Friends, Romans, Pokémon, lend me your ears…

For what must’ve been a completely bewildering few days since the election, I apologise.

With the subsequent miraculous revivification of the media that had nothing published in it the 4/5 days before the election, the opposition rightfully denouncing role play as sin and then declaring themselves the Iceni tribe, the reestablishment of Personal Union with Belgium from over 8 years ago, the formalization of the Cabal into a Senatorial Republican government, the commencement of our first training war in over 5 months(!), and indeed the shameless public necromancy of since long-rotted statesmen – people may be forgiven for having low expectations for the month…

If you clicked this fearing even more Roman bollocks, fear not – I’ll try and keep these CP updates (reasonably) clear to make up for the sheer over-the-topness rampant everywhere else. However do forgive me for the themed pics to break up the wall of text...

One thing I will say though – irrespective of whether you greatly condemn or approve this sort of general absurdity, is that it is proving reasonably successful in its primary goal of generating interest in our beloved eIsland Home (+Belgium) again. Ish.



FOREIGN AFFAIRS

We’ve started a basic gdoc with relevant info on allies/training wars and suchlike ‘ere

You will be completely unsurprised to hear we are still waiting to hear from Aaron. Subsequently we have sprung into action partially blind – here are a few updates in addition to the gdoc we can give for the moment:-

Ireland

A bit of an awkward one here really. It is still completely acceptable to be mistrustful and vigilant regarding these particular neighbours of ours. A lot of us still remember their sudden transition from an apparent years-long ally to co-occupier with Finland and the USA barely 3 terms ago. A wipe now and then is all part of the game experience and can be forgiven as part of the revolving process.

But what was infuriating was their coordinated effort through embargoes that killed off any production/WaM throughout their month+ long occupation. This was not just to rub it in but also to directly kill off our community and ultimately make the occupation long-term.

Had we not been heroically bailed out by Orion I expect we may’ve ended up truly forgotten and joined the other Ghostly States in tranquil irrelevance. They would not have willingly released us.

And whilst I believe the current Irish overtures on the benefits of our training war are genuine and they indeed have a few decent lads that’re fun to work with, I doubt we will be entertaining any thoughts of another ‘friendship’ for some time soon. We will see with this TW as a first step in normalising relations.

Belgium

With our new random legal claim to a small slice of the European mainland, the government is happy to announce a minor-reverse Brexit of sorts. Pending waiting for the Latvians to bu**** off/lose interest/random plague of locusts that makes them beatable/FragUK buying packs we hope to be adding our new province soon.

The South America Campaigns

This is currently where most of the international activity is being focussed. Those of you who remember our recent disastrous Paraguay Airstrike will be embarrassed to know the campaigns still rage on merrily without us. Slovenia have set up camp in former Venezuela, Portugal are retaking their former colony Brazil joined by Iran, and Serbia are holding onto their possessions in Chile. The main front at the moment seems to be between Macedonia and Argentina – keep an eye on their battles to see if you can help keep the wall over 🙂.

A couple of people have suggested we try for another AS but with our training war with Ireland this seems pointless. Further, if we can be frank with each other momentarily, I doubt could even land in our current military state. Which brings me nicely onto the next area of focus….

DEFENCE

As you may have read earlier this department has been in need of some industrial-strength love and care for some time now. We are lucky enough to have a resurgent Chaz and his trusty co-MoD Sambo lead the charge in what will no doubt end up being a very expensive experiment gone wrong…

Simply, we will be looking about reinvesting the taxes we earn into the battles we and our allies need to win. If you thought fighting in the right place and the right time deserves some element of recognition given much of our national damage is largely wasted – you’re completely correct. Depending on the effectiveness of the first few COs you may start making a respectable bit on the side simply by carefully timing when and where you hit for maximum effectiveness.

FINANCE

After months of losing income we would’ve otherwise earned from the monetary market we’re happy to finally reopen the MM Trust. This is essentially a joint venture between private citizens and the government, taking advantage of the profits to be had on the currency market. If you had a bit of cash lying about then it’s madness not to let Huey do his magic and slowly multiply it for you…

Unfortunately we were too late giving out gold loans for the 45% off training grounds offer today. The first two training grounds returns a profit through super soldier medals and typically the government used to help citizens with upgrading these during the promotional offers.
