Hello eUK.

Today is the turn of my Military/Foreign Affairs Manifesto. I decided to publish this manifesto before the normal schedule of CP candidates (Domestics, then economics, then Military/FA) because I feel this is possibly the most important manifesto considering the circumstances we find ourselves in. I’ve tried to keep the word count to a minimum so I hope you enjoy reading.

Having a Natural Enemy has become almost a necessity for a country that wants to stay involved in the upper echelons of Foreign Affairs world wide as with the recent changes by the admins means that having a Natural Enemy gives +10% strength and rank points, which is crucial in a country’s development. As PM I will ensure that we have a Natural Enemy set for most of the time to ensure we do not fall behind countries of a similar size. One way of doing this will be through diplomacy, arranging training wars with our neighbours like the one currently beginning with Canada, which has the double benefit of giving us the important strength and rank bonus as well as helping us improve relations with our neighbours, another key aim of this term. The other way will of course be through wars of conquest, but we will only undertake these if we can be sure they will not alienate important potential allies, so we will be cautious in this area to avoid getting into a war we can’t win. We will also look to arrange region swaps with neighbouring countries such as France, using a friendly nation as a third party to avoid losing MPPs and gold, to obtain us valuable resources like Grain which would provide a vital boost to our economy which will improve our nation as a whole both militarily and diplomatically.

The other main aim of the term diplomatically will be ensuring that the eUK join an alliance by the end of the term, which is an essential step in the path to my ultimate goal for this presidential term, to strengthen the eUK on the global stage. This will of course be a multi faceted effort but a key part of this will be getting involved in a major new alliance. We are at a crossroads internationally and which we way choose to go will affect the UK for many months to come. We will attempt to be slightly more proactive than the previous couple of governments in achieving this goal and will try to improve communication with congress. A key part of our alliance policy is the creation of a new role, Alliance Liaison, whose sole aim will be to get us involved in an alliance and take an important role in alliance discussions. I have already decided that this role will be taken by Jamesw, whose many contacts in erep and having worked in the Phoenix alliance command will really help speed up the process of joining an alliance and I’m sure his advice will prove invaluable. The MoFA will still be heavily involved in alliance talks, but having two people working on it instead of one should hopefully speed up the process no end.


My Alliance Liaison, hopefully putting him in this position will utilize his key skills more.

As mentioned in my announcement article, every Ministry will have a Junior minister who will learn about the role to prepare themselves to be Ministers of the future as well as assist the Minister in the running of the Ministry. In the MoFA the JM will be a key person, working with ambassadors to ensure their activity and covering for them in certain situations. They will also be responsible for setting up things like the previous Brazil-UK Summit and the InterContinental Summit to boost our relations with a variety of countries around the world. They will also work closely with the MoFA on the bread and butter of diplomacy, things like talking to foreign ambassadors and even arranging MPPs.

A key goal of our government is to make the Military the best it can possibly be. My Vice Presidential candidate has been a member of Military Command, and I will attempt to utilise his and of course the current MoD’s expertise to great effect should I become President. The Military has just gone through a period of restructuring which I feel is a great step, with the new Tri-Service Model hopefully making things easier to understand for new players, and improve morale and competition between older army members.

I would like to take things further however by evaluating with the MoD whether it would be possible to implement a totally non IRC section of the military. Soldiers could then get orders and request supplies directly through our already excellent military hub, as some citizens simply don’t have time to log onto IRC regularly. Another interesting thing I would investigate re-introducing would be an IRC channel for civilian fighters so they could strike in important battles, which could be tied in with a free guns program which I’ll elaborate further on in further manifestos - something which is already done in many countries which would ensure that people who for whatever reason don’t want to join the army are still able to fight at the right place at the right time and to also give people who are normally two clickers an incentive to fight.

One other thing that has been argued about a lot (especially by one of my opponents, Jhorlin) is militias such as the Black Watch, Home Guard and Camelot. I believe that if a group of people decide they don’t want to join the army we shouldn’t marginalise them like Jhorlin has suggested in the past. Instead, we should be aiming to utilise them effectively to improve on our national damage output. I therefore believe that something the Army have already begun doing, opening up the military hub to these militias to ensure they receive orders based on what will best benefit the UK so their damage is used effectively. I am sure the militias would have no problem integrating with the army whilst still retaining some independence from the chain of command, answering directly to the MoD.

These militias could also take part in the civilian strikes I mentioned earlier. To further improve coordination between our brilliant armed forces, Militias whose autonomy we respect, and of course the general public.

One final thing we aim to do is increase military funding as there is a chance that admins may change the MM rules related to companies. The inability of GM’s to transfer money out of company accounts without paying taxes could lead to significant rise in income via taxes. Similarly, more income will be generated through the mechanisms the army operates (in supplying troops) and so not only will funding rise to compensate for this, but it will be further increased to accommodate our extra finances. 😉

- I will not alienate surrounding countries.
- The UK will take massive steps to joining an alliance during my term; with help from the Alliance Liaison
- The jMoFA will be setting up many important summits with other countries to improve relations
- Non IRC section of the Military
- Civilian IRC Strike channel for important battles
- Free guns revival!
- Militas to be utilized effectively by having access to the Military Hub.
- Making use of admin changes to the MM and Companies (Income tax) to increase the army budget.
