What is holding us back? – We are destined to destroy Russia.
Sossu
Did we run out of money? Did the Eden HQ command us to stop for now and reorganize our ranks? My theory is Krems got fed up from being presented as a black man and refused to continue the invasion of Russia which for now has been a string of staggering victories for the Allied nations. All what is certain is that America isn’t advancing deeper in to Russia, but has stalled and let nations with MPP-stacks against Russia to come in between and secure the possessions America has already conquered.
I’m disappointed by this decision. The war was going well and though the battle of WSR was increasingly tougher, there seems to be no obvious argument for the temporary pause in the war, especially when there were two relatively cheap regions to be attacked next, and because USA had just passed the bottle neck of WSR. Now we are yet again behind it and have to go through it once we seek to destroy the remnants of Russia, albeit the region is now controlled by friendly nations.
Behind the tremendous successes of this campaign, there is a serious of questionable events that have led to unnecessary spending in terms of pointless swaps, mainly in Far Eastern Russia where the region was transferred to China even when USA was already possessing Eastern Siberia and thwarting the attack coming from the Russians. These pointless swaps of regions aimed to be ultimately returned back to USA are raising the total cost of the invasion considerably.
The command is doing an excellent job by taking the best of the revised initiative rules and using them creatively, denying our enemies the chance to attack us on their prime time, reducing their chances of getting their regions back. However, the command has fallen in to over cautiousness and this has led to wasteful spending.
North Korea is a critical asset in this war, as they can attack the regions we have conquered immediately afterwards, so the enemy can’t attack our new regions back. You see, the initiative in V2 is region-based and the attacker is in the risk of getting a penalty by being blocked. As weird as it appears to the players accustomed to sophisticated V1 war strategies, in V2, the failing to defend a region doesn’t lead to a penalty. Defenders can instantly attack back and this can lead to bidirectional wars where both participants defend and attack at the same time. During the entire campaign, we’ve lived in fear that Russia would realize this situation and expose us to a battle they have started during their favored time. Fortunately, they didn’t get this in FER, and we conquered it. They however used this tactic in Eastern Siberia, and honestly it was the only dangerous spot tactics-wise in the campaign to date. Thanks to our European allies, we beat Russians in their own game and held our lines of defense.
Another thing that matters in V2 is the attack queue. Only one battle can be waged over the same region at a time, so having a puppet nation ready and willing to attack and snatch the 1st place in the attack queue is extremely useful. A textbook example can be found from WSR, where North Korea managed to stretch an attack on WSR before Russia, giving America 24 hours of breathing time as Russia were unable to attack WSR. Had we wanted to continue, we could’ve attacked Northern Russia and Urals and retreat from WSR, giving it to Korea. We did pull out, but didn’t launch attacks onwards. To me, this was a mistake.
Currently there is a plan being drafted, dividing the three resource-havens of Russia between Poland, USA and China. China, who hasn’t activated any MPP-sets, is the safest nation of the three, and therefore they should serve as the outermost ray of the rainbow formerly known as Russia. Currently WSR is the region bordering Russia, and as this region is prone to fall to the possession of Poland in the treaty, Eden is deliberately leaving a gaping threat as Hungary has full MPP😒
against Russia. There is a consistent string of Phoenix regions connecting Hungary and WSR, paving the way for a land swap of massive proportions. Poland has a history of resource colonies falling prey to a complex Phoenix landswap, transporting a nation with superb MPP😒
to wipe the colonialists out from their possessions. The operation is jeopardized when Poland is out in the open for an attack from Hungary. Hungary can move through Ukraine and Russia with the help of Slovakia, who betrayed Eden they were earlier loyal to by transporting Hungary to Podolia already. This situation would cause endless harm to Eden, as China and USA can battle Hungary 1v1, but the bottle neck in WSR is narrow and the swaps and attacks regarding it will quickly become very costly. Currently an attack on WSR costs 560G, and Eden has to use a middleman almost every time WSR needs to change hands, doubling the cost.
The WHPR clearly hints that the operation will resume at some point, once treasuries have been refilled. Once America wants to continue the war on Russia, WSR has to be hit by North Korea, then America, then North Korea again and finally Poland to return the region to its “original” owner. This will cost around 2200G, so we certainly have some refilling to do in order to even get started again.
A position near Central Europe is important for us in terms of future campaigning. What I’m thinking is that in addition of the resource havens in Russia, we establish a permanent base westward from WSR. Possible locations could be friendly regions in Scandinavia, or Northern Russia which can easily be sealed inside friendly regions. This gives us the possibility to move around the globe more flexibly and participate directly to wars on a wider basis.
Pressing deeper to Russia should be a national goal of ours. Just as PEACE pushed us to Florida, we should pay back and push Russia back to Kaliningrad. History is repeating itself as the riches of Russia are once more split between multiple nations, as they are supposed to be split. I’m sure our enemies from Hungary and Indonesia agree with this as they had their taste of the Russian natural resources, and surely didn’t let Russia have them back with ease. Older players remember how Russia paid thousands of Gold for their own regions to become complete, but this was only temporary and with the strength of a thousand allied soldiers we have brought order to where there was only bots, banned presidents and natural resources beyond the horizon.
The ideal division of Russia: Brown Poland has WSR in the middle, giving them Iron. Light blue is America, possessing FER and Urals, giving titanium and iron to them. China has Eastern Siberia, giving them titanium, alongside of having a belt of three regions keeping Phoenix away from USA and Poland.
I don’t want to be a buzzkill, nor do I seek the government to be one either. By being overcautious, we have played ourselves to a status quo from where it will be costly to go back on the war track. Russia was already crumbling, they came on the 4th place in the damage records and their allies are showing signs of war weariness. Serbia fought gallantly in WSR but they can’t fight back the combined forces of Poland, China, USA and Spain, supported by the mobile forces of Croatia and Romania alongside many other nations, and they realize this. As long as we had stayed out from Moscow, the lesser regions around it would’ve been easy prey for us, making it possible to form a circle of Chinese regions to keep the Polish WSR secured, giving us Iron in the process, making us the other nation of only two in the world who have all 5 natural resources.

