*please note - the below links do not necessarily reflect my views or opinions in the game. They are well written, coherent articles that have caught my eye or, at the very least, are articles that contain well written information about the goings on in eRepublik.*

The Media and You
Look at that Media Module go. Big thanks to Gnilraps for his writing competition and giving all of us some awesome to read. Thanks also has to go out to US-AIM for spawning numerous articles. And of course, last and least, to Plato (Aristotle) for this kick ass MU competition and all of the news that has brought us as well. I have to wonder though, where will that leave us once the dust settles down? A writing competition only lasts so long, US-AIM will probably spawn a couple of articles a week, and once the competition ends, so will the reporting on it.

I have seen a couple of new journalists rise up out of the ashes, so to speak, and they're pretty damned good. They're getting some votes, but certainly not what they deserve. I have a feeling that this is because of the vote selling groups, and we're going to talk about that in a week or two. Oh yes. Yes we are. But today, I want to talk about comments. "Comments? You mean, we can comment on articles Dogpyle?" Yes! Yes you can! And I'm not kidding. Once you finish reading an article, scroll down just a little further and you'll see the comment section. See it? Don't be afraid to use it. It doesn't bite.

Since we here at eRepublik just love our acronyms, I'd like to propose a new one: RSVC. It's like RSVP, but only different. RSVC stands for Read, Subscribe, Vote, and Comment. Pretty clever, huh? And it's a simple process; Read the article. It only takes a few minutes. Really. Then, if you really like what the author is saying, or how they write and want to read more, then Subscribe (I realize I write like a brick through a window, so you can skip that part with me). Vote the article if you like it and think other people should read it too. The more votes an article has, the more likely others will want to check it out. And last, but by far not least, Comment. It takes time to write a good quality article. Granted, I write for the fun of it, but I know that I love to see what y'all think of my ramblings. And I know the other journalists do too. So come on. We spend anywhere from 1/2 an hour to hours putting this stuff together for you. The least you can do is take ten seconds and write, "Hey DP. You suck." I'll appreciate it.

Dogpyle "ComesOut"
Last week, a man that I admire and respect in this game did something that I considered to be very brave. He shared something about himself with the eRepublik community, and it was met with a lot of "Meh.", "Yeah, so?", and general indifference. And that's a good thing. A really good thing. It speaks volumes about a lot of the people playing this game. But I don't think a lot of peeps realized just how much courage it took for Othere to tell us he's gay. Out in the real world, despite the fact that it shouldn't make any difference at all, it does. There are still way too many people that judge others for reasons that just shouldn't be judged, and I'm fairly certain that Othere knows this better than many of us. So, for kicking fear in the teeth, and standing up for who he his, I give a shout out to Othere. May you be you, for eternity.

"Why do you bring this up, Dogpyle?" you're asking. It's a good question, and I have a good answer; because I too have something that I'm "hiding" from you guys. It's not quite on the level of Othere's declaration, but he inspired me to let you guys "in" and see the real Dogpyle. So here it is: I love bones. It's true. I wouldn't lie to you, Dear Reader. I'd say the size of the bone doesn't matter, but I'd be lying. I like my bones to be HUGE. With meat on them. Big meaty bones, oh yeah. I could lick and gnaw on a big, huge, meaty bone all night long. Laying on my pillow at night, with that delicious bone in front of my nose is just bliss. And to wake up in the morning with that monster looking me in eyes? Heaven. So there it is. Dogpyle loves bones. I hope you'll still respect me in the morning.
