SPABA Ceremonies Preempted - SPAMM Tournament Revealed

Day 470, 21:52 Published in Canada Canada by Plugson

Greeting all eCanada,

The 5th Shameless Plug Award for Best Article is about to begin. Tonight it is a packed house with the number of nominees being extraordinarily high. No doubt, the neck and neck battle between “Old Ladies at War” and Congress election coverage has also helped bring in many more spectators. Thankfully, Ministry of Information agents are on site maintaining strict security in light of recent SPAMM outbreaks across eCanada.

Before we get to the official announcement and winner interview, let’s take a look at the polling numbers:

1. “Certa Sheep Interview” - Roy Munson Sheep Scandal Expose – 3 Part Series by Petz of The Petz Press. 3% [ 1 ]
2. "Post-election Analysis and Commentary” by Alias Vision of The Freeholder Press. 7% [ 3 ]
3. “Election Day” by Kelly Mahoney of Home Front Heroes. 11% [ 4 ]
4. “S&E’s Economic Report” by Keneto of Maxim Magazine. 15% [ 4 ]
5. "Congress Elections: Final Results” by marcchelala of Quick News and "Full Election Coverage by The Freeholder Press" by Alias Vision of The Freeholder Press. 26% [ 7 ]
6. "Old Ladies at War – Canada’s Broken Healthcare” by Dade Pendwyn of The Boomer Bugle. 34% [ 10 ]

Total Votes : 29

As you can see, the winner is “Old Ladies at War” by Dade Pendwyn of The Boomer Bugle…perhaps an apt choice for eCanadians during this time of media insurgency. Dade is now receiving a 50 CAD prize and his vinyl S.P. Award. Let’s approach and have a word with him.

Shameless Plug: The Boomer Bugle began its life with a blast of verbosity. Many wondered what this thesaurus-fuelled upstart would do. Do you feel that you’ve met your goal of proving that the Boomer generation has much to offer eCanada?

DP: I think several boomers have helped prove this. RoyMunson, Gofarman, Josh Taggart (even if he's not a true boomer) and others have really taken the lead. But mostly everything good that's happening in eCanada right now is some derivative of my actions. I'm fairly certain the place would fall apart if I left. So yes.

SP: The Boomer Bugle has featured celebrities in interviews, as well as put out public interest pieces and satire. What kind of writing gives you the most satisfaction?

DP: Definitely satire, because if it's not funny, you get mocked relentlessly - if you aren't you know you've written something at least mildly funny. I've only written one so far (the one that won this week) and for some reason people thought that old ladies dying was hilarious. So shame on you Canada. And also thank you.

SP: It was a very close race in the polls between you and the Congress-combo (Alias Vision and marcchelala). Why don’t we bring them over to also hear their take on the SPABA results? First, Dade, what would you like to say to your challengers?

DP: I'd like to say that they can suck it, and y'all don't know me! I'd also like to say that their news coverage was fantastic, but at the same time I'm glad they lost because now I can make it rain with 5 CAD bills instead of 1 CAD. Also, I'd like to note that I look forward to duelling ---

Wait, we have a disruption on the stage. It appears to be Joey Phillips forcing his way up front. Omg, he’s got a --- “2 USD! 2 USD! Spam the infidels!”
**sppphhbBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAB bbt**

I can’t believe my eyes! Joey Phillips has discharged a spam-bomb all over the ceremonies. The stench of rotten jokes is in the air. I can see off-topic commentary and RL news reports scattered everywhere. Dear lord, marcchelala and Alias vision have been skewered by a piece of acerbic satire. Oh no, please no, it looks as if Dade Pendwyn has been completely buried in a steaming pile of Daily Kyo. Oh the horror! Oh the humanity! Oh the horror and the huma---
