I was pondering today, while looking at the forums, about eIrish politics. I also am thinking about the the eIrish past. Now I am one to forget what happened before the wipe, but this seems to be a trend in our politics...
Why are there so many schemers in eIreland? I hear a lot about people robbing the state, I've noticed some money taken out, I feel there is a world of corruption that is invisible to most of the eIrish public. Now I am not going to divulge any information, just proposing a question per se. Why are there so many schemers in eIreland? There probably are hundreds in eRepublik, yes, but that is irrelevant when asking about the level of corruption in the grand nation of eIreland!
Please, will the real trustworthy politicians please stand up?
I am typically not one to post articles that could potentially condemn individuals, that is not my intention, I just want those who can be responsible and loyal to the great state of eIreland to come forward now so I know who I can trust.
Let us just say, this may be a long shot, that I win the Country President elections...why would I choose Ministers with possible records of robbery and corruption? I just ponder these thoughts as I watch eIreland manifest its daily chaos.
This is not just a question for me, for a potential CP, but for the whole eIrish community. Let us know we can trust our politicians with our IEP, with our gold, with our security.

Because there is no punishment for robbing the state.
I also highly doubt if there is another country having 'Loveable Rogue' award.
And for "Ministers with possible records of robbery and corruption",
But he is awesome MoX , he is true patriot etc etc.
I know loads who are trustworthy in eIreland.

Because politics is fickle and a nasty business. It is particularly fickle in a very complex, where the majority of people are left clueless of what is actually going on.
Also in this game there is no court system to stop people from insinuating and accusing people of whatever they like.
If this were RL and all that's been said and done occurred then there would be a serious amount of suing going on xD

Yeah, but why would we all sit passively by as we get robbed constantly and I do not see such a need to fall victim to corruption. Our job is to help eIreland, protect eIreland, and do our best with the time we are given.
Isn't it just a little ABSURD that people put their faith and trust in us and we deliberately rob them? Now, there may have been good intentions and I do not know the cases of ANY of the corrupted, but nevertheless it didn't turn out for the better. Is it mere greed?
Greed wont play a huge factor in eRepublik. On eRepublik people look to forge a name for themself. For some this means building empires of companies, for some it means political success, and for a great number in Ireland, it means having some kind of prestigious contribution to be known and remembered by. eRepublik is all about ego.
If anything, that is what motivates corruption.
For the record, I'm not convinced of any widespread corruption. I trust that the reward of the community's favour is enough to warrant an honourable job.
@Ian: I like your points, friend, and I must agree. Maybe some greed is in there, but it is mostly driven by ego!
Yet I still don't have very many people commenting on this article, which means either
A. They don't like my articles
B. They have been corrupted and feel guilty
C. They just don't like reading articles

Exactly Mike. This is EXACTLY the issue here. Only thing I can say is that every time there is a scandal, the shouters re-write history in the hope the rest of us will have mass amnesia. Luckily, at least a few of us auld farts can remember everything.
I don't care about grudges, but I do care about trust. And when its gone, its gone. Simple. There are humans behind the avatars, and despite their best attempts, self-justification doesn't work as a credible defence.
Finally, it seems to me that whenever the rogues are called out, the insults and porn-trolling begin. No wonder we burn so many players out with our eIrish gang tactics!
It was different when I started, there were adversaries, but with an underlying respect. Seems that doesnt happen any more 😞
You are a good guy. You attract other good players. You will prevail.
