Since its introduction I was a big fan of Guerrilla module and on my stream I organized over 20 competitions for Erepublik players on this module in the last 4 years. I sent a few tickets for improving or fixing the module but many without a result.
Still, a few days ago I had a conversation with Plato (yeah, one of my monologues
😁and I managed to get his promise to work on the module, to fix it, to improve it. However, I had to trade something in exchange (as you know, nothing is free for Plato) and the deal was to give him: ideas, your ideas, a true debate of how the module can become attractive and fun again.
"Why bother for a module 99,5% of the players are not playing?" somebody asked me on the stream yesterday. The answer is: because if it would be good, way more people would play it. Truth is, even myself (the biggest fan) I am playing Guerrilla only when on stream or on competitions.
So, I want below, in the commentaries, ideas, solutions, complains, anything constructive to improve the module (long comments, pertinent ideas, show that you care). If you have something longer to expose, make an article under the #MakeGuerrillaGreatAgain hashtag.
And to show that I care, I will throw in 3 prizes of 40 Gold each for the best ideas (maybe Plato will throw more trough the Plato Foundation) in the comments or articles.
And let me start with my ideas for #MakeGuerrillaGreatAgain
* Nerf or remove the Storm Assault Rifle (as the stats are way superior to any other weapon, making it a "must" in each battle)
* Give medals for a certain amount of victories (let's say 50 or 100)
* Find a solution for the bonus damage (remove it or reset it monthly)
* Fix the issues with the inventory for some players that have over 2048 items

I used to be a fan too. Since the good weapons are too expensive and even with them it is not enough easy to reach the level up of our bonus damage (+1 or +2) I have gave up.
My suggestions are:
Reset sometimes the bonus damage,
+ add new and efficient, but cheaper weapons,
+ add new medals of Guerilla fighter, as I suggested already earlier here: https://i.imgur.com/qgllKko.png ,
+ add experience points in D4,
+ earn double prestige points with a fight in Guerilla,
+ maybe introduce every 6. mini round in each battle ONLY the Guearilla fight, similar to the air battle. The biggest dmg would mean a new medal: Guerilla Hero.
I think this would manage returning lot of player to the Guerilla fight
1. They never fix connection problem, sometime you're in sure-winning side and connection stop work. (when I used to try more it seems someone know hot to do the trick to take advantages, but nothing happen since ever).
2. Bonus damage make it too easy for someone and impossible for others. Considering you lose also if you should win (read first one), it is all about bad game experience.
3. Peoples should setup their weapon stats. Example using weapons:
damage/agility/accuracy:
Any one float -10 to +10.
Give X points (more the weapon price, more points) and start all with 0-0-0.
1 point to damage = +0.5
1 point to agility = +1agility -0.5 accuracy
1 point to accuracy= +1accuracy -0.5 agility
Get rid of bonus damage, or how it's given out.
Agree - bonuses kill any wish to join in guerilla fights...
Any idea how to replace it or how to reward players that have positive record or to make the tie break if battles finish with equality
Simply higher end damage ? But it still would make even and fair fight itself...
The people with positive records can be rewarded with pixels - skins, better looking weapons, titles
How about to create a Guerrilla medal for 5 vitories ?

You already stated the most important things that must change, first among them is to get rid of bonus damage. Also give prestige points for fighting guerrilla and increase damage done in the battle.
Get rid of guerilla, focus on bringing more strategy on the real battlefield & air-battles.

150xPremium helmet, grenades, etc...
+1 Bonus damage
+200 Energy storage
+20 double energy bars

- Remove Guerilla
- Make a new game play (w/o Guerilla & Guerilla-like)
Decrease the need to kill 10 persons before joining. Make it "free"

When I read the title, I was like: "wow, I didn't even know I was that kind of celebrity, I'm so flattered"
But then the reality hit me hard... Why, why for Pete's sake did they have to name the PvP similarly to my nickname?

Sa se dea XP la sfârșitul luptei,eventual doar celor de la divizia 4 sau posibilitatea de a opta intre recompense și XP.
Daunele la sfârșitul luptei sa fie în funcție de numărul luptelor câștigate, un fel de Rank la guerilla.

🙂 mai bine daca esti mic sa castigi damageul pe care l-ar fi castigat cel mare daca ar fi castigat.
medalii ar fi fost bune, dar ceva simbolic,a spunem la 100 de victorii, sau 10 victorii in linie.

Remove bonus dmg, its so unfair someone to hit all the time with bonus, you know u have 10% chance to win so why i would fight guerrilla. So you have bonus guys playing regularly and the victims.

