Trannsvaal: President of the Netherlands
---

-Alright, first things first, like our own president, EternalWalk, this is your first term as president, how is it going so far?

It has been three days now, so it has mostly been starting up. Luckily I got a lot of experienced ministers, so those we up and running pretty fast. My education team however consist of 2 very enthusiastic youngsters, needless to say they have to learn a lot themselves. Lets hope they can drag a lot of players along.

-There seems to be a lot of political back and forth in your country between the major parties. Recently we have had the same. In Germark, there has been a lot of political change, OMG no longer has the top spot in politics which it has had for over 2 years and the Party LPP, after rising to the top lost over 50 people in just a day after being the focus of a scandal. How do you view the political environment of your own country?

GPN has been on top for a long time now. But ever since we got our congress back, a lot of older player who fled the country came back causing several other parties to grow again like I&W. GPN remains the biggest political force, however they can't win elections on their own anymore.

-One of your goals in your Presidential Statement was to create a strong network of international relationships with other countries. Our MoAA is doing the same right now which is one of the main reasons I am the ambassador to your country. So how do you view Germany both currently and as a potential friend going forward?

Lots of our players using the German MPPs to fight for example. I’m sure there is a more to gain on politics as well. We are dealing in the same way with Poland and we share a lot of befriended countries.

-On the subject of foreign relations, How do you feel about the newly liberated Belgium?

Belgium has only be liberated to reset the determination bonus. So as soon as those are worn off they will be occupied again just before the congress elections, so the PTO attempt in their country can be contained. As long as they have that problem they can't be such an interesting player in the eWorld as they would be if they were free.

-As you know our country has a treaty like you do with Poland, how do you view Poland and the future of your contract?

Our two countries have a history of treaties that went sour. They always broke up because of minor violations that are not always in the hands of the government, or a treaty that was made without full support of their congress. With our current treaty we accept that it is not always possible to control everything, so we built in some options for damage control while still honoring the treaty. When balance of power is so unequal, you have to rely on trust. And that is something that has to grow, and I have faith that that is possible.

-Finally, since we are talking about Poland, how do you feel about TWO? do you think it will break up soon?

TWO controls the biggest part of all the damage that is done in the New World. If there is no one that can stand up against you, there is no real common goal anymore. That will mean individual interest will become more important and that is always bad for an alliance.

-Reflection-
It is interesting that their country is in many ways in the same situation that we are. They don't have any strong alliance-ties, they have a varying relationship with Poland and their Politics are currently in a state of shift (The Ruling party changing nearly every month). We currently are talking about so called "minor violations" in our congress, yet it is interesting to see their own take on it. That building a friendship, rather than a parasitic relationship, is the true way to move forwards. Hopefully, our shared situations and goals will lead to a stronger connection between our countries, and I aim to make that happen.

NoTie112: PP of Libertas NL
---

-Your Party has often run against candidates from the Guezen and Democratisch Parties, do you consider your party to have a rivalry with these competitors?

We do not recognize any real 'rivalries', bar the usual election sides 'fighting' each other (which can be positive and fun for a country). At the end of day Libertas has worked with almost every party in his history. Though, two alliances of parties exist in the eNetherlands: The government (Guezen, VVN) and the 'opposition' (Libertas, Iron&Wine, Democratisch Nederland)

-What are the main goals of your party for the country?

We want an efficient and progressive eNetherlands as possible, a small efficient government. Also, we actively guide new citizens in their first steps in politics.

-Your Party Statement is very nationalistic, as such what are your views on the current treaty with Poland?

We do not consider us to be extremely nationalistic and are very international orientated, but of course we fight for our own country's survival. The treaty with Poland ensures temporarily our survival and is an upstart for whatever geopolitical situation the future will give us.

-How do you feel about the new president, Trannsvaal?

He's very friendly, generally liked and cooperates with all different factions in the country. He is still kind of new on the scene, though, and will need to prove himself in the coming month. But overall it's a fresh wind blowing through the presidential office.

-Do you feel Germark would be a good ally?

Germany would be a good ally. We've been many times in the past, have many similarities and are facing the same difficulties.

-Reflection-
It is interesting to see NoTie112's take on the Political climate in eNL. Unlike in our country, where conservative values and a stale political situations are looked to, in eNL they welcome change in the government and believe it is time for some definitive change. Perhaps this is the way that we should start looking at our own changes. The OMG isn't the only party anymore, its time that we accepted that, but also with Eternalwalk and some new players, we as a country and as different parties have a chance to redefine ourselves.

MaartenW: PP of Iron and Wine, former President
---

-Iron and Wine is in many ways like the OMG, it is an ancient party but it is still active and important to this day, how do you view your party and its relationship with the other party's in the country.

You are correct, Iron and Wine is an ancient party but it kind of died out with people losing faith in the game or moving to another country for a while, a couple of the people from the original “crew” stayed but weren’t enthusiastic enough to lead the party in an active way. When I became president in November quite a few of them returned and joined me in an effort to regain our former glory. I can say for a fact that we’re the top 5 party with the most active members and the least zombievoters.

Most other parties respect us because we have been a critical opposition party and trying to change the way politics are done in the Netherlands. This doesn’t mean that every party agrees with our opinion on daily issues of course. We are currently part of the coalition with ministers in MoD, MoHA and MoC.

-What made you join this party, and what are its goals?

I joined because they were the nicest people who were having the most fun. The whole active core of I&W are community players, I could call them family in a way, staying together while the community of the Netherlands kept changing. I also had the honor of meeting about 20 of them at RL meetings.

Our main goal is to make our country more active; we like to see debates, opinions, soldiers fighting in an organised way and so on. We’d like to make it a fun game for everyone. Our full program and goals can be found here.

