[MoFA] Government Statement on Croat-Indian War

Tragically, Ireland's allies have gone to war. Diplomatic conflicts in India over territorial issues have flared into full blown military conflict, and two of our reliable friends have found themselves fighting against each other.
The Irish Government, not wishing to alienate either side by throwing its weight behind one or the other of the nations, shall not be participating in this war in any manner.
Furthermore, we urge the Croatian and Indian governments to come to a peaceful solution. It is not in any of our strategic interests to fight such a war.
We hope that we can remain friends with both India and Croatia.

Agreed entirely. It's the best decision for any government to choose and allow citizens to make their own decision on an individual level. The fact is, India has nowhere near the rich history Croatia has with Ireland. Some will fight for Croatia through thick and thin, repaying them for their friendship through all these years. Others will fight for India, who was betrayed and personally insulted as an RL nation. The decision correctly lays with the individual.

Croatia has acted extremely irresponsibly, unfairly and I am truly repulsed by their actions. I will most certainly be defending India on this issue, and Croatia is seen as nothing but a dishonourable bully in my eyes nowadays due to these actions.

At the same time Hank, you don't help your little brother kill your big brother, which is effectively what one would be talking about in terms of helping India in the long term. Croatia does not possess its original regions and would be hard pressed to recover them, so the proposition that we fight for India is essentially one that we fight to wipe Croatia.
This situation has developed somewhat since it has begun, and neither side is looking like saints.
