Announcing a new grassroots initiative sponsored by the Socialist Freedom Party...



Freedom Writers




Freedom Writers exalts the extraordinary in each contributor.


We want to find ways...

* To support exceptional thinking, farsighted analysis and original ideas.
* To help players find their voice in the media.
* To help good writers become great writers.
* To encourage a lively, open press.
* To promote each other's articles.
* To foster new writing.

In short, we want everyone to be fearless and to have more fun with the media module!


The aim of Freedom Writers is not to replace any of the existing guilds or writing collaborations. Members of existing guilds and writing clubs are welcome to join the Freedom Writers movement.

Of course, all SFPers and friends are encouraged to participate, but anyone of any party or nationality is welcome to show their solidarity and to join in.



Goals and Methods


Encourage Freedom Writers to publish an article in their own paper at least one per week. Provide assistance as needed (funds, BB code advice, writing tips, etc.)

Devote a section of forums to article-writing tips and hints, suggestions. Have a place to kick around ideas, rough drafts, feedback and provide assistance, if needed, with translations or grammar. It's not (just) about voting up each other's articles; it's a place for helping each other to become better writers and publishers.

Participants may use whatever logos, slogans, icons and avatar enhancements that the Freedom Writers program deems suitable from time to time to show solidarity with the program, starting with the two shown in this article.

Posting an article link to the speciified Freedom Writers threads on various forums guarantees that the article will be mentioned and linked-to in a regular compendium of Freedom Writers articles, providing a trackback to your articles. (more to come...)

Participants are encouraged to vote up, comment on and shout for each other's articles.

Articles can be on any topic and in any language. The only restrictions are the same as those that govern publishing generally: no racism, personal insults, pornography, etc. While of course we like it when people emphasize themes close to the hearts of SFPers, the emphasis is on originality, personality, and fun, not just on politics.

The program is governed by the Revolutionary Committee of the Socialist Freedom Party, but it serves the people.

First, given that we're in an election cycle, some thoughtful political dialogue from Bruce Sommer:

In Response to My Esteemed Opponent, Citizen Sommer provides a reasoned response to criticisms from his electoral opponent regarding his election manifesto, which appeared in I'm Running for Congress in Wyoming.


And then there's this brief (!) elegy on teamwork, pain and collaboration from your's truly (PQ), called Dance Like Your e-Life Depends On It.
