Can Patton into Ireland.... Again ?

Day 896, 21:57 Published in Ireland Ireland by patton

So, elections are in a few hours and I find myself beset on all sides, facing an aggressive Labour push to finally take control of the government. It's actually kind of exciting to see the Labour machine with its numerous articles and ads pushing for Ireland's top spot. The level of organization and enthusiasm certainly shows that Labour seems to be the party to be a part of. The only question it begs to me ask is where was all this election time criticism during the month ? Perhaps they were too busy with our new constant wars and deployments 😉

Why Me ?

My main criticism seems to be complacency and old erepublik age. Even though I delivered on my promises of an improved and V2-ready IDF and an increased presence on the world stage, I have done nothing. But...Irishbhoy seems to be credited with everything accomplished during my term.

Story Time

So, let's say you have a Corporation. We'll call it Widget LLC. There is a CEO and then there are various VPs that are in charge of different areas of production. The CEO manages all of these VPs and makes sure they are on track and to help him with the abundance of work he has on his plate. Let's say one of these VPs is in charge of sales. The VP secures several large deals and helps to create revenue for the company, but this is only a small part of the company's success. There are many other hard-working VPs who contribute. And managing them all is a CEO who makes sure they're doing their jobs.

Story Time Explained

Does the VP of sales deserve credit? Of course. He made the sales. He helped the company. But does that mean no credit is given to the CEO who hired him and set his agenda in the first place?
Irishbhoy is an invaluable member of my cabinet. He has done all of the things that he claims to have done in the area of Foreign Affairs. But the articles of his Labour allies say that I had no part in the successes of our MoFA. In effect, implying that I did nothing my entire term.
Wrong. I set the agenda. I decided to pursue closer relations with Brolliance. I finalized the deals. Without my say-so, none of that could have been accomplished.

Now for the Meat and Potatoes

Military

Contrary to some politicians' beliefs, the IDF does NOT deploy aimlessly. All deployments this month have had the dual purpose of helping our allies AND improving the efficiency of the IDF. Before this month, the IDF was a mess. Weapons were never issued and units were completely inactive. This month, the IDF was prepared for V2 AND re-energized. The deployments forced units to become active and cohesive, and streamlined our weapon distribution system. Now the IDF is an effective fighting war that our allies can rely on in times of war.

Foreign Affairs

Once again my top two priorities are the military and foreign affairs. The MoFA team has accomplished great things for us but we need to continue to build on it. Also we need to continue to add new allies. While Brolliance is great their is nothing wrong with building new friendships . This month we helped out India and SA both non-Bro nations. If we can I would like to expand this and earn Ireland as many international friends as possible. Also perhaps we could move back to the days when ambassadors published reports on their assigned countries in the media.

Finance

Not many of you know this but the past few days Ireland has been dealing with a mini-financial crisis. The market was buying huge amounts of IEP and only through the careful stewardship of the MoF and private citizens like Nogin and Appleman were we able to make it through without a serious destabilization of our currency. Ireland can never forget we live in a fragile economic state and that we must always be on the lookout for eRaiders trying to hurt us.

Community

Irish Princess got off to a great start with 3 new and fun competitions. However, over the course of the fun she was unable to continue with the new games. Unfortunately she was hit with about 6 ten page term papers at the same time 🙁 Now, Princess is out for the summer and will give Ireland a Ministry of Community that it has never seen before, provided I win 😉

Industry

Ireland's Ministry of Industry is essential to the continuance of successful deployments. IB states " whether it is viable to have a state Q5 weapons company at all if it continues as it is " Im all about " viability but I cant see how a Q5 company with super cheap, high skill level workers that distributes weapons to our elite troops isnt viable. I want to make sure our elite troops continue to receive the high quality weapons that they slave over to get. In addition to elite troops I want to make sure that all troops receive weapons from the IDF for engagements. With a tiny country like Ireland we need to rank up our soldiers as fast as possible and I cant see a better way then getting it for free.

Education

As many people say I have been here a long time. Yet in that long time Im not sure If I ever saw a fully functioning Education Ministry. My thoughts on it arent that the Ministers are incompetent but that the Ministry itself is flawed. I think the Education Ministry should refocus itself . I think the next MoE and his team should instead spending their time creating personalized guides to Ireland for newbies as well as being in charge of updating the wiki

Why me Again ?

Some people have said that the only thing I have over IB is old age/experience. I call crap. I have an established track record of bringing this island together and getting things done. There has never been a Patton administration which made Ireland move backwards and I dont intend to start now. If you vote me in again I will not disappoint.
