Is that the basic message here?
This coming from the guy who watched (debatable) an OVER 40% nosedive in our GDP?
The leaders of his endorsement alliance are coming out pulling numbers out of their ass trying to cover for him, but so far nobody is buying it.
Vague, condescending speculation is FAIL.
I've heard from angry CAF personnel who hate being made to be Jacobi's scapegoat for our economy.
Our General has stated that the CAF has not cut spending at all in December. Even if the CAF weren't here to work to produce those supplies - somebody did - because they were and ARE available on the markets.
This is what the Canadian businessman has had to deal with this month.
However, don't ask questions. Just blame Tyler for bringing it up. Burn him!
Even if it WAS the absence of 400 (give or take) workers from our economy (our population is 5600+), at what point do our EDEN contributions become unsustainable? If EDEN calls for Canada to send our CAF into Greece for January - are we willing to accept the economic results of that diktat? Doesn't his 'crack team' of economists have any idea what it costs our economy to deploy the CAF for extended periods?
How many terms do they need? 6? 10?
If you haven't figured it out by the 5th try, then its time to throw in the hat.
At what point do we impair our ability to contribute in any substantial way to an allied war effort if we're decimating our economy in the process?
Nothing to see here, everything is fine. Ignorance is strength...
Despite the fact that there are NO references available to ascertain how much Lana has attributed to this collapse, Jacobi's supporters continue to fabricate statistics out of thin air like they were Ben Bernanke.
It is also no secret that this administration has been propping up the CAD with public gold (which I am told was ceased a week ago) -
You - the taxpayer have been subsidizing the CAD!
Why? It was a Jacobi campaign promise to keep it at .032.
Some in his administration has estimated the total spent on propping up the CAD at 500 gold minimum.
But at least he kept his promise.
Meanwhile - Jacobi is Jean Chretien reincarnate, mocking voters by running ads that say he is "Pro-Chicken" - thus avoiding being accountable to THE issue of the day.
We are trying to win a war here Canada, not just an election!
Okay, so it's not apocalyptic - but I loved that pic!
Nothin' personal chum - it's politics, and I have kept it clean.

Twenty Quatloos for mentioning Ben Bernanke.
Huh....this is getting desperate.
Why would we be desperate? 😃 It is going swimmingly
This is copy-paste from a forum post (mine to be exact):
"If we REALLY wanted to know an estimate of the production drop from going overseas there was we could, take the # of CAF members multiply it by the average wage of eCanada (in gold), multiply that by the number of days CAF was deployed overseas. That *should* give us a rough estimate of their effect on the economy, it would more than likely be higher than the actual effect by a considerable amount since A) not all CAF members go on missions 😎 not all wages translate directly to investment, either in sales or the other 3 components of GDP calculations. If we are really interested in know how damaging the CAF moving around is, we can get this number relatively easily.
Now, that being said, lets take a look at Lana.
As Addy pointed out, a one night stand with lana for .5 for the entire population for one day is 750g, I know for a fact I use the .5g training daily.
For the sake of argument, lets assume that the 70 people lvl 21+ use the .5g/day training method, this number is probably rather close to the actual people using it daily, since some of these 70 probably train using more gold, some using none but also some from the lvl 20 and 19 bracket can probably afford to train using the .5g/day as well.
Anyway, 70 x .5 x 30 (days) = 1050g
While all gold does not translate directly to GDP growth, some is saved for extended periods of time and not counted in the GDP, the vast majority does get spent and thus add to the GDP.
To confirm this, we could always do a survey and see what kinda training people are doing and that would give us a clearer indication of the why the GDP is being hit as hard as it is. "
So yes, 40% attributed to Lana is perfectly reasonable, and confirmable if someone wants to spend the time and effort to gather the data and analyze it.
Tyler F Durden says: Jacobi should have canceled Christmas.
Something like that?
The 'Moderates' Spin: Derek Harland wants to cancel Christmas and kill Santa Claus.
Something like that?
read my article on raising GDP. 🙂

might be handy in future terms
Apparently, some guy figured out how to track Lana gold.

Just to answer how Bodgan_L tracks Lana gold, he has a database with the entire population of Romania in it and each day to runs a new report and compares it to the old one. From that he can compare the change in strength for each player and determine if they used Lana or not (and at which level).
It's possible for us to do similar using the census tool if someone wants to go through the effort of doing it daily (I personally can't be bothered).
[removed]
Maybe there should be an addition to the finance deptartment to keep track of this in Canada?
Romania averages 650 gold on training per day with 13000 citizens.
Their economy also grew modestly in the same time period.
Using the Romanian model, Canadians probably spend 250-300 per day, what with our population being 5600ish.
If the CAF was out of the country, wouldn't they also have been working in American companies and changing USD wages into gold and training there?
Just to add to the CAF out of country argument, as a CAF member myself I can tell you that when I purchased anything I used my org in Canada to do so and then donated it back to myself in the US. I'm sure there are other CAF who did the same.
I love the idea to track Lana gold spent for Canadians. Information is power!
So do I Gherk...so do I.
Hyperbole TFD - you're getting lazy and a little shrill lately - our economy needed a correction - wages were way out of whack - eRep GDP is a crude measure in a crude economic simulation
comparatively, our economy (gdp) has crashed by well over 10% (Not generous at all) more than the average countries comparable to us... well over 10%! Now, Lana is universal. Riddle me that
Lazy is one thing I've never been called.
Thanx AR for the "one night stand" quote, I luv it!
It is odd that the tools at hand that built a great platform are now critiqued for a weakened foundation. Not gonna bet on a one trick pony.

You'd never have believed it

You'd never have believed
That gaping hole was once a foundation
Where you stand now were tools in the basement.
Plugson, you really like Cake, don't you?
Much love Addy
I can't believe you'd waste this much time over e-elections in an e-world of e-nosignificance.
TFD, you know I'm a big fan of yours but the estimation that it cost 500 gold to prop up the CAD is *way* off. Sure, 300+ gold may have been sold off in order to keep the CAD at .032 but all of it was bought back at a lower rate than what it was sold for thus making a tiny bit of profit while maintaining a steady currency.
I've spent a lot of time over the last month ensuring that we had a steady currency and didn't have to wake up to a .028 CAD because it wasn't being regulated properly.
Jacobi gave me a lot of room to do what I had to do to keep it steady so if you or anyone else are uncomfortable with some of the decisions I've made pertaining to currency consitency, that's on me.
