Anyone who didn't see Hal running for CP again from a mile away is a fool.
He joined the USAF to get cred as non-JCS. He'll now try to run for POTUS and rework things in a way more favorable to the JCS than things are now. He won't fire everyone over night, he's not that stupid, but he'll slowly help create a path for the JCS to take back what they think is still rightfully theirs.
A history:
- Hal was president, he did stupid shit and quit the game for a few months after his term was up since everyone thought he did stupid shit
- Hal came back and was super gungho pro-JCS during the whole Bradree debacle. Logs from the milforums were c/p'ed way back then showing him plotting underhanded ways of infiltrating Congress or the "new" military from the inside and taking it back over.
- Hal switches from the JCS mil to the USAF for no apparent reason a month or two ago.
- Hal runs for lolesident~
He very well may not make it on the ballot (I suspect he'll get the ~AMP~ nom, though), and I suppose this article will only strengthen his campaign by giving his supporters a boogieman to rally against. I'm fine with that. A little drama here and there is a fun thing in this sometimes boring game.
My purpose is writing this article is two-fold.
One, these are issues worth discussing. I've had multiple political run-ins with Haliman, and he is as underhanded as it comes, whether it be PMing the entire Libertarian Party with a fake org giving members fake voting information or whether it be plotting a way to retake power of the country's military for those who believe they are entitled to it. Props where props are due- Haliman is quite a good politician, in the manipulation of people and events kind of way. But he's a pretty crappy elected official. He should manage campaigns, like I used to do, and step aside, as I eventually understood I had to, for people more suited to the job of running the country.
Two. It very well may be that Hal has only the best of intentions when it comes to the USAF and JCS relations. I sincerely hope he does. But in the case that he doesn't, this article is my insurance policy. I would rather Hal be elected and do a fine job and see him point back at this article and call me a fool than not write about this subject, watch Hal do stupid things again, write complaint articles mid-term instead of now, and be too late to warn of what may come.
Like I said, I'm sure many people will use this article to prop Haliman up and say the elites are trying to tear him down, or something like that. Fine with me. Have a party with that 😃

CRoy, you forget that Haliman can't REALLY be blamed for how bad his month was. He was never online. If he clicked the 'attack' button 3 times his entire term I'd be surprised. Laxsnor could never find him to handle the work that needed doing, and by the end of his term his VP SGGHays had disowned him (Laxsnor only signed on for round 2 in case Haliman won and he needed to stem the bleeding).
Also, his own party wouldn't re-nominate him, so he ran to another, picked their PP as VP, and had to basically beg the membership for that nomination.

CROY I expected better from you, I have worked with you in the past and this seems pretty low for your standards. I do not expect Haliman to undermine the present USAF/CP relationship, it works and it is efficient. As a CP there would be nothing to gain by messing with the present system as we start to reclaim our country.
Next you will be saying he is a pawn of PtH (there is as much evidence to support that, as there is that he is going to help the JCS, ie none), as I said earlier I expected better from you.
On a different note Oblige would make an outstanding candidate and I hope he runs an issue based campaign without the mudslinging.

Learn from the past. Several months ago the US gave him about 10% of the vote, which is about appropriate for the job he did last time as President. We didn't do that foolishly.

Damn... I see names here of players that I have a high opinion of.
I have but two items to interject this discussion. The first being that, over a very long period of time I have come to respect Haliman very much. People change, but seldom is it overnight. This leads me to the conclusion that Haliman is not the same exact person that you now bitch about.
The second is that also over a long period of time, I have developed my opinion of what Henry Pfeiffer has to say. It is BS. If anyone thinks that any "guidance" or "words of wisdom" Henry spews forth do not have an intrinsic value towards his political ambitions, might I suggest you are wrong. Every maneuver, the tiniest comment is geared toward taking someone down to build the great Pfeiffer machine up.
This is why I'm confused that so many, whose opinions I trust, are so dead set opposed to Haliman. Perhaps they see what I can't. Perhaps I am deluded by Haliman. All I can point to for sure is my gut reaction. My track record so far is very good. Almost to the person, everyone I've trusted while playing eRep has been honorable and trustworthy.
I guess I'll wait and see what happens. That's all that is left me to do.

And actually, I can back up parts of Pfeiffer's comment. Laxsnor was more the POTUS that month than Haliman was. The USWP didn't turn its back on Haliman just because lolwecan. Haliman was a shitty PP before he became a shitty CP. I got to watch most of his shit firsthand, because until he became CP, I trusted him just as much as you seem to (even though he was a little underhanded shit who accused me, on no evidence, of rigging a forum primary against him, which is a trait he and Pfeiffer have in common).
You may have a good gut instinct, but that doesn't always stop the Halimans or Ibcuses from sneaking past you.

Haliman has at best, a professional relationship with the JCS. If you seriously think that he wants to replace the USAF with the JCS, you need to get your head checked. For one, he doesn't even have that authority.
Haliman left the JCSF for the USAF Special Forces because of the atmosphere from the JCS. When we ran the AMP (him as PP and myself as Chief of Staff), we had more issues then I can possibly describe with a certain Chairman who's no longer in charge.
The JCSF will continue to be independent, no matter your retarded fear mongering, that will not change anytime soon.
You can talk all about how "terrible" Haliman is once elected, but you fail to see his two successful terms as USWP Party President that propelled him to the Presidency over INWEGEN... Then when we essentially formed and founded the American Military Party we rode the momentum forward and today it's undeniably a major political powerhouse.
Haliman has grown a lot from his days as President over this last year. He'll take the lessons learned and apply them to be a successful President, unquestionably more effective at uniting the nation then someone like Henry Arundel.
I only mentioned Bradree because he was a shitty president too. The fact that he was JCS is irrelevant. JCS is happy being a militia and the EUSA is happy with them being a militia. No one thinks JCS will try to take over. We just don't want a past shitty president becoming a future shitty president.

Haliman's terms as USWP PP were anything but successful. He only manages to not be the worst PP we've ever had because of people like Jude and Stanley.
