The Federalist Press [day 2204]

Day 2,204, 19:17 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

Greetings. I am Trekker Tlumac, this is the Fed newspaper, a conglomeration of updates on the Fed party, eUSA and the world at large. My first week here, so pardon my style. It will surely be honed in a short time. I hope all is well wherever you are in the eWorld. Here is some news.

State of the Fed

Holiday week last week, so things have been fairly slow. Just a few things to report.

Congress elections were a week ago. Feds ended up with nearly 29% of the vote. That was good enough to garner us thirteen members of Congress. The members are a mix of perennial congress critters and newcomers. This includes four first time members. Congress is already in session and there are a number of things going on.

Come join us on Tuesdays for Fed IRC meetings 19:00 eRep time. The meeting can be accessed on Rizon  at channel #FedMeeting. Or on Mibbit through http://proudhorny.us/FedMeeting

“There's a Q&A at the end, so come get informed and/or make your voices heard.” Fed PP Evil_Elvis

For those of you that are new to the Feds or even just Fed-curious, come find out more about us, the Fed forums constantly have games, discussions and other things going on. Come join us and post about your thoughts on the party, your thoughts on music or even just counting number by pictures. We have it all on the forums and much more. It is a great place to get know about your party members better. You can also join us on the IRC party chat, which is another great way to get to know your fellow feds.

State of the Country

1) Well, we have our country back, we are at peace and it looks like that peace may be fairly long lasting. As long lasting as peace can be in such a fast changing and ever evolving world. Props must be given to our current president (NewAzazel) for negotiating new terms to insure a continued peace with Poland and Spain, after the changes in game mechanics that made honoring the original deal nearly impossible for the USA to fulfill.

The deal includes clauses that cover the complete return of our original states without further payment, terms to reach a peaceful agreement if the terms are ever broken and a monthly renewal that includes a safe clause to ensure that any future president that does not agree with these terms will have the ability to renegotiate before rebelling into war.

The full article detailing the deal can be read on NewAzazel’s paper, here is the link

2) The eNASA program is up and running. For those of you who have not heard, the eWorld is in a population decline. That means less people, less fun, less crazy antics. eNASA is a outreach program designed to find sentient life (well partly sentient, if they were sentient they would already be here) and gain exposure for eRep. But to complete this exposure we need people to do what they do best, double click. The idea is to vote up eRep on game sites. eNASA provides the links, you provide the double click. It is that simple and it could help infuse the game with valuable new players.

Our friends over at We The People have challenged us to a vote off. It is a friendly competition between our parties. A great way for us to build a closer friendship with WTP as well as satisfy both parties generally competitive natures. It works pretty simply; each party has its own link to click for voting. That link will give said party credit for the vote and we get to tally the total. Fed link is http://apexwebgaming.com/details/eNASA/ So get some votes in. Once a day.

This article explains the program further and give other vote links:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/whpr-day-2204-presidential-address-enasa-the-media-college-war-map-enpr-2347805/1/20
It is the second item in the article.

3) There are no presidential primaries this month as New Azazel is seeking a second consecutive term as president. He is also unopposed by other parties. There is a lot left that he would like to accomplish and so expressed interest in continuing his administration and this was largely accepted by the parties.

State of the World

With the advent of the latest few updates in the game (Freedom Fighter Medal, Determination, collecting taxes from own states and Empires) many things have changed in the game. There is a momentary void of chaos as everyone tries to adjust to the new game mechanics. This chaos will die down eventually. Past changes to the game are a clear indicator of this. But for now there is a hellish uproar over it.

Opinions vary greatly on whether this new throng of changes is good or bad. The sentiment ranges from this being the beginning of the end of the eWorld, to the general approval that this will finally knock down the superpowers of our current age a few notches. Where the reality lies in the total effect of these changes is not yet on the horizon. Granted, that horizon in the eWorld is only a couple weeks into the future. However we are still not there yet.

Already there are many regions that have been held for an exhaustively long periods of times, under tyrannical rule, who are seeing the light of the eSun for the first time in a long time. Many mighty countries that have held large tracts of land have been neutered almost overnight.

Freedom Fighter medals have a lot to do with this, so does  the determination factor. Both of those updates make it nearly impossible for long held provinces to stay held by the conquering nations.  This has been seen as unfair to the Empires by some.

With the introduction of the FFM, there has been a large (predictably so) rise in the number of players that go medal hunting. The FFM is easier to acquire at the lower end than the Merc, BH, CH medals and the payout is good for relatively little work and resources. So it makes sense that people would seek these rewards too, which can only be won by fighting in successful rebellions. People therefore naturally are fighting more in Resistance Wars.

The other main factor in making it easier to reclaim original territories is the determination factor. The longer a territory has been held by a foreign body, the higher the “determination” of the patriots of said territory to reclaim it. This has a direct effect on the battle influence. Some confirmed modifiers have be up over x5 the normal. It takes a standard 20K strength warrior with a tank and turns his shot of 20K into 100K blast from the heavens. There is no one in the eWorld that can sway the balance of power that much in the game naturally. So these high modifiers definitely turn the tide of the wars and allow for weaker forces to triumph.

With the lingering numbers of owned regions starting to fall interesting things will begin to happen. Now that conquering parties can collect taxes from conquered territories, there will be more desire to conquer. And since it will be hard to keep territories for any truly extended length of time, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Well that is all I have to share with you today. Information can be hard to find in the eWorld, so in the future I would like to include letters to the editor and Q&A bits. So feel free to write in. We have a great party and staff, we will try to reply to what we can. And if you have any questions to certain public figures we will try to ask those questions and post responses.

Stay Proud and Horny.
