Anyone else feel as though this is what relations between eCanada and the eUSA have looked like as of late?
So eSpain has decided they have had enough of the eUS and of course, like a spurned lover, the eUS has decided to give eSpain the "Royal Salute" and is preparing for war.
What happens next? Oh...you don't know? Its simple...eCanada is basically expected to throw down for the eUS to help them in their coming battle with eSpain, just as we have been doing as of late while ePoland has been having its way with the eUS like a seasoned Con has his way with the "Fish". If you haven't noticed, most of the Battle Of The Day orders have been eUS oriented. No surprise right? I mean, surely the POTUS has committed to helping us once we get this little "Situation" sorted right? I mean, its clear that the eUS government is going to have our back and help us liberate our regions, just like they did for the last 8 months right? RIGHT???
WRONG! The POTUS has not given any signal that there is intent to back us and help us when our time comes. But were in CoT you say...surely that automatically means the eUS will have our backs no? NO! It does not. The fact is, without a public declaration of iron clad support, there is absolutely no reason why eCanada should waste its precious resources helping a neighbour that is happy to TAKE in the relationship, but is unwilling to GIVE when it matters most.
Worse still, we are being asked to fight against a country that has a NAP with us that expires next month with an easy out clause. So yeah, lets just go and pee all over the very country that holds us by the throats in an effort to help a country that has done little to nothing for us lately! What a great idea!
In this writers humble opinion, I would rather fight FOR eSpain and curry some favour with an eNation that has actually done more for us (allowing us to keep most of our regions), than to fight for a Nation that has done little to nothing to earn our trust or our support.
So, in closing...here is my statement to the eUS:
MR. POTUS, TEAR...DOWN...THIS...WALL
You either have our backs, or the next sensation you feel will be the blade of karma sliding her way between your shoulder blades!

We were not allies with the USA until last week. Remember you see the CotD of the country your in, not your citizenship countries. I have been in the US for weeks and they have not been CotD their battles with Poland until yesterday. They have been fighting for allies mainly.
Our relationship with the eUS has never been conditional on an MPP. What a sign of the times. Sad really.
I mean actually allied in the same alliance. What you asking for is usually implied when you join the same alliance. Which until last week, we were not. Never actually read the CoT charter though. Maybe we should.
I hear you ED but where is the article from Oblige hailing us as a partner again, pledging his support to our needs? I see our CP showing support very overtly and yet Oblige remains eerily quiet and that silence speaks volumes to me
Potato made a nice welcoming article in the CoT paper. Oblige did apparently work behind the scenes to help get us the NAP. He is kind of busy with a multiple front war.
He also got us into the alliance and he would not of known Spain was going to NE him.
I suppose I am having a problem with what happened over the last 8 months. Time will tell if I am wrong but recent history dictates I am not.

Oblige pretty much doesn't even write articles. He hates having to write articles. When he does write articles though, they usually aren't very good.... Just sayin'.
However, Oblige worked with the past administration to get the NAP with Spain. Plus he approved of Canada's entry into CoT.
Allowing us into CoT? How magnanimous...nothing like "allowing" your closest bordering neighbour into an alliance you stand to benefit from. Thanks for the spin though...I'll pass on that.
To be completely honest, Oblige didn't do that much to help us with our NAP. I was one on one with their CP, so I don't see how much he did other than provide a tip or two.

Oblige did nothing to get the NAP with Spain. You really are grasping at that one. The people that got you the regions back were members of TWO.
If I were Canadian I would not be overly anxious to help America if the President can not be bothered to even acknowledge such an important agreement, busy or not....

I think DMV is doing a fine job, but this issue is one I will gladly speak out on and I am doing so using my own platform. I may work for "The Man" but I still have my voice and any good leader can accept and deal with dissenting opinions. I don't agree with helping the eUS and I have no desire to hide that opinion.

Not long ago, many eCanadians were professing their great interest in rekindling the Brolliance. Now that this wish is being put to the test, many are changing their tune. Just an interesting note from my vantage point.
Interested in a 2 way relationship yes...I just don't want to be someone's one night stand.
We hooked up with CoT only two days ago and Spain just made a move on our guy...is it not too early to be calling up eUSA looking for a serious commitment? It's all moving too fast for me to understand what is appropriate in this kind of dynamic. eUSA should commit to our defense, I suppose, and it'll be heartbreaking if Bro doesn't return our call.
Like, it's just so hard to know what to do when you want something so bad and all you can think of is grabbing onto it and squeezing it 'til death do us part.
Wilfie, that is so 1999. We were very interested and eUS wasn't. This is the whole issue. eUS is only prioritizes its relationship with eCan when it suits their need, not "in sickness and in health". eCan does not need a booty call, we are not an escort service. We need long term viability. The NAP provides that, and the treaty with eSpain provides that. I would prefer a better deal but this is much better than we had for 8 months.

I think too many people in eCanada - perhaps myself included - are being too reactionary, and not exercising enough patience.
The speed that things happen at in this game is not always as quick as we'd like....
I think the eUS had 8 months to decide whether they wanted a tight alliance and they chose what they chose. Now they have a NE from Spain coming and we are being asked to help with no reciprocation in hand. That worries me and it should worry all eCanadians

Pretty certain all the important stuff is done behind iron curtains. What goes on in the media is more or less like Question Period at Parliament. Lots of questions and posturing, and a few real answers here and there.