-How do you think your Country should develop going forwards, as in who it should align itself with and how it should change?

The country should grow by any means, until a point where we can be of actual help to our allies. Alliances have always been a black/white issue and without a change in the game I doubt this will be different anytime soon and it would be inconvenient to pick the side Poland is on don’t you think?

-What is your Opinion of Germark?

The relation between the Netherlands and Germany was really good near the end of Phoenix, so good that the Netherlands kamikazed into Poland to give Germany a fighting chance in their ongoing battle. This action caused us to be occupied for the first time and this occupation would last for more then 2 years, this is why many Dutchmen (and I) felt backstapped when Germany signed a deal with Poland a week later and stopped fighting against them.

I must say I like the idea of your Germark union as I was a eDane myself, it is really helping them holding off PTO’s but the nation has lost its edge in the past years, I don’t see the activity it had before.

-Finally, you have been president two times before, how do you feel about Trannsvaal?

Trannsvaal is the nicest president we have had in a long time, he is really succeeding in cooperating with multiple parties. He’s active, pretty neutral, he has a lot of experience and he knows a lot about the game!

-Reflection-
Again, we see sentiment of changing the way politics are done and creating a more active country. I think this is something we haven't done to much of, we haven't been actively trying to get new players. Perhaps it is because we are scared of their new views, or their lack of knowledge, but I for one would love to see a Baby Boom. It should also be a priority, because how else can we be of use to our Allies?

Konrad Neumann: VP of Belgium, former President
---

-Konrad, an old player indeed, one of the few I remember from my early days in the game. Back then you were a German Citizen, what made you become Belgian?

I knew many people in eBE and I really like them. My first time in eBE was due to an invite by Prophexy and MousierGuillotine.  This time I went back mainly to help out the community and players like Critically, MaryamQ, NLSP since we are being PTOed by some radical communist/ anarchist as well as some Croats.

-Tell me a little bit about Res Belgica, why did you join this party, and what are it's goals?

Trusted parties are for the most part the same.  There is not much difference between RB  The Belgian Dream, Union-Unie and ATO etc.  While I do tend to say ATO and Union-Unie and the other trusted parties are more optimistic in nature, RB tends has a more pessimistic and conservative outlook on policy. The Belgian Dream is more closely to RB in their policy outlook. Regardless, of parties, we all aims to secure eBE from being taking over.

-How about your country, how does it go, recently you became independent again, do you think this will last, or is the PTO threat still too much?

All I will say at this time is that our President Valeyard is working hard to secure ourselves against the PTO.  As VP, I want to reassure that things are under control and for all citizens to follow official orders.  There are times in the past where the PTOers made fake articles.  Only articles from this link http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mod-daily-orders-for-day-2-241-en-fr-nl-2360920/1/20 is legit.

-How do you view your countries relationship with us Germark?

Overall, we really enjoy our relations with Germark.  For a long time we shared great relations with each other.  Our congress showed great support for Germany when they tried to get into CoT.  We always have good thoughts of the Germans and the Danish.  Many of our citizens fight in the Germark RW's and they always asked me personally for the correct orders.  We really do have good feelings towards the Germans.

Our only real difference is the issue of Poland.  Unless I am totally out of my time in eGermany, but Germans do not consider the Poles to be friends.  At most the Germans are neutral or indifferent with the Poles.  You tolerate and even cooperate at times but the German-Polish relations base on my understanding is not that of best mates.  However, from an eBE's perspective, Poland and UK (more on Poland) is our means of survival.  It is our main means to combat the PTOers as well in a real war, physical security.  I personally questioned our decision to join CoT in the first place but our relations with Poland and the UK are so strong that even at different alliances, we depend on them for our well being.  It also suggest that they are really kind and considerate in their support of a weak country in a rival alliance as well.

-Poland is obviously a very strong force in the region, how do you feel about your relationship with them, and with TWO going forwards?

I guess I kind of answered that question above.  Poland is our most important partner in eRepublik.  It is the only real power that can aid and defend eBE in the long term.  UK while is also important but due to their weaker stature, they cannot hold out as long as Poland can.  With that said, I see eBE will be neutral (as in not in an alliance) but will be pro-Poland and UK.  This does not necessarily means that we are pro-TWO but we are and will be very supportive of Poland and UK.
This is especially true with hiccups in our relations with the Dutch.  We do not have too much confidence in some of their leadership.  There are incidents when the Dutch government made unfair demands on the Belgian government.  When we do not comply, they harassed members of the eBE government as well as threatening the eBE states as well.  There are also some unconfirmed but really likely links between some members of the eNL ruling establishment and that of the PTOers in eBE.  With that said, we really cannot depend on the Dutch like we did in the past.  They are too weak and our relations are completely broken down.  This therefore, push us even more towards our dependency on the Poles and the Brits.

-Finally, any words for your old friends in Germany? 😃

Germany is always something special to my heart and I wish you all well.  You guys really need to push Blackbaroness to be CP.  I think it is time for a good female president in eGermany...

-Reflection-
It was great to talk to my old eVater after so long from the game. I always find he has great insights, and heck he used to be the CP of our country as well so he is a great resource to learn from. If there is one thing consistent about all of these people, its that they dont view Poland as an “enemy” but almost as a “friend.” Its time we decided what our actual relationship is with Poland, and establish lasting relationships...I'm sure Ramrr will be a great person to do this.
While the independence of Belgium isn't guaranteed at the moment, he did leave the possibility open, and when it does become a full-fledged country again, I will be there to inform you all about it.

I hope you all gained some knowledge from this, and have a great day.
