Introducing Knight News: World in Flames - 3rd edition
Hello everyone. I've been playing eRepublik for some time, and I've finally decided to get down and write myself a newspaper that I hope you all find useful. One of my favorite features things about eRepublik is battles and trying to figure out the underlying strategy involved by EDEN, Phoenix, and the presidents of each individual country. I think I've gained enough experience to actually be able to share my analysis without getting laughed at 🙂. I'll say it here: I am human, I don't have inner access to the inner workings of either alliance, so I could be wrong. Anyway the disclaimer is over.


Karnataka

The biggest news in the US media today is that India has requested the return of Karnataka to sovereign hands. I believe the terms of the lease expire on June 4th; so roughly a week remain. This has obviously generated some attention as the eUSA will lose it's high iron and a source of great wealth. Most believe India's low population would be unable to generate the same amount of income it receives per month from the eUSA (800G + price of both sides of the USA/India MPP). It's quite likely the USA president had known India didn't want to extend the lease on Karnataka a 2nd time. It would explain the motive of attacking Liaoning now, as that would give China two Iron regions (and one for possible lease). On the downside, even had the attack been successful, neither is as secure as Karnataka, with Liaoning (Lion King) bordering the Russian puppet state/Phoenix Supporter of North Korea and Heilongjiang (Hello Kitty) bordering Russia. In other regional news India lost recently captured Pakistani sovereign Sindh to Serbia.

A resistance war started in East Srpska Republic, followed quickly by an attack from Serbia. The resistance war prevents Croatia from retreating the region should they wish to. This Bosnian sovereign territory was surrendered to Croatia two days ago just before server reset, likely to prevent the imminent election of congressmen in that region. Serbia currently has a fairly sizable, but not impossible MPP list of 10 countries to overcome alone. Noticeably absent from the MPP list in this war are Romania, Poland, USA, and Sweden. It's currently underground by a small margin. Croatia has also returned Brcko District to Bosnia, leaving Serbia's only possible attack route to Croatia sovereign territory (and refreshing their MPP list to it's full might).

Initiate blocking continues against China. With USA occupied Henan falling to Russia earlier today despite some furious last minute tanking on both sides, Russia only borders one more USA occupied Chinese region, Chongqing. The USA cannot counterattack for 24 hours, so I expect Russia will attack Chongqing within that time period. I also expect the USA to make a serious effort to defend, they will be unable to counterattack and break Russia's initiative lock on China without breaking the USA/China MPP or getting the Philippines to re-declare war and going into a land swap dance. More recently a resistance war has started in Russian Occupied Shandong, possibly by Spain.

North Korea Attack Kangwon, Russia

Russia is taking advantage of it's active war with North Korea to begin a training war. As long as China remains initiative blocked and unable to attack North Korea, this will keep the 20 MPP Phoenix list with daily fights.

A series of attacks, retreats and land swaps continue from yesterday central Europe. Germany attacks Poland in a 1v1 war for Mecklenburg which is not likely to succeed due to the vast differences in power between eRepublik's most populous nation and Germany. Yesterday, Germany retreated Mecklenburg from a Swedish attack, which was then promptly land swapped to Poland yesterday to prevent Germany from using it's MPP list to counter. More recently, Austria has begun moving through Germany by attacking Bavaria and Hesse, most likely the initial creation of a land bridge for Slovenia, following behind it, to use their MPP list... I honestly have no idea where or why they are moving Slovenia anywhere. Neither country has an active war against any EDEN nation. It is possible Phoenix plans to use Slovenia to try and initiate block one more more EDEN countries for some other nefarious plans. In any case, the land bridge has been delayed at least 24 hours due to a resistance war started in Bavaria before Austria could retreat the region to Slovenia.

Mecklenburg by itself has little value, however on further thought it does border the high grain region of Brandenburg and Berlin. As the war between Sweden and Poland remain active, Once Poland is no longer under attack Sweden could landswap and retake Mecklenburg and attempt to conquer Berlin, and landswap it to Poland, giving Poland at least one high resource region, which they have been craving since the loss of Rhone Alps and Berlin several weeks ago.

I'm thrilled my articles have received such positive attention, from major players from both EDEN and Phoenix. I'm particully honored by my comparison to Mainegreene, author of the very popular http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/through-the-looking-glass-194253/1 Lieutenant Scheisskopf, author of http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/stars-and-stripes-journal-191155/1 wrote me a complement as well. The above two authors are both a heavy influence of where my own military analysis came from. I remember when I was but a baby reading Mainegreene's articles taught me more than anything else about eRepublik war tactics and was one of the primary factors that got me addicted to this game.

I'm also trying some tricks with my Attack arrows to more easily show who is involved in the battles. This will be an ongoing process until I find something that's both easy to make and easy to read.
