[MoHA] Weekly Press Release and Caption Competition

Day 3,792, 05:19 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Weekly Press Release - Sunday 08/04/2018.

Good afternoon all - this is the press release at the end of the first week of this presidential term, and Jamesw’s third consecutive term as president. His cabinet remains largely unchanged, with Myself Mr Woldy as Minister of Home Affairs; Dave Trenga as Minister of Defence, bu tnow also covering Foreign Affairs; Huey George as Minister of Finance accompanied by the returning Spite313 (formerly Iain Keers).

It’s a good idea to subscribe to this paper to follow the updates and games published by the MoHA.

Ministerial updates

Prime Minister - Jamesw:
“So whilst I did still do my best to keep a public face and keep up with new players/articles/etc, I was still around, but a little less vocal this week. In the first half of the week, it was because there was a ton of annoying stuff to do with allies, and generally reacting to the USA invasion. We could have gone in, but ultimately we don't have the damage to contribute, and with Ireland at the time seemingly being ignored, I assumed we'd soon be blocked off anyway. Ultimately though, I made the call to not take us in for a simple reason: there's no fun in it. They aren't contesting the war, and they aren't really getting allied support: as fun as kicking the US would be, I dont really think taking part in a gangbang is useful. We prefer to receive a gangbang, amirite!?

The second half of the week saw me dragged into politics stuff. Despite the fact we all knew Wayne wasn't running seriously, as with all my runs I didn't want to take anything for granted, and did all the articles/messaging as normal for one simple reason: an election can be a way to encourage people to get involve😛 and thankfully this has worked. There's a couple of people helping Huey, and a couple others helping Woldy: MoHA has a returning ex minister, a couple of players who have never been in government before, and a couple of players returning from last month: so all in all, a successful few days.

Other than that, as Dave is on his jollies I rolled out our CO policy today, for anyone who hasn't yet read it, you can find it here: erepublik.com/en/article/2668690

Minister of Finance - Huey George & Spite:
“The MoF has continued with the recording our daily snapshots of the economy eUK to add to the long-term records and managing our Government and BoE Trust Monetary Market Investments.”

Minister of Defence & Foreign Affairs - Dave Trenga:
“Last week the MoD has not been to active due to holidays. James have been great keeping up to date with orders on the mass messages as well as keeping on top of the CO scheme was announced in article earlier this week. MoD will be hosing the National Strike today between 14.00 and 16.00.”

Minister of Home Affairs - Mr Woldy:
“I’m happy to say we’ve gotten a good group of eager recruits this month, and in addition to Great Scott, the innovative Joshinius has launched a treasure hunting game in which the public can win prizes simply by guessing the square that they’re hidden in! We’ve got a couple more games in the works for people to play that will hopefully be launched over the coming weeks.

We also intend to review our new player guides and plug any glaring gaps in them, or tart them up in instances where they are a bit drole. If you are a new player, please message me telling me if you ever saw our guides, if they were any good, or what you might want covered in guides/what you found difficult.

We are going to review our mentor system this month and propose ways to make our mentors more widely utilised by new players.”

For the second week in a row Perilouspanther has won the caption competition. He is on fire, and probably will end up literally on fire if he keeps sweeping up the prizes.
