Why we invaded Belgium, and other things

Seeing many people asking why we invaded Belgium, I've decicided to try and explain. Those in the know haven't told us, as there is "Not much you can say that isn't a) obvious or b) sensitive ". However, as I don't work for the government, and have been told nothing myself, I can give it a go without risking sensitive info (This could be wrong, but people in the know have said I'm quite often right : D )

1. We (probably) wanted to attack Poland via Belgium, as Poland have largely wiped Germany and are helping Spain wipe France


We probably planned on doing this

2. We wanted to stay on good terms with EDEN, as NWO is beating most Terra and EDEN countries up. Ireland, our prefered target, was a no go because of this.

3. We saw Belgium had no MPPs. However, this soon changed, and was not helped by the delay implemented for the new war system allowing Belgium to sign three powerful MPPs.

4. The US and Canada have good relations with Ireland, as all were members of the Brolliance. They may have had mixed feelings about helping us, a traditional rival, invade a friend who rents regions to them frequently.

5. We thought Belgium wouldn't put up a fight (but now they have Hungary, Spain and Poland to do it for them)

6. Woldy knew that people were bored and wanted a war, which he had promised to provide in his manifesto, which was entitled "On the Annexation of Europe" . As he couldn't provide war with Ireland, he thought conquering Belgium would be enough to get him re-elected.

Now however, with NWO winning on almost every front, things look bleak for their opponents (which sadly includes us). Croatia is about to fall to Serbia, Romania is half Hungarian, Italy is being wiped by Macedonia with Slovenian help, Germany is almost gone to Poland, France are losing ground to Spain and maybe soon Poland, Russia have lost Kaliningrad and had to give regions to Finland to close the war, the US have been pushed out of Mexico by Poland, Portugal has almost all gone to Spain, Turkey are liberated and taking key Greek regions, cutting their trade route, Bulgaria just lost against Turkey in Marmara and China, N Korea and Japan are fighting amongst themselves.

We have just lost easily to Belgium in Flanders, and now face attack in SE England, which would cut off our trade route to every other region. London could fall, and Spain and Poland could reach soon our borders and invade. Bad times : S


Could some of these moves against us be next?

On the plus side, if London were to fall, we could easily overpower Belgium in every resistance war, and our trade bonuses would be regained, minus London's aluminium. Also, the maximum size of NWO's empire is soon to be reached, as by absorbing countries such as Romania, Greece and Croatia (Romper has done over 5 million 8 10 million damage in the last 2 minibattles, but it is still 7:0 to Serbia in Croatia's last region, and Serbia have the 1800 points needed to win) they will stretch national armies to breaking point trying to hold down key resistance wars protecting trade routes.


If we lose London, which we probably won't just yet, then we can look forward to seeing this every day from our Scottish capital

Whilst firefighting RWs may affect Serbia and Hungary more than the Spolish threat that is more immediate to Terran nations, it should reduce the damage coming from their MPPs. On that note, we all have reason to thank Serbia - not only are they stopping Poland attacking us by holding the East of England, but they voted down Belgium's MPP proposal : D Also, the US are declaring Spain their Natural Enemy , so may be able to turn the tide in Europe; either via diverting damage in a N American campaign or by making headway and helping out France, Brazil and Portugal.

[edit] PS Anyone know why we are MPPing Turkey? Congress doesn't, looking at how it is 20 YES : 18 NO at the moment. Half of our allies have MPPs with Greece, and so it is unlikely pro-NWO Turkey would set the UK as a priority to defend.
