Join the new world

Once upon a time, several years ago, I was a transient member of SFP who was befriended on IRC by one of its most loyal members. While I have had membership in several parties in several eCountries since then, he has maintained his membership in his chosen party, longer than any other player. As I was preparing to write this article, I realized the last article I wrote was to support TheNorm for Party President after a takeover by Cerb. Today, I am again asking for your support for him as SFP PP, this time to safeguard the party and maintain its core values.

You may wonder why he would be the best choice in times of trouble. Many of the reasons I cited in my previous article https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/vote-thenorm-for-pp-2616584/1/20 still apply, but let me just reiterate and re-emphasize a few.

Loyalty
As already stated, nobody has been a member of this party longer or served it more loyally than he has. He has been a commander and supply officer for Bear Cavalry, has served multiple times as Party President (a job which I frankly hate, and I’m sure I’m not the only one), has been a Congress member, and has been a member of the Revolutionary Committee countless times. No matter how much he may disagree with the choices of some other members of the party, he remains to provide a voice of reason.

Stability
In all the ups and downs which are part of the life of a political party over time, TheNorm has been a steadying influence when things got rough, and supportive when times are good.

Persistence
He does not give up. Over the years since we became acquainted, he repeatedly reached out to me, even when I was focused on other things, and finally convinced me to return to the eUS, bringing several other good and loyal players with me. In the process, he has become my close friend, both in game and in real life. This same persistence applies in whatever he does in game, whether it is political, military, or economic.

Intelligence
He is a smart player who reads and understands game mechanics, informs himself about events, and does the math about the economy, and he is willing to share what he knows with players like me who are more focused on the social aspects.

Integrity
When TheNorm speaks, you can be sure he means what he says. He is as genuine as any player you will ever meet. He cannot be corrupted, nor can he be pushed around.

Respect
Even in times when SFP has not been in high favor in the eUS community, TheNorm is respected and trusted by everyone. He has served in Defense and NSC positions in the governments of many CPs, and is a long-standing officer and sometimes second commander of EZC. He also has the support of many of the established members of SFP because they know they can trust him to maintain the democratic principles of the party.

Kindness
This is a quality that is sometimes undervalued in this game, but it is an important one. It wins friends and retains newer players. Many members of SFP and EZC will have observed that he helps others with his time, his influence, and his goods without expectation of return.

In short, I am asking you to vote for TheNorm tomorrow. If you aren’t in SFP, come on over and give it a try, and give him your support. He won’t let you down.
