Corruption. It is not simply buying something. Corruption is an illegal and imoral arrangmant between two individuals. Like
everything in society, corruption is based on power or power's alter ego, money. The one who is corrupting is misusing his power
to gain more money (more power). So we can conclude that corruption is the result of greed and moral instability of individuals.
But enough bs-ing. It all comes down to one question:
Do we all mean well to eIreland?
Are we a united group of people that puts eIrish strive for power in front of ours?
If you think soo, keep reading, and if you don't, stop here.
I'm not gonna beat around the bush. This article is about IPP's vote buying ''campaign''.
When vote buying was mentioned, i thought it was done in some kind of suptilty but no, this was done in such a fassion that a four
year old boy can understand it.
Now if you are questioning is it wrong or ok to buy votes, a little explanation.
Moral is an imaginary thing that helps society prospere. However since it's imaginary, the society itself changes it. Well why
don't we then change it and everyone is satisfied?!
Well, it's a bit tougher than that. You see, when someone buys your voice, he didn't really deserve it, didn't he? Awkors he
didn't. If he had deserved it, he wouldn't have bought it from you.
So, what is the product of vote buying?
Well, a bunch of incompetant and imoral medal hunters come to power, and since they change the rules to accomodate their needs
vote buying is not a problem anymore, and then it becomes a common practice, and then we get a society based only on money that
cannot prospere because the the rule is in the hands of the richest, not in the hands of the smartest and greatest.
In most of state laws and constitutions, the bribed one and the one who bribes are bouth guilty and punishable by law. It is so for a
reason.
We see everyday in our real life, through news or through personal experience how a corruption of society leads to chaos and fallback.
Don't allow that in eIreland.
Stand up to corruption, it is not the eIreland we perceive and we strive to build in future.

I am a TD this term.
I paid nothing for the few votes I was honoured to receive. I humbly thank my supporters for voting for me despite getting no tangible reward from me.
Well said.
"In most of state laws and constitutions, the bribed one and the one who bribes are bouth guilty and punishable by law."
Personally, I prefer Swiss law on that matter. There only the one that TAKES the bribe is guilty and thus nobody (or mostly nobody) takes the bribe.
I would also add a tiny bit of Chinese law into the picture. There you get shot if you are a country official and take bribe(s). Maybe killing people isn't the best (or the most popular) way to punish people, but the idea that people with more power get worse punishment for bribery is good, imo.
Of course, excellent article, voted. Not that I have any idea about vote buying in eIreland, though, but eIreland is not exactly the only ecountry with that problem.
"Stand up to corruption, it is not the eIreland we perceive and we strive to build in future."
Agreed, well said
@Hostillian , i prefer another country Singapore (i think , but not sure) , where they pay their RL congress/parliament "wages " in excess of 1Mil $$$$ , they figure if you pay your elected representatives really really well they will have no need to accept bribes
@castaneda: there they also shoot you if you fix the elections. although I'm not sure, maybe that's malesia. a friend of mine was making software for the elections in either singapore or malesia and they took their passports before the elections started and returned them back after the end. luckily for them, their software didn't have bugs...
