And shove em.
A massive increase in income taxes. What will this do? It will take money out of the pockets of those who want to stand on their own, to give to a minority who fight in the nation's military and affiliated militias. It is especially onerous for newer players, whose main source of income is wages. It's wealth redistribution, really. Taking money from new players, and from those who want to play the game and fight for their country outside of government confines, and give it to a small minority. I don't like it, not at all.

It seems quite plain that the government understands this though. Join a commune and get paid in guns and food, or else suffer. Sounds fair to me, amirite?

Who is the consistently top ranked Military Unit now?
It's not a national military or a party militia.
OMFG, it's a bunch of two-clickers.
To be fair the ranking doesn't take into account damage output, but it's still not a good idea from a utilitarian perspective to attempt to push people into communes.
I don't see myself in the line but I can sure picture some of them in me.
Thing is, The income paychecks are big, everyone has compines to afford themselves whoever..... didn't the eUS Government got done saying they were broke for overspending? And the fact they have a tone of money have in serect stash?
I know that the ranking doesn't include damage, it's just the number of fights.
However, my point is that the members of ANONYMOUS are, for the most part, not affiliated with the military and not working in communes.
If there was some script that would tell me what percentage of each regiment was actually fighting on somewhat of a daily basis, I'd love to compare that to other MUs.
LOL, I got communes! Difference is the guys in my MU that join a commune make more than the average worker, a lot more. We encourage self sufficiency and profit, not slave labor. But what do I know? I'm just a crazy old fart. (BTW, we respectfully declined OMS funding.)
Don't know what's all on the # of fights list (because we aren't allowed to see statistic in the game anymore), but PP is at #26 on the list. With 13 members and 351 kills yesterday, that's 27 each. At least we get free bazookas and candy!

Raising the income taxes looks good on paper; however in practice it has many adverse affects in regards to economic growth. While the percentage of the proverbial pie will be a greater angle the diameter of the pie will shrink. The only influence that will curb inflation is oversupply, which can only be achieved effectively with increased infrastructure / population.
INCOME: 1%
IMPORT: 1%
VAT: 25%

Higher taxes will actually drop government earnings, lower taxes increases citizen expenditure and general turnover, it has been proven in eAus already. Plus all citizens make more daily damage as they can afford to thus strengthening the economy and country.

Yes we have communes, but too high a VAT will make it more difficult to keep market prices stable. I agree with the old elitist Libs - this is a bad move.

But the tl;dr version is this:
The new tax plan is designed with two main goals in mind, 1 - defend the economy against the bot, and 2 - buffer our USD/Gold market.
Every honest congressman will concede that there will likely be a slight decrease in the power of the earned wage.
However, the payoff will be felt when you go to convert your USD into Gold. The wild increase in the cost of Gold has to be slowed down somehow, and this is how to do it.

The new plan will fail to reach any of these goals (if these were actually the real goals).

Before I start, please note that I have not taken a side in this debate (yet, at least). As a member of the JCS-led eUS Military, obviously I don't benefit from government tax money for my military unit, but that does not necessarily mean I don't want what's best for the country. In short, I have an open mind on this issue (for now)...
One question for those stating the tax measures will increase the value of the USD to gol😛
If "the bot" is controlling the amount of USD in circulation to some degree, what's to say you go ahead and enact those tax changes..... and the bot turns around and compensates EVEN MORE to offset the tax increases. Isn't this entirely possible (and, dare I say, likely)? Then we'd really be in a bad place -- higher taxes *and* devalued currency!

Furthermore, I think the tax-raise has bad effect on the growth of new guys. Recently I didn't seen any action from administration to help new players, but the administration want to rob new players..
I completely agree with you benedictmi; The income tax increase is designed to funnel younger eCitizens into military communes which are run by specific people / groups within eAmerican politics. Military Units are entirely different, and benefit nearly all eCitizens should they choose to participate.
Candidly; it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the tax increase were in part rationalized to help offset by the hefty costs associated with 'Commune Storage'
One way to combat this i guess is to let foreign powers wipe eUnited States of America off the map clean slate perhaps🙂
