[PotUS] The Halfway Point

Day 4,565, 21:01 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Greetings fellow citizens of the eUSA! If the title of this article didn’t give it away today (May 20th) marks the halfway point of this Presidential term. As no doubt you remember I campaigned and planned for this term to be a heavy revival on the Domestic front. While I did have some plans for the eUSA in regards to the world stage the invasions of Serbia and Iran had not yet begun when the campaign season kicked off. As such plans by necessity had to be altered, delayed, and in some cases outright discarded. This is the 5th time I have had the honor of being elected President of the eUSA. While it is a familiar endeavor at this point; it has also been a learning experience. Many things have changed since May of 2016. I have also learned that each term of Leadership at any level be it Party, Congress, and/or Country presents unique challenges. This month has been no different.

This term has been unique not just for the time gap and changes to mechanics, but in terms of new and old friends. This time around I asked players to be on the team that I did not know all that well on a personal level. I was also approached by players that I had not previously had the privilege of working with. There has been no Wild Owl available to run point on the international stage. As such I have worked closely in that arena with Pimpdollaz, Shiloh, Aersidius, DMJ, and RT. They have been rock solid, and with their help we were able to negotiate far better terms from Asteria than the ones offered to other nations they have set their sights on. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with them. Of those I named, DMJ is the only one I previously had an extensive history of working with on the Executive level. It has been an absolute pleasure both strengthening an old friendship with DMJ and forging new bonds of respect and friendship with Pimp, Shiloh, Aersidius, and RT. We will continue to do so for at least the next 15 days.

While we have been thrown some curveballs they have not stopped the Executive team from cranking out articles and new programs. Secretary of Media Wilker Nath is cranking out WHPR articles of quality on a daily basis. I have seen several instances in which he has published several times in a day not just in the WHPR but his own personal newspaper. He has also started publishing Department of Education Articles from the Department of Citizen affairs org. Wilker has been a revelation in terms of his passion, talent, and work ethic. Which brings me to Secretary of Interior KingTaco, he also has been cranking out articles on the Interior Org, creating new programs, administering those programs, publishing and running contests on his personal newspaper, paying for many of those programs with his own money, and just recently after many hours of work and an infusion of his own real life funds to keep the site up he’s created a new Department of Interior site as a one shop stop for utilizing the programs on offer and a place to get easy to understand and use Daily Battle Orders! I urge you to check out the site he has created. (http://www.eusadoi.com/DOI/BO) You will not regret it! Currently there is a discussion open in the public section of Congress to discuss permanent funding for the Interior. It is worth taking a look. Wilker and KingTaco were individuals I did not know before this term. I was impressed by their articles and it was obvious that they care about the eUSA community a great deal. Now I can say I consider them to be my friends. My administration and the eUSA as a whole are better off for their efforts.

One other thing I would urge the citizens of the eUSA to do everyday is to check the new public section of the Executive. Paul Proteus, Aramec, and Scolbert are 3 of my best friends in erepublik. They also happen to be three of the finest writers in this game that I have ever had the privilege of reading. They are funny, witty, whimsical, elegant, down to earth, and just all around magnificent in displaying their literary talents. As just a bit of personal history I ran against Aramec for President twice circa 2014. I was so intimidated by his superior writing skills that I didn’t even attempt to compete in that arena. I wrote short barebones articles in those campaigns. My surrender was so complete that the next time I ran for president and wrote articles to the best of my ability some asked me if I had someone else writing my articles for me. All of that said these 3 are writing dueling Press Briefings that are hilarious and informative in terms of what we in the Executive are working on each day. We publish these briefings often in the aforementioned WHPR as an extra place for it to reach the citizenry of the eUSA.

In the very near future we will have available all of our safe states, and multiple TWs. The lack of resources and regions has led to a dramatic decline in productivity. This led to us having to temporarily shelve a National CoOp. Max our Secretary of Citizen affairs has been chomping at the bit to get this up and running. In the coming days we will be calling for people to become a part of this program. Once it is established it will be self sustaining and it will be funded entirely by private dollars. I personally plan to donate a great deal of my own personal resources to this project because I strongly believe it will establish something of lasting benefit to our citizens. I urge any citizens in a position to do so to also help this project grow. We have been knocked around a bit here in recent days weeks months years, but we will come out of it with a secure position, a strong economy, and a very bright future. The hits keep on coming but we will continue to push through. When we as a community work together we have accomplished amazing things. The last 15 days have shown me that we still have that spark.

This map was published in the WHPR recently. It is what we can expect the eUSA to look like for the next 6 months once all of the nations referenced have established their positions on the map. As I mentioned in my last article, I fully recognize that this will not be universally loved both here in the eUSA and amongst our Allies. However, I have always tried to govern with a simple philosophy: “Wherever possible the sitting CP should not leave their successor, and by extension the country a mess to clean up.” That is what I believe we have done here. We have positioned the eUSA to not just survive but be in control of her own destiny stronger and more organized than she has been in quite some time.

Before closing this article I would like to briefly address the situation surrounding the Party President of WTP. A blacklist vote was successful for a coordinated end run around IES regulations. I was involved in writing and passing changes to IES protocols in 2013 that are still part of our immigration process today. I have nothing but respect for IES Director Rainy Sunday. She and I have not always agreed on things and in some instances the clashes we had were more than a little frustrating for me. However, we have also worked closely together in the waning days of USAF. I think the whisper campaign meant to cast aspersions on her loyalties and character have been reprehensible. There are a select few here in the eUSA that have done everything they can for years to keep the lights on in our community. They have been here while many of the rest of us have drifted in and out ensuring there is a community we recognize when we return. Rainy is one of them. She should be above reproach. Her many years of service have earned that in my view.

I cut my teeth on the national scene in ATO. My ingame bio says I was Secretary of Homeland Security 6 times. I am not sure but I think it was more both officially and unofficially at times I was asked at the 11th hour to organize ATO efforts if the Secretary of DHS was unable to do so for one reason or another. As such watching someone attempt to overturn laws that are in place for good reasons by attacking the Director of IES , complaining about fairness (an unquantifiable commodity), and then circumventing those laws after failing to pass a legislative solution to their liking has stirred up my old DHS roots. Protecting the sovereignty of the eUSA and our elections is a cause that will always be near and dear to me. I think a blacklist was warranted. However, I do not think we need to attack WTP or paint their entire Party with the same tarnished brush. I have been assured by leaders within WTP that they will get their own house in order. I trust them to do so, but would also like to make it known that if they need help the Executive is very willing to offer any and all assistance in helping them reclaim their Party. We are stronger when we work in common cause to overcome obstacles. Let’s continue to do so. Full steam ahead eUSA! As always I thank you for taking the time to read.
