Change
Sir David Newton
Hey
You might not know me because I haven't written many articles in the newspaper but I have played eRepublik and taken part in the forums quite a lot and the IRC even more. I am an Australian in RL and am always looking to do what is best for Australia in RL and in eAustralia.
I have noticed in my time here that eAustralia is doing the same thing over and over again... We get taken over, we get freed by a nation who is looking after themselves, we get taken over again and then we will get freed again. I would like to change this.
I have also noticed that the people who are the main people who are in senate and become prime minister keep doing the same thing and most people love them for it. I think that we should start taking our own right and start making a couple changes. I am not saying what they are doing is wrong, but I think that if we all work together we can do a WAY better job...
This is why I would like to make a party who aren't afraid to make CHANGES and who will always do what is best for eAustralia. A party that will achieve these goals at the very least if we get enough support:
1. Put the fun back into eRepublik for eAustralians (I will try to fit it - eRefunpublik)
2. Put a referendum in place (for everybody, even the 2-clickers who do not have an account on the forums). This will be for the major things like changing eAustralia's alliances because just the senate should not have all the power for 1 month...
3. Start to stimulate eAustralia's economy for a minimal cost and it will create extra revenue for eAustralia (I have a couple ideas but I will keep them until I get a party).
4. I will try to get eAustralia's military back on track and will try to get it better for minimal cost (I have a couple ideas but I will keep them until I get a party).
5. I will get all our regions of eAustralia back and they will stay eAustralian.
6. I will finish recreating eAustralia and push eAustralia in the right direction
I would like every bodies support and if you support please click this or PM me http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dFRWTi0waUxlWWZMZ0JMcVBNdGQ4YXc6MA (You will have to copy and paste in your browser as eRepublik's linking isn't working at the moment... Also Please vote. If you want to help out click the link and click yes to the question: "Would you like to help out".
Don't wait till it's too late - Look at this http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/goodbye1-1097155/1/20 It is sad but it is true...

One reason it seems that the same people are always in power (in every country) is that it requires a lot of time to properly do the job, and only a small percentage of people are willing to put in the required amount of time.
A president or head of the foreign ministry or armed forces can expect to put in 4 of more hours a day in the job, much more in the event of a war. So please don't knock the hard-working folks who volunteer their RL time to manage a country. (Rant completed)
Now, as far as making changes, I completely agree. New ideas should be sponsored and discussed and tested. Taxation is often one of the most heated debates, but taxes can be easily changed, so economic experimentation should be encouraged.
In my few days as an eAussie I have met many good people, but it seems there is an undercurrent of nastiness which I don't understand.
I like what you are saying and wish you the best in achieving your goals!
I know that it takes quite a lot of time to do the job properly and it is the main reason why the same people are in control most of the time. But there are a lot of people who could do the same job better but do not have a lot of the political power. And another reason is if you get in power once, a lot of people know you and will vote a familiar face.
And I didn't try to put a bad face on anyone because I know they do a hard job and the only way to know what it feels like is to do it yourself. But I am saying that half the reason why they don't do a good job is that they spend the time but they just do the same thing... If they delegated the tasks and got many more people involved they would be able to take the tasks at hand a lot better.
Have fun with that guys.
Fun-in-publik, you mean.
The more I play this game there more there appears to be a clique who pulls the strings in eAustralia. Maybe it is because we are such a small country compared to some other eNations.
One thing that has annoyed me is how general discussion occurs in Senate only forums and general citizens cannot therefore comment on important issues.
Good luck on getting elected and bringing a stronger democracy to our great eNation.
There are a few things that our leaders (besides devoting a hell of a lot of their time) do over and over again.
1) Not take note of stats, figures, maths, the relationship of ratios, the reality of where we stand.
2) Not take human nature: our, theirs, and everybodies into consideration.
3) See what has happened before and learn from it. Are we doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.
What can we do about this?
1) Don't be a monkey's uncle (sorry Mack) and be realistic about the true nature of us compared with them in a statistically mature manner.
2) Take into account that this is a game and other people will just invade us at their own whim if they see an opportunity.
3) Don't be somebody else's pawn even if you think it's good for you/us because it won't be. Take off those rose coloured glasses and look back at what has happened.
eAustralia: you wanted WA back and this is the price.
Finally I'd like to ask: Why the heck is Firefox telling me I spelled colour wrong after installing the english Aus dictionary extension !?!
Coz the Aus dictionary extension was written by Americans.
I am trying to introduce some change, not destroy what has been done. I want to stimulate the economy. I want to help eAustralia first and foremost. I am not here to judge all the people in power, but to help eAustralia to get better for the future.
And we all know what the "old guard" are doing that we don't like. The question is when is someone going to actually step up and make a change? We need the right person to do it or it is bound to fail.
Thats what I am trying to do. I do not want to go round in circles. I want to move forward for a better eAustralia.
Great idea!! 😃
Not bad!
We desperately need this, the current leaders are so not worth it. If they were managing their jobs correctly the farce of the last week wouldn't have happened.
We just missed an opportunity to strike back at Brazil, the window closed and they re-engaged Queensland.
Erm Few things
- A Party is a group used to represent political ideals, not personal ideals, your objectives seem to be more personal based. Even thoe there are currently a few really weird parties.
- Rewind and take a few chill pills, its not all doom and gloom as yous might think 😛 There could be a few changes in the Executive Government, but it doesnt mean you rubbish them considering all the work alot of them have done. Theres always drama, dont be so surprised about this, its usually a bi-monthly cycle 😛
- Someones vote spamming with orgs or international players? 😛 14 comments.
Big promises. No hope of keeping them.
I don't want to be part of eBrazil, no offence to eBrazilians, and this current group ain't doing much of a job of fighting back >>
Anyone who can help is a winner in my books 😁
