Citizenship and PTOs
New Era has been in deep discussion over recent events in the eUK.
Moving forwards, the New Era Council hereby puts out a statement to the effect that:-
- we express our disappointment with the recent trend of PTOing political parties in the eUK; PTOing of our party is something New Era has had to fight on a monthly basis since its inception
- we commiserate especially with members of UKPP who have seen their party PTO'd again and reiterate we had nothing to do with it
- we reiterate our loyalty to the eUK
- we note the lack of any citizenship procedure or guidelines has caused trouble for the eUK recently
- we acknowledge that New Era has however exacerbated tensions in the eUK by granting citizenship to controversial individuals, esp those from eSerbia
- we reiterate that we are not against citizenship procedure per se and have in fact actively campaigned for guidelines at the very least
- we consider however that any proposed citizenship procedure must have the main parties and their PPs on board for it to be effective
- we also consider that any proposed citizenship procedure must be fair and impartial (i.e. not just on Keers'/Kravenn's say so)
- we feel it important to state that New Era took the decision to grant certain controversial citizenship passes in order to highlight the issues of foreign influence in the eUK, esp with regard to ePoland; the way we were steamrolled into Sirius and the arbitrary banning of congressmen
- in that regard, we feel that by protesting against foreign influence and undemocratic actions, we have acted in the best interests of the eUK
Nevertheless, it is clear that something has to change.
As such, and without precondition, we have decided to halt the granting of citizenship passes to controversial foreign individuals; esp those from eSerbia.
Any such passes granted by New Era congressmen from now on will be against against party policy - if it happens, congressmen will then be subject to internal party discipline and will be unlikely to be picked for congress next time.
Further, we suggest an all-party Citizenship Conference.
We invite representatives of all the main parties to attend including representatives from the UKPP leadership in exile.
We suggest the conference take place on IRC on Thu 20/03/2014 @ 8pm UK time in our channel, #newera.
We are open however to changing the date and location of the conference.
PMs will be sent out to the relevant vPPs and PPs shortly.
The purpose of the Conference will be to discuss proposals for Citizenship Procedure with a view to all-party agreement.

in that regard, we feel that by letting in Serbian PTOers and getting ESO and UKPP PTOed and increasing our voter base with ~40 hostile enemies, we have acted in the best interests of ourselves*
as far as I can see, none of the individuals we let in were involved in the PTO of UKPP. Indeed, it was a UKPP congressman that let in their new PP - go figure. As for ESO, I'm not even sure it has been PTO'd.
As for acting in the best interests of the eUK, I don't think you personally are even qualified to comment.
I'm sure that you are the best loyal and patriotic eUK citizen to lead the conference.
Need to mention that since Feb 26 : all your CS passes were given to Serbians citizens (who are hostile to eUK)
From Jan 25 to Feb 25 : One of you CS pass was given to a serbian who was elected on the list of your party and gave CS to his serbian friends. Another one is fighting against interests of our alliance.
Also, you will explain how you plan to remove these hostile citizens from eUK or it is just a nice and lovely ads ?
as far as I can see, one guy was let in but the other votes which came in are still questionable as to who voted? I wonder who let in A LOT more PTOers?
And to be honest, I'm not very fussed on what a PTO backer personally thinks.
Is fighting against the alliance really that bad? Surely it's acceptable for people to express their opinions about alliances just as people express their opinions about Britain's EU membership in real life (technically an alliance). Overall, I understand the whole situation and accept the two initial points you make about questioning the degree of Sven's loyalty/patriotism as valid. However, why should fighting against the alliance instantly allow you to be branded a traitor?

When NE started to grant citizenship to Serbians, we were actively fighting against Serbia - the recent near wiping of the eUK by Moldova etc was done with the might of the Serbian army behind it.
Protesting by letting in the enemy is hardly a good form of "protest". Plus adding to the previous stunts by the leading members of NE, this is the most recent activity to screw over the eUK....

Sorry but you and several others must accept partial responsibility for what has happened through your own actions with your stupidity of granting 'protest', and I use that term extremely loosely as I have my doubts, citizenships. When you say that you've stopped I have to ask the question is it because you've used them all already, no I haven't checked the granting list yet but I will.
I must also say it's so nice to see how you're 'helping' to counter this threat with the constant trolling and general crap throwing, nice unity there guys.

I think it's a possitive article and something people were demanding: a clear statement against the PTO. Want to divide or to work together? Want to widen the gap or close ranks ?
Shame they let it happen in the first place by allowing them in to begin with, but at least it would appear that some of them have already used their quota of passes so can't let in anymore 'protest' citizens

There was clear guidelines in the past, but New Era REFUSED to follow it, then as soon as they could they abolished everything relating to it.
Of course you have the power to replace such laws with your own but you wanted a free and open way of doing it that meant it was upto the person themselves to use common sense.
Common sense would say dont allow people in from Enemy nations and Enemy MU's. And yet here we are again seeing NE refused to lisen to common sense. Infact the leaders including yourselfs have PUT eUK in danger on PURPOSE just to try and get your own way.
Why now after a very long history Of NE leaders activity Fighting against the UK. both politically and on the battlefield should we believe now you want what is best for the UK.
Ah, but in NE literature, the best for the eUK is TUP not being in power and having Serbian overlords is preferable for everyone. If the PTO is successful, I fully expect Big Ant to reappear and stand for CP again....

People need to calm down, if New Era are going to stop allowing possible PTOers into the country we should all be happy and grateful for the cooperation, I don't know why people commenting above feel they need to continue the attack on New Era.
Stopping (not even really fixing) the problem that you yourself created is hardly a laudable accomplishment.
Am I glad that NE is finally being logical? Yes, but that doesn't excuse the fact that we're in this mess in the first place because of the decisions players like Sven made.
Good news however I'll remain skeptical until seeing who is chosen for the NE congress list this month.

Now Sven, are we super-duper sure that it wasn't the other way round and the congressmen were banned after letting in a fucktonne of Serbians, not banned then did so?
Well, yeah, personally, I'm pretty sure - I left when I found out what was going on but returned when congress when sTUPid and started banning people willynilly.
On a positive note re your criticism however, I'm a fan of the word "fucktonne".
I don't doubt that, but I think when things like that are written (which we all know aren't true) it undermines the positives.

On the Sirius issue, congress was informed and last time I checked they voted both to leave TWO and join Sirius. Ingame. They chose... including NE members... Sirius. Democracy means you accept the will of the majority.
the deal was already done. all congress did was rubber stamp a decision you'd already taken some time ago.
There was very little, if any, discussion about such a major of tack, and then we were steamrollered into a quick vote.
Rubberstamp means a vote where whatever the outcome of the vote there will be the same result. If they had voted no, we would not have left two. We would not be in Sirius. Also don't patronise them by suggesting they are incapable of understanding.
Actually, I have to agree with Sven on this issue; there was no full vote on joining Sirius. As I remember it Count Drakula submitted the charter to us, and then after a few days said there had been no objections to it so we joined. I never really remember there being any debate over a choice of Alliance; Whilst personally I was and still am in favour of joining Sirius, I would've liked to have seen time to consider any other options that may be open to us.

Hopefully, NE Leaders will help with some messaging of NE members in the attempt to block UKPP/ESO from running Congress, and if you haven't been approached already I would be happy to speak with you guys about that/
