Following are select excerpts from last night's eNPR radio show.
Basically, there are assholes on the internet everywhere, and in Canada they've got the upper hand... and a lot of people are fed up with it, and they're trying to do something about it.
What's happened recently is that the government of Canada has decided to pardon Rolo for everything that he's done. Canada's big on roleplay, the forum is full of this roleplay, and for the longest time Rolo had been banned from this forum and all of that dimension of the game.
A lot of people are taking exception to this pardon, and that's kinda like the catalyst... there's a growing number of people who figured "enough is enough, we're going to try to persuade... or force.... the government to veto that pardon which had been granted."
Canadian exiles will run interference, in a sense, by helping to RW Canadian held UK regions back to the UK, then help Ireland and France gain control of those regions. We support Ireland and France in colonizing those regions, and replacing Canada as the conqueror. It's important to us that we keep our Alliance whole. We don't want the UK to have a Congress, we don't want UK to get up off the floor, but we don't want Canada to benefit from the resources and whatnot. So that's how we're going to raise the cost, so to speak, of the government being indifferent to this sort of behavior.
There's also "issue fatigue." This has been going on for eighteen months. Ironically, once you've decided to leave your country... and have actually left it... all of the discomfort of the country you're living in is gone. So, more options open up to you, and the group of guys that we have came up with this idea.

We, the Exiled Patriots of Canada (EPC), are players who place a higher value on the community and its shared values. Our group are not dissidents by nature: our numbers include 4 former Country Presidents and leading figures in many Cabinets and Military Units. We do not believe a secure or principled future can built on this sort of capitulation.
To say we regret being placed in this situation is an understatement.
We understand that many people will not understand or agree with our actions.
We invite all likeminded persons, be they eCanadians, former eCanadians, allies, or individuals who believe in democracy and integrity, to join our cause.
We pledge to support those who do so with our full moral and material resources.
We will support efforts of remaining eCanadians to liberate their parties and return true choice and debate to eCanadian politics, provided always that efforts be taken to protect the nation against foreign PTO.
We understand that our efforts may have to be intermittent, as we will seek as best we can to sanction eCanada without weakening the broader TEDEN alliance – accordingly there will be times when military action in particular will have to be suspended while our members fight on greater TEDEN priorities. Naturally, any action against eCanada cannot help but weaken its ability to fight abroad, but despite that our goal will be to insulate TEDEN members from the effects of a dispute in which they bear no responsibility. We hope they understand our ability to do that will not be complete, and we apologize for any collateral effect.

America's Public Enemy Number One, Ajay Bruno-- aka Pizza the Hut, aka Six Star Fraud General Cartman Lee-- attempted a two-pronged attack on our nation, and in so doing gave new definition to the word Fail.
Recently reformed as the Freedom Alliance Party (fap! fap! fap!), Ajay ran for re-election as Party President against former NSC Chairman Vanek26. Whether to serve as a distraction or a serious takeover, Ajay sent his IES Blacklisted lackey, Sugawara Michizane, to run for PP at the US Marijuana Party.
Both campaigns were in serious trouble from the outset, and by early afternoon, Ajay was seen in his IRC room conceding defeat in both elections.

America's newly formed Homeland Security Program, barely off the drawing board and directly into action, with much well organized assistance from the White House, many political Party organizers, and prominent American patriots, chalks up a double-header win in stopping Ajay from gaining control of a Top Five Party.

The players who chose to leave eCan do not have the support of the Canadian population, even those who oppose the pardon do not support their actions.
Their actions are nothing more than the bully tactics they claim to be fighting against. All they are doing is fighting for and helping One while doing nothing to help eCan. Anyone in the US that supports them is also supporting One and trying to destablise the democratically elected government of an allied nation.

Since you don't seem to comprehend it in text, that you can read over and over again at your leisure, I don't think hearing the words live will help. But I'll just give it one more shot:
The pardon does not, and was not intended to, justify Rolo's actions - only to forgive him for his past wrongdoings so that the entire country, Rolo included, could move on. Some people have decided to interpret it otherwise. There's no stopping that, sadly, but there are ways to work with it. You know, like talking about it. However, a number of the EPC crowd weren't even around at the time of the discussion because they had already left eCan - and those that were around at the time gave up on the talking fairly quickly.
I do believe, as many have said from both sides, that this whole thing could have been avoided. What I don't believe, is that it was only the eCan government that had the power to avoid it. Both sides could have put in more effort to prevent this from happening.
And, for anyone who hasn't been paying attention to the drama thus far, I've been against the pardon since day one. I've been against pardoning Rolo since months ago, when Addy proposed we pardon him. However, I am not leaving eCan - and I would not even contemplate fighting against eCan's interests.
Wayyyy too much RP going on right now. We shouldn't get involved with Canada's bullshit.
