day/Noob Day.
Income Tax Return will be used instead of Lulz proposals at the end of a congressional term. Its just a little throwback to the American people, because we already have the highest taxes in the game. A day off for everyone, at minimal cost to the Government. Construction day, after talks with a friend, may be changed to New Player day. I will announce any developments with it by tomorrow.

GreekHoplite: Sounds good.

CivilAnarchy: As per New player retention I've always been an advocate for Small Party Influence, something that can be seen from the late SPU attempt. Small Parties are the true trainers of great players in this game. They should be given the tools to create these players more efficiently, and, all in all, gain more credit for it.
As for Company Owner Involvement, its also self explanatory. Many employees find a friend in their GM, and these people can be an integral link between the player and the game, a friend where no others are.
CivilAnarchy: As for Advertising, I will advocate for higher RL social exposure to the game In preparation for Late June The US operates on an agricultural school schedule, meaning, almost everyone gets out during one week, June 15-23. This time period is our best possible chance for a baby boom, and even if I'm not going to be president during it, I'm making sure I do everything so that our country is truly ready for it.

GreekHoplite: I am gradually becoming an advocate for player retention myself, so I heed your efforts for a recall on new, if not original, implementations in the running for the POTUS. They sound great!

CivilAnarchy: As for the second Change, its pertaining to EDEN. Personally, I advocate for a withdrawal from Eden. Only under the right circumstances.

GreekHoplite: Its become quite controversial, to say the least.

CivilAnarchy: I was actually a senator aiming to prevent the eUs form leaving the
alliance, until conferences between Congress and Executive officials can sit and talk about grievances, and a meeting between Eden leadership and eUs representatives can be arranged.

GreekHoplite: What can you expect of the long-term repercussions dissolving ourselves from EDEN?

CivilAnarchy: I want an expansion of the Brolliance, but not at the loss of all our
allies. When we leave, which I believe is inevitable due to previous failures with EDEN leadership, the terms shall be ours, and they shall leave the majority of EDEN powers friendly towards us. Long Term - I believe that we will see a rise of the Brolliance.
CivilAnarchy: Our relations with countries like Spain, Greece, and Croatia, I presume, will be stable. I foresee problems with Poland, and possibly Romania.

GreekHoplite: Interesting, and what about Spain?

CivilAnarchy: But most likely, alliances of convenience will leave us in line with them, against Phoenix. We still have a bond with Spain from World War Three.

GreekHoplite: And the United Kingdom?

CivilAnarchy: Two countries who gave up everything for our Ideals. The Uk? I truly do not care about them. I don't advocate for an invasion, nor do I advocate for aligning ourselves with them. They're to be ignored on the world stage.
Back to the original question, there was one more change I wished to mention.
The current Constitution of the eUnited States places the Military of the
eUs at an equal branch of government, alongside the President and
Congress. As president, I will work towards higher cooperation and unity between the
Military and Executive branch, in order to improve the efficiency, and
democratic leadership, or the military.

GreekHoplite: Your qualifications are substantial for a noticeably younger eCitizen. What are your proudest moments being part of the eWorld and why?
(and by younger I mean of the recent presidential candidates elected)

CivilAnarchy: Ah, I have a few moments I would like to mention....
CivilAnarchy: But the very best, I am completely sure, was the election of March 25th, 2009.
CivilAnarchy: At the time I was coordinating elections for the SFP
To try and get three of our members into congress This is a feat that had never been achieved before, and none of the other 6th parties had that many congressmen. Even the UIP, which was three times our size I put almost 4 days of work towards those elections, messaging every party members, getting platforms ready.
CivilAnarchy: In the end, we were able to win all three elections for our members, a great accomplishment for the party.

I had stayed up until rollover, aka 3 Am EST, to coordinate the final election moments
The feeling of relief and accomplishment was so great, truly one of the best I've felt in this game
Along with my congressional elections, Party President wins, and finishing the SPU constitution, and anti-imperialism arguments, I feel those are some of my best moments .

GreekHoplite: In part of your dedication in ‘A New Era’ you described increasing
player retention is most important. With Erepublik’s new game mechanics regarding hospitals, what would you say are 3 key steps for a new player who is not as informed as they should be when they first join?

CivilAnarchy: With all new players, we need to ensure that they have the resources to begin this game well available to them.
Currently, the welcoming committee and eUs mentor program does what it can to get them to the places that they need to go.
The top three things that a new player needs to do when they come into this game are as followe😛
1) Get to a fortress state
This helps the country, and lets a new player progress in xp as fast as they can.
2) Join the Training Corps
The Training Corps is the greatest way for a new player to get involved with something. It might not give them the skills that they need to function the best they can in erepublik, but it gets them on the right track.
And finally, 3) Get involved with a Political Party

GreekHoplite: Excellent suggestions.

CivilAnarchy: As I said before, political parties are the best at training new members. Parties have something to gain from these members, so there's mutual incentive.

GreekHoplite: A couple things that might still be on people's minds: Lion King and Hello Kitty?

CivilAnarchy: I actually plan on launching operations against Serbia in Asia
My Military goals as president include the conquest of Sindhi, and Liaoning. I have talked with our JCS, NXNW, and his comment towards it was that it is indeed a possible operation. Sending Serbia out of Asia would be a massive victory for the eUs, one that I will work heavily towards.

The conquest of Hello Kitty, I'm unsure.
Previous campaigns against Hungary have been extremely difficult
I would have to consult with military officials, and allied powers before thinking of such an operation.

GreekHoplite: I'm sure the eMilitary will be chomping at the bit!
GreekHoplite: Current events: Limpopo and the future of South Africa?

CivilAnarchy: As President, I will fully support the liberation of South Africa, at the request of the native South Africans.
South Africa, in my eyes, is an ally to the eUs. Allowing it to stay in the hands of Phoenix powers would be an injustice to the people of South Africa, and the free nations of the world.
The recent efforts to liberate South Africa have been clouded by miscommunication between the eUS and EDEN. Just another situation where faults arise.

CivilAnarchy: I will ensure there is proper coordination and communication between allied powers before undertaking serious liberation operations.

GreekHoplite: Enough about the politics, what do you do for lulz?

CivilAnarchy: The main source of entertainment, non-serious wise, for me in this game is IRC. Chilling in any irc channel is fun, as long as the channel itself is active. Many good times in the IRC 😃
