Speaker of the House

While the public elects each individual congressperson, every 2 months congress elects a new Speaker of the House, who sets the agenda and keeps congress in line. During this 19th congressional session, one of the first actions of congress was to elect it’s new Speaker of the House and the choice congress has made for the new SoH is Ananias. His goal in the 19th and 20th congresses will be “process efficiency through better organization” along with transparency and better public access. As an introduction to Ananias, you can read his Inaugural Address to the 19th eUS Congress. Ananias has been very active in eUS politics, is one of our most intelligent and thought-provoking players, and we are very pleased to have him as our new SoH. Let’s welcome Ananias and wish him success in his new role.

Presidential Election

For many of our newer players, this will be the first time you will have a president other than scrabman, who has served for 3-1/2 terms. Everyone enjoy Independence Day this weekend, as scrabman will be celebrating as well. After the fireworks are over, remember that the Presidential elections for eRepublik will take place this Sunday, July 5th (Day 593). Learn about the candidates so you can make a good decision for eUSA; polls will be open all day, so remember to vote on July 5th!
