[CP] October Taoiseach Report #2

Day 2,155, 16:42 Published in Ireland Ireland by Ian E CoIeman

October 14, 2013

Hello eIreland,

The time has come for another CP update, and I'm almost relieved to have substantial news. With this great opportunity for some True Patriot medals, will understandably come some concerns over what exactly is going on!

Natural Enemy Proposal
On October 13, the eUK's Parliament launched a Natural Enemy proposal against us. [1] Wary of rogue proposals (as always) but also proactive, eIreland then launched a counter NE proposal, which our Dáil would vote up only if the eUK's were to pass. [2]

Eventually, as you can see, the eUK's proposal did go through - resulting in our own Dáil voting through their own counter measure. Kudos to Dáil for the calm and professional reaction during the incident.

At the same time as we were manning the battle stations and watching these proposals, we were in contact with the government of the eUK who confirmed that this Natural Enemy proposal was not made by order of the eUK's government. [3]

"This war was not desired by His Majesty’s Government, but Parliament has insisted on it. Therefore I have been in talks with Ireland constantly since it was proposed and we have come to an arrangement to tag team around the Island, have some fun and get our TP medals up. This war will end when we have finished our romp."
- Bohemond4
(eUK Prime Minister)

And so eIreland has been thrust into an impromptu training war by an over-eager eBritish Parliament. Despite being a training war however, it is important that we treat this war seriously, as the original proposal was spurred on by some real intent at war.

While we will gladly take this opportunity to joust with the eBritish and earn True Patriots medals, we must also be resolute in defending eIreland. As such our Department of Defence will be active in ensuring our military success, and we will be careful (so far as possible) not to present any opportunity for a wipe.

Dáil Éireann
Now for a look at our MPP developments during the term so far. We've taken it upon ourselves to renew many old ones, while even adding a few we didn't have last month. Unfortunately some of our allies don't have regions for the time being, preventing us from proposing a pact with them. We look forward to their returns to the map so that we can once again fight along side them.

Ireland and Norway | Passed

Ireland and France | Passed

Ireland and Russia | Passed

Ireland and Croatia | Passed

Ireland and Indonesia | Pending

You can see all of our current MPPs here.

That's all for now. 🙂

Cheers,
Ian E Coleman
Taoiseach of eIreland
