Hello eUK.

This is my Economic Manifesto. If you have been fluent in erepublik changes then you’ll know that the economy module is currently going through minor tweaks every week or so. Though the final changes won’t be done for another month or two; I’m hoping to outline my plans for the economic Ministries in government and how they will run if I am elected.

Previous Manifestos:
Intent to run Manifesto + Cabinet Structure
Military/Foreign Affairs Manifesto

Once again I remind you cabinet apps are open. Please go here and log into the API system and send me a application. If you do not want to use the API then please either contact me in-game or on the forums.

Ministry of Tech Announcement

Before getting into the big economic information in this manifesto I am delighted to announce that I am making a change to my cabinet structure. I originally left out the Ministry of Technology because I felt that the team did not really achieve much over the last few months and I thought there was no point in continuing a ministry for it. Don’t get me wrong; I still had plans for a technology department but I didn’t think it needed a ministry.

However; as outlined in my initial manifesto. I am open to feedback from Anyone and since there is a high demand (pinging me on IRC lots) and a promise of real progress in the next month I have decided to make it an official ministry under the Shabado administration. I have seen myself that we have many talented techies and a few more new people on board so I believe that the Ministry can complete its backlog of work this month.

General stuff

The main question on everyone mind from my previous manifesto (thanks to my opponent who mentioned it first) is tax. Many believe that if I’m elected I will increase tax to fund schemes such as free guns.

Now. Let me tell you now. If I win the presidential elections I would be looking to reduce some taxes You may be asking how I’ll be able to do that. I admit that it does sound like a tinfoil hat sort of thing to say but if you look at the facts and what the admins are planning to implement then you’ll see that we can reduce our taxes without sacrificing our income.

My plans for taxes are simple. Firstly I plan to continue the work that the last congress and our current congress did and review the taxes we’ve recently changed. Things such as keeping import taxes high whilst reviewing our current income tax and VAT percentages. My initial idea is to reduce income tax once the new rules regarding the MM and companies come in. We’re all guilty of using the MM to avoid tax every now and then but now that companies owners will soon not be able to avoid it we might as well do some research into what percentage is a respectable figure. I’d imagine that even by reducing the income tax after the update we’ll still see some small increase in income. This will help fund things like the free guns scheme and many other things. To reduce Income tax though we’ll have to consider the rise in VAT to stop the extra income being passed onto the consumer straight away. I’ll be looking to price our taxes competitively which could lead to some foreign businesses to relocate to the UK.

Ministry of Finance

The structure of this Ministry this month will be as follows. 1 Minister; 1 junior Minister.
My ideas for the MoF role are simple. if we achieve what we want to achieve then we’ll be looking at a hefty reserve in GOLD at the end of the month.

First and foremost I know that many company owners have been watching the GBP market recently after the admins dastardly. It looks to be slowly recovering now but I still believe we should be trying our best to regulate the currency. The actual cost of regulating costs a ton of gold a day. (100s last week) so we’ll be trying our best to keep it under control and I’ll be wanting to maintain a minimum reserve that is specifically intended to manage the Monetary Market.

Speaking of gold brings me to my next point. Many of you will have read my introduction manifesto where I suggested that we were sitting on a goldmine. The gold reward system has been suggested in the past but never before have there been such easy offers to complete. All you have to do is watch a small video and you gain 1 gold. What I am suggesting is to start a nationwide campaign to get citizens of the UK to watch these offers when they appear (every few days on average) and donate their 1g to the Bank of England. Every piece of gold makes a difference. If I get elected then my initial target from this scheme would be to raise at least 100g. This would however be up to everyone as citizens not to be greedy and to help out. look here

The MoF will have 1 Junior Minister (as I mentioned above). I plan to use this role to inform congress more of what is going on with our income to help with the ongoing tax discussions (also mentioned above). The type of report I would like to see would look something like this and it would make use of a Junior Minister position in this ministry and could quite possibly help us look for replacements A.T. (After Thatcher ;_😉

Ministry of Trade

Like the MoF; this Ministry will have 1 Minister and 1 JM.

The MoT is quite an important role I think for this month. I’ve said this many times already but with so many changes coming and going we need to keep an eye on things and especially the prices of products on the eUK Market. This is why my priority for the MoT this month is to continue to write awesome reports on the state of the market. Hofkens has been a great MoT this month and I hope whoever applies this month can write reports as good as his.
The other big role for the MoT this month will be to finish writing an official company guide. It has been discussed before but nothing was ever released for it. I am aware that there are other ones floating about but I wanted to get an official government backed on into the media. The JMoT Will also be helping on this project.

One final role for the MoT this month is something that I’m not entirely sure on and will require me taking a decision closer to the time. As explained in my Military/FA manifesto nothing alliance wise is set in stone. However I would like to start building up a little food reserve using the old MoW companies we still have. Whether or not it will be necessary will have to wait until we know more about the alliance structures.

The Junior MoT this month will have an interesting role. I envision that they will be looking more into the developed foreign markets. I’m hoping a weekly article by the jMoT can advise UK company owners where the best place to export to would be. I think that the citizens who have companies should be trying to export their goods. By exporting goods we increase the amount of foreign currency and gold that enriches our local economy. Selling domestically damages it.

One of the first cross ministry area mix ups I have installed. The jMoT will cooperate with the MoHA team to input a small piece into the Bidaily Domestic orders (more info soon!) showing the best food prices per Q along with informing managers about government incentives.
