Hello e-Ireland and a very Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you. Apologies that this update has come out a little later than planned. I had originally penned a massive update a few days ago that took me close to an hour to complete. eRepublik hates me though and I lost the entire article. I had many other things to attend to both ingame and in real life so I had neither the time nor the will to start it again. Apparently some believe I was not telling the truth about that but there is little I can do to change their minds on that except continue on as best I can.

I'd like to start by thanking my Government who have been putting in massive amounts of effort this term. People here do not know how lucky they are to have people such as Sweet Drinker, IBhoy, MUFC, Padraig, Ethel and many others. I can assure everyone that for the past few months I have never seen a team work harder. There have been close to 10 meetings with twice as many countries so far this term in what has been one of the busiest we have ever had in regards to Foreign Affairs.

We began the month by opening talks with the UK about a possible deal that would benefit Ireland, and their President this term, Talon has proven to be a very fair and likeable person to everyone in our Government. The talks included Ireland, France, Canada and UK. We almost reached an agreement but one of the countries involved could not commit to the offer that was tabled.

With an agreement not forthcoming it was back to business as usual and another couple of NE proposals and subsequent wipes of the UK. For a number of months, in these battles against the UK, it has been Irish Government officials who have been the ones to take the lead role on making sure everything is planned properly.

This has been extra difficult this month due to the internal problems and unrest amongst our great friends in Canada and this has put even more stress than usual on our own team when trying to organise things in battles. Through no fault of our own, some plans have had to be delayed, cancelled and rescheduled because if this. Ireland has many friends on both sides of the internal conflict that has plagued Canada this month and we have tried to remain supportive in whatever way we can. We sincerely hope that Canada can sort through it's problems sometime soon.

Sw33t has continued his amazing work in the MoF which now allows us to have one of the meanest MPP stacks in the game, and Ethel has done great in making sure all of the MPPs are signed in time.

Our Alliance EDEN, while winning on the battlefields has been going through some very painful problems as of late. This is of major concern to us. The problems are between long time alliance members Bulgaria and trialists Turkey. Ireland has consistently stood firm behind our great friends in Bulgaria even when the easy thing would have been not to. Bitter rows between Bulgaria and the previous SC and HQ have caused problems for everyone in EDEN lately. While Ireland will remain committed to EDEN, we cannot agree to a full EDEN member being forced to accept a country they do not want to. Having seen what Bulgaria have done for Ireland on battlefields for the past year, we simply cannot hold our heads high if we do not support them. It is also very painful for us to see the uncertainty between Bulgaria and our other wonderful allies in EDEN.

Our sister allaince Terra have been going through somewhat similar problems that came to a head today with Chile being kicked out because of their problems with Argentina, a country who left Terra a long time ago. This is very worrying for us as it only serves to further dent the faith of Bulgaria in Teden. If these problems are not sorted soon to the satisfaction of both Bulgaria and Chile, and indeed ourselves, then the future for our alliance could be in grave danger and the Irish people who have always been staunchly loyal to the Brotherhood, will have to decide our best course of action.

As people had been complaining for the past few months about being bored of fighting the eUK, we have decided to mix it up a little bit to celebrate St.Patrick's Day. Please pay close attention to official orders for the next few days.

That was all for now and have a great Paddy's Day \o/