Remove that awful bonus (for win/loss ratio) and make fights bit faster 🙂
* you can't fight against the same player in GF in the day, only one battle a day with him/her
*you can buy special weapons (they have to invent them) if you win 3 GF in a row
* the feature hand to hand fight might be allowed for those who can't buy and give extra points if you win.
- Remove bonus damage or use an exponential formula instead of a ratio so that it will be fair and new-to-guerrilla players won't be favorite in ranking up
- Make it that it will give the amount of Prestige Points available to a multiple of 10 energy spent n the fight (i.e. if you spent 78 energy defeating an opponent, you get 7 prestige points, even an incentive for the winner like 1.1 - 1.2 x PP, even a loss for the looser like 0.9 x PP would be nice )
- Give the player the opportunity to choose if he wants to gain experience or not

-Guerrilla should give perception for air battles exp: If you win you got 2 points,if you losse you will get 1 point

there is only one thing that can set the foundation for making guerrilla great again
they should stop with that lottery when it comes to shots. Drop the bonus, but make the damn weapons work and cut the bs with the random "good hair day" chance
let there be some strategy in it...and once you've sorted that out, then you have a product you can advertise and impose on players
obviously, more/better incentives would work, but players will get pissed with a dysfunctional game pretty fast so they would become redundant.
Guerrilla in terms of mechanics was waaay better functioning back when the +30 damage bonus was quite a frequent thing
and add some damn pixels in recognition of players' efforts
if you've learned anything from this game is that some users will sell their own mother for some extra pixels...so why not appeal to that.
and later, have yourself a treat and make a guerrilla pack for 9.9 euros
the game is already gone to shits and back, so I doubt a new pack would do it any harm
Ca si joc guerilla nu exista, sa fim seriosi. Gasesti chiar si pe smartphone shootere mult mai fun decat guerilla. Jocul asta poate fi reinviat (daca a fost vreodata viu ) inviind comunitatea erepublikana. Una e sa ai 1000-2000 de jucatori sau cati mai sunt activi si alta e sa fie 20000-30000 de jucatori activi. Mai multi jucatori in erepublik, mai multi vor juca querilla. Cum sa aduca jucatori e problema lui Plato. Jocul insa luat ca atare nu exista.
If it's about making guerrilla popular, than reward in golds achieve that. For each victory, player gets 0.5g or 1g, and there you go. Guerrilla will have 100% daily playing share.
the best way is to shut it down and divert the resource for some strategy for normal fight. Guerilla is dead for a long time
I don't think it's the Guerilla module that died. I think it's the game that tanked.
There have been no new players, and no effort was made in that direction. Oh wait, there was, in the other direction: by introducing Maverick Pack, Dictatorship, Allowing working multies, scripts, etc....
So these are the expected outcomes of this game. It will be a few "bullies" with a credit card, along with an army of multies. Everyone else pretty much left or was forced out.
Remove IK and you will get again great guerilla, because this pack people stop playing this..
If we want GF to be tempting again that module needs a lot of changes. From where to start?
- bonus demage is so unfair to new players in GF. Basically a player with 0 bonus dmg have smtg like 5% chance to win vs player with 2 bonus dmg. So there are 3 ways to fix that:
1. Restart GF bonuses
2. Remove GF bonuses
3. Make GF 3 divisions: Div 1 - players w/o bonus; Div 2 - players with bonus 1; Div 3 - players with bonus 2
That way GF could way more balanced and way more tempting for new players to try/use it.
- current 20 rounds are way too much. It takes too much time to play GF and this is one of the reasons so few players to do GFs. 15 rounds per fight would be best. 10 rounds would be too short, but 20 is too long, so 15 is perfect. When there are so much rounds players w/o GF bonus have lower chance to win vs player with bonus. But if the amount of rounds is reduced than the final result could be way more surprising. Why? If player with bonus 2 misses in first 2-3 rounds, then player w/o bonuses could have a chance to win when the rounds are just 15. But as it is right now... those 5 extra rounds helps a lot to bigger GF players. Those extra 5 rounds with bonus 2 means 10 more dmg and one of those misses done at the begging is gone.
- Current GF module doesnt count War Stash when game gives rank points. That also should be fixed. Why players are paying for War Stash if not to get extra rank points?!
- As already have been said a GF achievement would be for good. That would make GF more tempting. 50 wins is fear amount to get a medal. Considering that most players are using gold to buy equipment (granades, snipers) 5 gold reward for that achievement sounds logical.
- We need more terrains for GFs. 2-3 more terrains and at the begging of the fight game to pick randomly one of them.
- GF Ranks also would be very interesting. There are two ways to use GF ranks:
1. GF Ranks to replace current dmg bonuses. That way even w/o wins with a lot of patience and playing weaker players also could build a GF Rank.
2. For certain amount of time (lets say 3 months) to gather Rank points which to determine GF bonuses, but after that time passes GF Rank to get reset. That way on every 3 months all players will have clear start in GFs.
- We need more equipment and mostly more weapons. Right now in 90% of the time players are using Storm Assault Rifle which is current best weapon. If we have more choices of weapons with same ideal range but different otehr stats would be much more tactil to play GF. For example AK47 with same ideal range as Storm Assault Rifle, bigger fire power, BUT lower ammos. So those players that pick that weapon have to reload more often and to lose more rounds w/o doing dmg which will compensate the bigger amount of fire power.
- Type X gear is very rare. We need to be able to buy it or to earn it somehow.
- The button Dodge should be fixed. W/o premium granades the chance to dodge is really miserable. Amount of critical shots should be lower and amount of misses when player is dodging should be higher. - that once again will bring more tactic and will make GF more interesting
- Will be very intersting if bleeding is introduced. When you are already wounded after each round to lose some energy. For each 25 energy (HP) missin to lose 1 energy per round. So if at the begging of the round you have for example 47 energy you should lose 2 energy (HP) no matter if your opponent hits you or not.
