[AMD4CP] The Spamican Manifesto: Bigger, Better, Bolder

Day 5,644, 04:51 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by AMD.

Another Election Broadcast on behalf of the eUK’s second largest party, The Real Spamicans!

As one election day bleeds into another do your best to resist voter fatigue and turnout on the 5th to vote for your ePresident.

As this is the most important election happening in my life this week, I thought I better present another article for it.

With that in mind, countrymen, countryfolk and countrylife butter, I present my manifesto for the May election!

As I said last month most of you will know me - classic tale of the old statesmen giving the stick another shake.

TRS thinks these ‘shakes’ are important. A lack of competition has inevitably led to eyes being taken of the ball, and in some cases the ball being lost all together. Ensuring there is good competition and a strong party running candidates is good for all us. So whilst I stress that Huey has been an effective CP, there are a few areas I think we need to raise standards on.

Governance and Transparency

I want to outline clearly for the public the roles of the Ministers and any particular projects or schemes they will be administering. This can be published, and shared with congress, and it can be clear who is doing what, and how we can measure whether it is working. We need to encourage more people to step up and be involved so this will sit with a Gov recruitment campaign to support ministers and help them foster new talent.

This might sound pretty basic, but it is these ‘back to basics’ steps that have seen Congress come alive (I think Mr Speaker Woldy said that the highest turnout in years has been secured on a recent vote) and is adding more substance to our community. We should try them with government too.

Ministers and Portfolios

My initial thoughts on these ‘standards and schemes’ are below. Some will include implementing ideas from the previous manifesto and helping Congress with any ideas they come up with. But this is intended as a framework on which my Government can be judged.

These standards are as such:

CP - The CP will be accountable for the cabinet, lead the cabinet, Primus inter pares as it were. The CP will represent the eUK and be responsible for the day to day running and delegation of the cabinet. I think we all agree that Huey has been fantastic, but the man dedicates far too much to this game, and he deserves a break from all the responsibility.

Prime Minister - The PM will be responsible for running citizen incentive programmes aimed at increasing engagement and activity. They will also be the delegated individual to issue government updates about what we are up to.

Finance - The finance minister will keep track of income/outgoings, as well as providing a regular report (at least monthly) on said income and expenditure. They will also make recommendations about budgeting and keeping track of donation proposals.

Foreign Affairs - This minister will be responsible for maintaining at least 10 training wars for our citizens, providing us plenty of opportunities for medal runs and fighting. They will liaise and communicate with our TW partners, and provide feedback to the cabinet on the operations of these wars. We will also commit to having the strongest possible bonuses we can in Scotland for the production line facility of our country.

Defense - This minister will oversee and implement subsidies such as the “bounty scheme” and weapons giveaways. They will provide guidance on which battles we are to win, bringing back the MoD article as a start. They will also regularly update our fighters on the medal run guidelines. These were last published months ago, and I feel some citizens may need an update on this.

Home Affairs/Education - To complement fighting subsides an eUK rewards programme will be supported and a framework set up for how to issue rewards to players from an approved budget. This will include rewards for community reporting, games, schemes and programmes encouraging interaction as well as specific support for newer players. Extra support will also be given to private initiatives such as the NHS, and new guides will start to be published to support new players.

A criticism I can see thrown at me is my lack of activity as MoFA. To this I would like to express that this week in congress, I was asked why I am not on telegram by the Prime Minister. I am. In the UK Government group that I am a part of on Telegram there had been no activity in there since November. I have done what I have been asked, which since November has been nothing.

So yes, whilst I need to step up in my role as MoFA, I think it is time for an altogether shake up of the way we do things here.

I know you will be hearing otherwise so it is worth saying again - a vote for AMD is not a vote of dissent or chaos. Does any of the above look like chaos to you? It IS a vote for active competition, standards in government and still a vote for freshness.

I will be looking for volunteers for anyone who wishes to help on any of the above, to help us usher in a new age of activity!

All the best and thanks for reading another lengthy document!
