Beware the Ides of March
Rigour6
A note to our readers, both new and old, from your editor.
When I left eCanada it was my intention to pursue a quiet but productive life in my new home in Maine.
I did not realize or expect that so many others, who shared my disgust with the condonation of massive theft and domestic blackmail, would also leave the the nation or organize to protest against the fall from grace of the nation they (as I) long called home.
I had no intention that my leaving would prompt others to do the same or form part of anything larger.
This is among the reasons for my post of yesterday. I was simply a lone man following his conscience.
In short, I did not leave in an attempt to change Rolo - I know he cannot be changed, at least not by me.
I left to ensure that Rolo not change me.
In the days since then, many very powerful and respected members and former members of the eCanadian community have been hard at work and they have permitted me to sit in on their councils.
Despite my rather minor status as a player, I have also been honoured by the trust shown in me by the present CP Acacia Mason, in making me part of discussions he has held with some of those players.
Based on that participation, I believe that both eCanada and its allies can expect developments in the near future. For my part, I will be pursuing embedded journalist status and continuing to follow this story closely, both because I believe it is a very important one, and I believe based on my observation that the story of the exiles deserves to be told fairly and free from the sort of rampant propaganda distortions I have observed.
I know many eCanadians and their allies are confused about what is going on.
My hope is to give the facts and let you, the reader, judge for yourself.
I expect this is going to be tricky, because I want to be fair to that group but I also have my own editorial stance and it will natural for the two to become confused if I don't do my job well. To cite just one example: I have said I don't favour actually fighting against eCanada in battle. But that is easy for me to say, since even if I did, I am not a strong enough or rich enough fighter to wield much influence anyway. My tools are words. But to be fair to those who might choose to fight, I can say this, that I can certainly see and understand the logic in that - particularly given the response of eCanada's present CP. If anything, my greatest criticism of my good friend Acacia Mason is that his responses are actually making the case of those who wish to fight for them.
In any event, I am told and do verily believe that there will be an announcement of developments on this file in the near future, and I am working hard on behalf of my readership to get the full details here.
For now, I note that the Ides of March will soon be upon us, and I am told that date may not pass unmarked.
In your service,
R6

Congrats on all your activity Rigour6
You finally seem interested in the game, instead of being a wallflower
be sure to thank those that brought you all this activity, and no doubt enjoyment....
"But to be fair to those who might choose to fight, I can say this, that I can certainly see and understand the logic in that"
No, sorry, i can't accept that. I would expect from experienced players such as Addy and Fritz to understand that fighting against eCanada is like fighting against T/EDEN
lol 🙂
@taxo: Just because I disagree with someone doesn't mean I can't see the logic in their position. But let us not prejudge them yet.
@Rolo: I can always count on you to throw another log on the fire. As I have said before, congratulations: this team, divided against itself and weakened at home and abroad, is your magnum opus.

Attacking an ally is the same as attacking your own country. This is the premise all alliances are based on. I suggest you move and get citizenship in a ONE country. I understand Poland is lovely this time a year.

ED, please explain your logic: why would people who have dispute with eCanada choose to fight against eUSA? What has eUSA done wrong? Was it eUSA who said to eCanada, hey you should as a team say stealing the team treasury is OK? I don't think so.
I think your point only makes sense if you argue that anything which weakens eCanada also weakens its allies. So then we come back to the same math as before: what hurts eCanada worse ?
It will without a doubt be fun at the very least.

eCanada and eUS are allies. A military alliance means, when you attack one, you attack all. That is the only purpose of an alliance. First sentence in the NATO agreement.
So you cannot attack us without committing an attack on your own country. Move to ONE.
We love you too, Yddub o7
@Rigour
Hopefully you don't include anything I've said as part of the "rampant propaganda distortion." The only motive I have is to express my honest opinion, not to spin anything.
@ Rigour6
Why must you see my comment as negative? - based on your activity rates these days, your game enjoyment must be at an all time high
If you're going to be an objective journalist, you can't be biased and jump to conclusions at everything you hear and read...
Let the revolution continue and may Canada pay for its decisions and sins in blood.
@Eric: No, I do not include you in that.
I don't claim to be objective. I seek to be fair. Part of that is allowing people to tell their side, even if disagree with parts of it.
@ Rylde - Spare the rhetoric
The only ones paying will be you guys at the end of the month when your Visa statement comes in.....
@Rolo- I spare no one. Looks like you have a chance to be the so called hero and patriot you claim to be.
Rolo does not squander our gold needlessly. 😛
I get the feeling these "developments eCanada and its allies can expect in the near future" are not just about one man and a bunch of tank companies.
ah well, so much for my anti-crisis hopes. Things do seem to have turned.
Rolo is right. If the expats spend gold, they will have to earn it or buy it. Rolo does not have that problem. Massive thievery ftw.
You said to Exalted Drui😛
"ED, please explain your logic: why would people who have dispute with eCanada choose to fight against eUSA? What has eUSA done wrong? Was it eUSA who said to eCanada, hey you should as a team say stealing the team treasury is OK? I don't think so."
What if....you switched "eCanada" to "congress"
and eUSA" to "eCanada"?
"...please explain your logic: why would people who have dispute with congress choose to fight against eCanada? What has eCanada done wrong? Was it eCanada who said to congress, hey you should as a team say stealing the team treasury is OK? I don't think so."
What do you do when we are down to our original territories? Fight to bring ONE into North America? Yes, the US will be very pleased with it's new citizens.
@Katey Guess you'll think twice about who to vote for congress next month.
Also I wasn't aware i was getting a blowjob why is your mouth opening.
Wow! That last comment shows Rylde only opens his mouth when he's taking a shit. Pure class as usual.

Ode to Maine Writers:
I wish I could tell you that Rigour fought the good fight, and that eCanada let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but erepublik is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - eLife consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Rigour would show up with fresh bruises. eCanada kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Rigour - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.
That's a fine ode, there Gherk, but I have a finer telegram to share. It's titled "HOPE is a Good Thing."
Dear Rig,
If you're reading this, you've gotten out. And if you've come this far, maybe you're willing to come a little further. You remember the name of the MU, don't you? I could use a good man to help me get my project on wheels. I'll keep an eye out for you and the chessboard ready. Remember, Rig. HOPE is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. I will be hoping that this PM finds you, and finds you well.
Your friend,
Addy
I dunno, Gherk, eUSA may have gotten the best of 'em al but I'm hoping we still saved a couple good ones back home. It gets a bit harder to fight'em off, but my parole comes up in a couple weeks. *crosses fingers*
All pure gold.
I bet Americans are thrilled with all the eCanadian drama in their media
heh, cris, at least it's in english. lots of the media down here is just crap from other countries.
