A PTO and You

Day 2,310, 13:55 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Massacar

Over the past few weeks PTO's have been a hot topic for discussion, and I always find a few people in the comments who aren't informed as to what is going on. This article is for those people who have yet to be informed as to what PTO's entail.

PTO- Short for Political Take-over

A PTO is the political conquest of a country, this involves the controlling of political parities, ergo the Congress and eventually the Presidency.

A PTO is typically a threat from external forces (A rival country). All that needs to be done is for one of the top 5 Political Parties to be taken over by a hostile PP then it can all go downhill from there.

The domino effect in politics

Once this hostile PP is in control, they can select hostile party members to be their next congressmen, which will allow them to grant 4 Citizenship per seat. Gradually this allows the host country (eUK in this case) to be overrun and lose political control. Once this control is lost, the only reasonable ways to regain power are via being "wiped" by a friendly nation.

We'd have to call Poland in to save our butts

Negative Effects of a PTO

Many individuals trolling the feeds and comment sections of articles like to claim that there are no negative side effects to a PTO, this is nothing short of utter bull-Sh*%. Because of the loss of the political control there are many negative side effects. (This list is not definitive, there may be more negatives than listed below)

1. Loss of power of taxation- The new government can levy as high a tax they wish on everything, and purposefully end up crashing our markets. As a result, work tax can reach ludicrous heights, food and weapons can become too expensive to purchase, and everything goes in the toilet.

2. Loss of control of the treasury- In relation to the aforementioned negative, all holdings of the government are now in hostile hands (Once majority is achieved). This means they can donate the treasury to whatever organizations they see fit.

3. Loss of Diplomatic control- Essentially, whoever has taken over can declare war on all of our allies and/or ruin any other war efforts. Once they take the presidency they can remove us from our official alliance.

4.Eventual Wipe- As a result of the PTO, we will need to be wiped in order to stop the election of congress. Aside from the lack of government, we will lose access to all of our territorial bonuses, furthering the negative impact on our economy.

What You Can Do

There are many things that any player of this game can do to help prevent these events. Here are just a couple basic things.
1. If elected to congress, don't allow in un-screened citizen candidates.

2. Be politically aware and never vote blindly. No one political party has all the answers, so go out there and ask around (take everything with a grain of salt, do your own research).

3. If aware of a threat, make it known.

4. Don't vote for a party that has been commandeered (Unfortunately the UKPP during this March election). For this coming election parties such as TUP, WRP, UKRP and the PCP shall be safe (or at least safer) parties to vote for.

5. Fight the enemy, not each other. Political rivalries are all well and good, but they should be fought when the country is not about to be overtaken by a foreign entity.

Share and shout this article to anyone who needs to know. Education is the first and often best weapon against these types of threats.

Now come forth you trolls of the eUK and mock me, I know you will whether I invite you or not (looking at you Dapper and Sexegenarian).
