A Week in Review | A Noob's Perspective | The Halfway Point (Day 3)

Day 1,896, 20:15 Published in USA USA by Jarred Brown

I have mixed feelings and emotions about what happened today. In positive news, I reached level twenty-two, and have almost been promoted in military ranking once more. Tomorrow I will surpass 50 strength, and move on to bigger and better missions (though that will be outlined in day four's summary). An old friend of mine, Gerald Smyth (whom I am of acquantince with in real life) gave me 5 gold today, pushing my total up to 40! I am still debating as to what I should do with it.. Invest or spend! Hard decision.

Recently, I've been trying to delve into some politics, and have applied for another position within Candor's cabinet. Although I've received no response yet, I hope to see a positive outlook by tomorrow. I'm really getting interested in the social aspect of this game now, contradictory to my first posting, in which I stated that I assumed this game would be mostly military and fighting against AI. I'm very glad that changed, and I assume that this is about the time that it does so for most new players.

I have read a lot more about the AFA and it's ringleader, and have deduced that they truly are quite a rotten group of folk; whether it be their vague attempts at a PTO or their leaders constantly lying and past gold scams... I'm not sure which is worse. Upon my first login, I obviously considered them as a party, and very well may have choosen them as my party of choice, had I not seen the AMP forums and how well done they seemed to be. This makes me feel as though we, as a country, should be more strict about how bad it truly is to join the AFA party right off; I hear it can ruin entire political careers.

Then again, who am I kidding? After all, this IS a game! Trolls will be trolls, and I think it only adds excitement and fun to eAmerica! Where would we be without the occasional political takeover and full-on warfare that goes on within our own country? I'm sure many don't enjoy it, but I find it to be an appealing aspect. Though undesireable in a real life situation, I truly believe it is fitting in a scenario such as eRepublik. So good on you, Ronald "Gipper" Reagan! Thank you for adding so much excitement to our day to day lives here in this beautiful eSimulation.

As usual,
