Join the new world

Well here we are in July, and just like the weather, ESO is HOT HOT HOT!

Thanks to our own dedicated players and our allies, we have ourselves one very special region to run candidates in for Congress this month. A good thing that it's London - the Olympics are starting soon.


I think we'll all agree that this is a better mascot than the official London 2012 ones...

So without further ado, let me introduce you to the LOVELY, the TALENTED, and extremely awESOme candidates we have for Congress this month!



Blue & Evil

First out of the gate we have Blue & Evil (B&E). Despite his name he's not really evil....or really even quasi-evil. Maybe meta-evil, I'm not 100% sure yet. Many of you will recognize this guy - he's been the lead guy in organizing the National Health Service, and has tirelessly been working to get food and support to the new players of the UK. As a current government minister, he is well versed on what is going on in UK affairs. You might also recognize him as King Baratheon if you hang about the forums. I promise you he has all the cunning of Stannis, the flair of Renly, and the sobriety of Robert!

Klurr

Making her second run is Klurr, a very strong up and coming UK player. She missed out on a Congress seat by one vote last month, and I will readily admit that I was rooting for her! A cupcake fan with the glamour of Gaga, what's not to like? To read up on her very rational policy standpoints, take a peek at her candidacy article here



Lord Lewis Cromwell

A recently revived player, and a sight for sore eyes! LLC was one of the leading figures in ESO for many months, and he will be a great PP (and CP?) one day I am certain. A talented graphic artist (check out his forum avatar and banner), LLC is a perennial optimist and is always looking for ways to improve the eUK, check out his manifesto

Lord Reincarnate

Reincarnate - he of the crusty demeanour and lover of fancy mo's. Reincarnate is famous on irc for his drunken philosophy lessons, some of which inspire, others of which are unintelligible. I consider him to be part of what I refer to as the 'ESOcalypse' - four ESO/Legion members that dominate in Division 3. He's done a ton of damage, supplies for the ESO Legion, and has a great understanding of military affairs.



Scipio the Great

A very old player, Scipio has been involved in the UK military for the majority of his e-Life. Scipio has been actively fighting for as long as I can remember. A 5 time former Congressman, he knows his way around the game and would be a solid addition to Congress.

ApronChef

His avatar is indicative of his personality - warm, helpful, generous, and fuzzy! Apron has an excellent financial mind, being one of the founders of the Trade Federation. He has been the ESO Party President in the past and has been involved in the MoHA in a number of ways over several CP terms. A great guy and a personal friend, I can't say enough good things 😃

Tom Falco

Our youngest candidate, Tom expressed interest in eUK politics from day one. ESO has always been a proponent of the talent and opportunity that new players possess and can provide, and I am very glad that Tom has chosen to run. Best wishes Tom!

The Great One 1997

A recent addition to the eUK community, The Great One hails from Macedonia, our long-time allies and fellow ONE member. He's been actively involved in the UK since migrating, and he's looking for his first Congress medal. Good luck!



Ando Calrissian

Finally that brings up to Ando. When I think of Ando I think of two words - amazingly active. He's always about, and is always willing to lend a hand. Legion member and all-around good guy, definitely a worthy candidate. Plus he's just one 'L' short of the only racial minority in Star Wars! Want to know more? Read his article here



So there you have it, a slate of bright, friendly, and active players. Every one of them would appreciate your vote on the 25th!



ESO - What are we all about anyway?

All of these candidates are running under the ESO banner, so I should make a mention of what the ESO perspective for the UK is all about. I think you can get a good sense by looking at what we have communally selected as our Mission Statement.

ESO is a community of individuals that aspires to:

Collectively work toward the betterment of the eUK,
Provide opportunities for all players, regardless of experience or past history,
To support each other in times of difficulty and hardship.
Wholeheartedly support the development of new players,
Consider issues based on their merits,
Avoid abusing, insulting or engaging in protracted personal disputes with individuals and parties,
Act with integrity in everything that we do,
And most importantly, we strive to keep the game fun and engaging for all those with whom we share the game.

We may not always accomplish all of this, but it guides the party and our own individual actions. Congress candidates are expected to uphold these values in their official roles.
