My legacy. [EN/FR]
Samuel de Champlain
Dear eCanadians,
The monthly race for Congress is near and I will have the priviledge to lead Union Nationale troup for a last time.
I will be a candidate for eQuebec, the Nation of my heart, and the reason for my implication in eRepublick for more than a year and a half.
I will conclude my political carrer, the same way I have started it, as a representative of the aspirations of Quebecers in eCanada.
Numerous months have gone by since my return to eCanada, following the world armed conflict of WWIII.
During this period, we have seen eCanada completely collapsing, until the final battle of Ontario.
At this time, I was playing for at least 6 months, and the utilisation of french language in media was totally inexistant. All governemental communications were exclusively in english.
My contribution to the foundation of Union Nationale party, allowed the development of a wonderful political party, that have evolved in an important player in the political affairs of our country.
French language is now recongnized as an official language for governmental communications. It is now a reality that french speaking canadians players can contribute to the development and the evolution of eCanada.
As I will conclude my political carrer and be retiring, UN will continue to add diversity and cultural enrichment to eCanada.
I would like to invite eCanadians to continue to work in harmony with each others, considering our cultural difference, in an open-minded point-of-view.
Greetings to all, and best wishes for your continuation in eRepublik.
Sincerly,
Samuel de Champlain.
7th Union Nationale President.
former Congressman of eQuebec.
Director of Banque Centrale du Quebec.

_______________________________________________________________________________
Vive l'Union Nationale,
Pour la Gloire et pour l'Honneur !
Samuel de Champlain.
7e Président de l'Union Nationale.
ancien Congressman du eQuébec.
Directeur de la Banque Centrale du Quebec.

Comments
Voted, I'll save the comments for my mother tongue 🙂
I can't read french. Could somebody point out the part where he says he's going back to eFrance to fight against us again?
When you talked about how you returned to Canada after WW3, you forgot to mention the "from eFrance" part
Bonne Chance !
Albrecht Dürer rocks.

Oh Samuel, it's just to be upfront about your checkered past - something you are not. People should be aware that your legacy is tainted by your past choices, such as when you joined PEACE and fought for eFrance against eCanada. You may want to gloss over that glaring blemish, but there are those of us who won't let you forget. For history's sake.
Bonne chance pour votre parti. From France.
haha salty F durden
he is TFD's dog.
Awww, Samuel's english forces him to hide behind french insults. It's OK Samuel, most of us remember your traitorous past. Also, you should be wary of invoking the memory of a dead man who never liked you.
I have no respect for this dead.
Your legacy is to basically leave behind a party that almost everyone in Canada despises because of its ties to France during the War. Good job, hope you are happy with your work on widening the rift between French and English speakers.
Something you will have to understand Niska, is that Quebecers will always have a linguistic link to France. When people like you will accept this as an historical fact, Canadians will be able to tolerate differences, and we will be united. But the day is not today, as I can see...
@SdC: English-speaking Canada also has a similar link to England. You'll notice we don't view them as friends in eRepublik.
Don't you all think it is time to end this sillines and enjoy beating up redcoats?
Oh I understand your link to France. What I don't understand is you choosing them over Canada, Quebec has been a part of Canada for 143 years when Confederation was passed in 1867. Before that, since 1759, it was in the British Empire after the French lost in the Seven Years War. A little bit more history there then with France bud. Get over yourself.
Like Saltydog said, English speakers will always have our link to Britain but that doesn't mean we will betray our country like you did. In fact we will fight them as evidenced by the war right now.
SdC you YOURSELF joined the French in the invasion of Canada!
Frenchy Froggy Sympathiser! 😕
Ooh Spock, don't play the "Anti-Quebec" card, it's boring and overused. If you re-read the comments I've made about SdC, you'll see they have nothing to do with what language he speaks and everything to do with his choice of team in this game.
To be frank, this is a game with teams. SdC chose to join the "other" team while "our" team was losing in competition, when he joined and fought for eFrance against eCanada. That's a pretty simple choice that he made and shouldn't be glossed over. Politics revolves around one's character as a summation of his actions, and because this is a political game, SdC's choices in the past should follow him today. He fought for the other team, and people deserve to know about it considering he's a prominent member of the eCanadian political elite. That knowledge is even more timely considering we're now at war with the same nation he betrayed us for in the past.
I like to keep people honest, that's all. If you interpret that as anti-Quebec sentiments, then your politics needs to move beyond into a more integrated view of Canada.
read the french part, there are more explicit meanings in that, than in english translation.
Why we don't kick Brits & French asses? Let's kill our ancestors!
Happy with that?

@saltydog
Comme vous dites en anglais: get over it!
Saltydog is TFD's mignon. Honestly can we expect something good from that? lol.
^ It's comments like that which keep people hating you SdC. I'm glad you're done in this game, you've done nothing to bring French and English Canada together, and it's comments like that which only serve to further divide us.
It's too bad you can't seem to follow the approach of some of your more moderate friends. For some reason you keep bringing up a dead man (TFD), and yet your actions and attitude are no better to me than his ever were to you. You end up tarnishing the standing of the French community in this game, and that's unfortunate.
You'll always be remembered as a traitor who ran away when the team was losing.
"Semper vigilans" ~~ I would like to respectfully add that salty is no one's minion but his own. He's a pain in the neck for those that have made mistakes but have never gone back properly account for them or rectify those errors. This is the same case here.
"Semper memor"~~SdC likes Pyramids and I like Radiohead, so what the heck, here is a fun combo - "Pyramid Song" from _Amnesiac_

"I jumped in the river and what did I see?
All my lovers were there with me.
All my past and futures,
And we all went to heaven in a little row boat.
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt."
Sounds positive? but,who says "water under bridge" can't run backwards...it's all part of your legacy SdC, never forget that.
Samuel, saltydog has lots of sand in his female reproductive organ. Don't mind him, I can assure you that NO ONE gives a dam about his opinion is... look around, he's the only one here writing you essays. Just ignore it, he's an unemployed university grad and likes to act tough on the internet. It's hopeless to try and argue back.
On a different note, I second grinch's comment: "Don't you all think it is time to end this sillines and enjoy beating up redcoats?" [x2]
"I have no respect for this dead." -SdC
I don't care whether you _feel_ respect or not--show it anyways.
RIP TFD
Sammy Shameplain caused much division when he received his special pardon, a wound that may never heal. Now he takes off again to fight against us. Makes you wonder if him or any of them really cared about about unity. Not me though, I knew all along.
