Just 1 year ago everything started. What we are now, what Terra is now.
We were born 12 months ago, in December of 2010. It began as an idea (and a dream) of many of making an Pan-American alliance, and getting all the powerful countries of the Americas (USA, Brazil, Argentina and Canada) together. The idea was just great, since these 4 countries could win alone 5 rounds at night without any problem, making them difficult to beat.

At the end of November, Brazil was leaving the dying alliance Phoenix, and was looking for a new place where to stay. Likewise, the USA was alliance-less. USA had left EDEN a long time ago, but had never joined another. Leading USA we had Josh Frost and Haliman, and by Brazil’s side we had fabio and Vigoncalves. Canada and Argentina were still in their alliances (EDEN and Phoenix), leading to some tensions and problems, but especially for Argentina, since almost all of its new allies were going to be the ones which they were fighting some days ago.

PANAM began with USA, Brazil and Japan (a really close friend of USA back then), with participation but not membership by Canada and a similiar situation with Argentia led by Tavo92. It was not until January when Argentina, which was then led by Jockey and FlorenciaC, and Canada, led by aeriala, officially joined PANAM. Furthermore many non-American countries were interested in the idea on which the alliance was based, such as Turkey, Russia, France and the UK. These countries joined PANAM in February.
It may be funny, but our first 2 months we had no HQ, because of the size of our alliance (it was way too small to have a HQ). But with our 8 members, an HQ was a need. So in February St. Krems became in the first PANAM’s SG and Tavo92 became in the first SC.

But we also were having big problems. As the alliance was formed from countries previously under different alliances, many members of our alliance were still friends of members of the opposite side. In one hand we had Indonesia NE’ing USA, which made some Argentinian citizens fight for Indo, and on the other hand we had the USA fighting for Greece (historic ally of the USA) against Turkey, which made Turkey get mad and finally leave PANAM on March 11th, 2011.

In March, jamesw became in SG and FlorenciaC in his deputy. Artela became in SC and Pfeiffer in her deputy. This month, Germany and Portugal joined PANAM. With this addition, it was time to change our name. By adding our European brothers, we weren’t an Americas-centric alliance anymore. A new name and logo were decided upon by contest, and out of it came the alliance we know today: TERRA



At the end of the month, james had a few issues in real life, and FlorenciaC became in the SG. In April, FlorenciaC and dermont were the SGs, and as SCs there were antonio_salgado (jazar), Tavo92, and dinossauro (a primeria dama). UK left the alliance -the internal joke back then was “If you don’t lose and win a member per month, then you’re doing it wrong”-, due to problems with EDEN, specifically with Ireland-Canada-USA, UK alleged that Terra was EDEN’s puppet. In May, Laxsnor became the SG, and FlorenciaC, hopez0r and Glove were the SCs.

In June, Chile joined Terra, Emerick was elected as SG, and aeriala was elected as SC. This was a catastrophic month, and almost the last one of Terra. USA got erased, so did Canada, Brazil, France, Germany... and well you get the idea. Argentina and Portugal decided to leave the alliance, because of the lack of leadership that Emerick had, and because Terra wasn’t working at all.

At this point, most people were ready to call it a day and declare Terra dead. Everybody called for a new alliance with the EDEN countries, but the newly elected SGs of July, dermont and FlorenciaC, would make it work. With kev2969 as SC, they reorganized the alliance, and saved it. It was a hard work, and they essentially rebuilt the alliance from scratch. The times were dire, 100% of our members were under occupation, and they were all dying slowly. The cooperation and communication that was implemented that month among the members was crucial, and allowed Terra to keep living, and also made our members believe in the alliance again. Japan was kicked out due strong rumors of them willing to cooperate with ONE over Terra and its former allies, but like the old joke, a few days after this Cyprus joined Terra.




Terra: Fight against ONE, save a cat

In August Blank Keating was elected as SG, and Jean90, Squibeel and Wizzard.de as SCs. In September Dermont and FlorenciaC became in SGs, and Vanek26 and Oddkid in SCs. The shining moment of September was when Terra and EDEN took London, in the epic battle, but September also saw the liberation of half of France and half of Germany from Polish occupation.



Then in October kev2969, Vanek26 and Oblige became in SGs and Gabrik, Oddkid and Jean90 were elected as SCs. We would succesfully cut all Spain’s resources for first time, and we also could wipe Spain from the map, with the help Croatia. In addition to wiping Spain, Terra and our EDEN allies China and Australia managed to take every single Indonesian region. Even these successes, however, paled in the face of the problems faced by TERRA at the end of the month, when Spain, Serbia, and Poland reoccupied Germany and France, and invaded the United States.



In November kev2969 and Oblige were elected as SGs, and Vanek26 became the SC. Brazil was being attacked by Spain and then by Indonesia, however Argentina and Bolivia ended the Spanish war and the Argies got into a war with Spain, where they would successfully cut the Spanish resources and win in all their direct battles. USA could liberate their regions from Spain, and they started winning the initiative in their wars against Poland and Serbia. And Brazil could retake their original region under Indonesian occupation.
In the lastest elections FlorenciaC and hopez0r were elected as SGs, and Vanek26 as SC.



We have had our ups and downs, our internal problems, our good moments, like in every Alliance. Many people said that Terra wasn’t going to last not even a single month, and we’ve lasted 1 whole year. And there’s a long way left still. We’re not even close to die. We want to thank everybody for this, an alliance can’t be alive without its countries and its people. Terra is what is because we had people believing in it, we had people that thought it was possible, and in fact it was.
