The NHS; ‘Killing daily’ - Wellness and Fightin in the eUK

Hello new citizens!

One of the largest and most gripping modules in eRepublik is the military module, and as the wonderful admins like to make things interesting and shake it up once in awhile, it be confusing to know exactly what and how to participate in our great nation’s military escapades.

As such, this article aims to explain the basics behind fighting and how you can receive help and guidance when it comes to both military action and maintaining your wellness.

Firstly, you may be wondering why it is important to fight. It is perhaps obvious to say that the more fighters we have, the more effective we can be on the battlefield, both in domestic and foreign conflicts. The bigger kick we can give, the more prestige we can hold, which will of course be helpful when it comes to raising our own status both as a military power and political force. Needless to say, more damage from us means more clout in alliance discussions and it means we can push people around and generally have a bit of fun.

With the new changes to the military module, mobilising as many citizens of different levels as possible has become an issue of greater importance than perhaps it has ever been before. In short, each citizen is now part of a ‘division’; this division is based on what level you are, and, each division has to contest with its equivalent division in the opposing force. That is to say that the division you are in (let’s for example say division 1) fights the same division on the other team and in doing can secure the points needed to win the battle.

Whereas before it was just a brawl for points, it is now important to try and gain as many points from the four divisions as you can, which means ensuring that fighters in all divisions do a good job, which means ensuring that you know how and where to fight.

Fighting

Fighting itself is very straightforward, you simply open the battle (knowing which battle to open will be covered later) and click the big red button that says fight.

Easy!

It is however important to note that when you fight, you lose wellness. What quality weapon you have will alter how effective you are in battle, using a Q1 will cost you more wellness to kill an enemy than it would to use a Q6, and likewise the weapon the enemy uses will also influence this ratio. A Bazooka will kill your enemy and deal 10000 influence at the expense of only 10 health. Similarly your weapons only have a certain amount of ‘uses’, and this too is dependant on what quality weapon you use.

Regaining wellness as you fight will let you kill many more people than you otherwise might (feels good man) so keeping a healthy stock of food in your inventory is also very important when fighting. Upgrading your town hall will get you more health available to use initially, and once that first amount is spent you are given an extra 100 health per hour to fight with. (similarly working and training uses up wellness).

Q1 food heals 2 wellness per use, and Q6 12. But all that food can be expensive right? Getting all that food with which to work, train and fight can be difficult, and getting the guns can be tough too. That’s where the NHS can help you!

The NHS

The NHS is fairly self explanatory - you join, you get top nosh. Ideally we ask that you join the MU, for reasons which will be explained below, though it is not mandatory.

Those division one troopers who join the NHS Military Unit will receive 500 wellness’ worth of food, and 5 Q6 tanks every day they fight. Which is a cracking deal, let me tell you. The MU is open to everyone level 24 and under, and is a great way to get fighting and begin to understand why eJesus put us on this eplanet.

Not only will you receive food and guns, the MU will instruct you as to where you need to fight and offers a community aspect which can help educate you as to the ins and outs of the military module and epolitics. At the very least you should subscribe to the MoD Newspaper (do it now) which will inform you on a day to day basis where you damage is best spent. However joining an MU offers a more in-depth and dramatic channel through which to engage with our enemies.

For those of you who forever reason can’t or won’t join the MU, fear not! We have food for you too. Providing you are less than two months old, you can apply for 400 wellness’ worth of good grub, and you can apply for that here.

It is also through that same link that you can apply for an eUK Mentor to help you through your early days as a plucky young eRepublikan.

And that ladies and gentlemen is our wonderful NHS and a brief guide to fighting in a nutshell. For more info on the latter, a more extensive guide and explanation is available here, courtesy of Max.
