First thing, I would like to thank the United Independents Party for allowing me, a member of the Socialist Freedom Party, to run for Congress under their party name.

Why I chose to be a member of the Socialist Freedom Party is due to their views, as expressed in their Party Platform, of the following areas:

Government Accountability and Political Policy

National Primary Systems
I oppose a national primary system for Congressional seats. Since such systems will necessarily be done in out-of-game venues, they can only serve to disenfranchise American voters and will be subject to corruption. I believe that the threat of PTO can be avoided by increased communication between the intelligence community, government, parties and citizens.

Government Visibility
I would like to work for governmental visibility, and fully support {factions} ++those++ in the current government who push for this.

Budget Reporting
I would like to see reforms enacted that will prevent the theft of public funds, including the publishing of budgets from every department, agency and branch of the military that receives public money. This will allow watch dog groups to more easily track the flow of money and expose corruption in the government and allow American citizens to see how the government spends tax dollars. I would also like to see rules in place to bar those who have been involved in the theft of funds from participation in eAmerican governance.

I support more user friendly eUS forums, and promote bringing information into the game where people have access to it without being forced to join forums and finding it on their own. Let's do more to aid with new players' education and easing them into the insanity of the New World.

Anti-Imperialism
I oppose all forms of imperialism from participating in wars for raw materials, to political takeovers of foreign governments, to liberating regions against the wishes of the native population. I believe that the United States military should be used to defend the United States and assist in the defense of our allies from imperialist aggression.


International Solidarity of Labour

International Solidarity
I oppose usurping sovereignty from individual nations with little regard to the well-being of smaller nations. I would like to promote the idea of international political unity by working alongside other far left parties throughout the New World, working on economic, social, and political problems that occur in the New World.

I support the reorganization of the National Guard into a strictly defensive military branch that utilizes a rotational commune system to produce its own supplies.


So, you're probably asking yourself, why is Bruce Sommer running for Congress in Wyoming yet again? Why not another region?

In RL, I'm a resident of California. But, I've visited Wyoming several times and it has always been my goal – when I am financially able – to move there. RL Wyoming is a beautiful state and their system of Government has a more "hands off" approach towards peoples' lives than California's system of Government has. Compared to California's system of Government, I guess you can say that any state has a more "hands off" approach. But, I believe that Wyoming goes further in its "hands off" approach than most other states. So, my running in Wyoming, represents the RL dream I have of one day being able to relocate to the state of Wyoming.

In addition, my running for Congress in Wyoming, represents my wish to represent the eRepublik players in Wyoming and not to just run in a state where I will most likely be elected. I'm not a forum shopper or a medal hunter.

Otherwise, if you would like to stick with the status quo, I'm sure one of the current Congressmen who have held office for the last innumerable terms will appreciate your vote.