Once again the problem is money. It just costs way too much to support a full scale offensive war with a country. We should hold our positions for a week, let russia's economy crumble, then resume attacks.
region for china swapping with korea is simple. who would win in a resistance war? korean with maybe 10 active people or russia with prehaps 1000 active people?
hehe now prepare for counter offensive😃
Russia is crippled china has all resources we have gained titanium and poland has high iron again. if they lose then its there fault if they lose china will take the field and victory everlasting. and if even they fall in harlots name we will secure victory.

You are assuming that there was ever more of a plan than to secure Titanium or that this isn't related to a larger plan.
lold hardly ... prepare to defend your own territories, losers 🙂
If the plan is for America to keep going at Russia later, then you've made a few good points. That said, keeping the momentum is costly, seriously costly. The eUSA was bad straights financially for quite some time, and I don't think that has changed considerably. We've spent a lot winning these battles. While we've also probably made a good bit of revenue, it's by no means enough to cover the expenses. Sitting back, rebuilding the reserves, and focusing on our allies' battles for a while will help us. Canada is being pushed back from England, and Russia is in no position to strike back now. We're safe where we are, and we have the means to keep beating on Phoenix, by way of our allies. Lets finish of the Red Coats and get ready to turn our attention a little south of FER.
Good Article
Very intriguing article Sossu. Glad you're writing again.
This was your plan I guess, take all valuable regions from Russia (and Phoenix) but don't delete Russia from the map because it will delete all active MPP's and would make liberation of WSR, ESR and FER (somewhat) easier. No need for this kind of propaganda : )
"Hungary can move through Ukraine and Russia with the help of Slovakia, who betrayed Eden they were earlier loyal to by transporting Hungary to Podolia already." Babe... stop bull***ing. Slovakia betrayed whom? An alliance that 3x rejected slovakian request to join? Alliance of Romanians who have pTOed Czech Republic, stole Czech and Slovak money and planned to erase eSlovakia on their road to the ocean (believing in their miserable plan of... invasion to the USA, LOL!) How Slovakia could betray an ally who is NOT an ally?

calm down smrtan, come to the dark side and ironman plz
Polska FTW!
@Michal Lodziana 1 : i didnt read all the comments , cause i dont have time for that... But just as long as u make all these farm bots, ull have the money and as long as u keep spending ur RL money ull have gold for attacks.. try to count how much all these attacks in last 15 days costed and all that tanking in Russia etc... swaps and so on...
Sossu, you bring up a lot of goods point about the land swapping that's going on, however, I must agree with others that momentum is still on our side, and I don't want to temp fate cause we barely won WSR. We crippled them and this is the best chance for a breather, especially since congressional elections are coming soon, lets try not to overwork even more our already overworked leaders.
GJ: Indeed I am. On the other hand, I don't have to worry about the financial problems this invasion has caused unlike you, but it looks like we have to refill our coffers for quite some time when moving through WSR alone takes 2k, instead of launching a double attack on Urals and Northern Russia before we retreated from WSR, which had costed like 300G with a serious chance of success and thus creating a more secured position for Poland. They're a sitting duck currently.
I will not deploy myself into the battle zone not because I'm not strong enough, actually I'm one of the best tanks in the world, though since that massification of bots I just like to keep Poland happy.
gonzo >>implying Phoenix never had bots. I lol'ed. This campaign is a three part campaign I would assume. I suspect the second part will begin in a day or two, and pieces need to be set. That takes time.
johnpauljones@ You should read it straight.I said 'massification of bots'.
you hope in vain the mobile army of eRomania will come harder and harder in eden's aid as the time pass and we remain sealed in that cage without a direct war ,just wars to help our allies which don't help romania at all
At the very least, Urals should be taken so that Phoenix has one less source of Iron. We've come so far to stop short of taking that region.
THe swapping was to prevent a RW being started on Russian prime time while we were busy in other battles.
sossu we are liberating hungarian teritories 'cough cough' finnish teritories so we are busy 😉
Sossu, I was hinting at absolutely nothing when I wrote that WHPR. I was merely pointing something out. I don't know our military strategy. My job is just to let people know what is going on as far as OPSEC allows.
I agree with Bradley Reala.
Lets finish of the Red Coats! \o/
Lets finish of the Red Coats x2 x3
to be honest, while I agree with the sentiment of this article, I personally think we should be happy with what we got. we've struck a major blow against the phx many headed snake, just dont forget what happened to the last empire that overextended itself in Russia
(romania)
@St Krems - what about hungary? they can swap and attack Poland in WSR with full mpp's
I would love to wipe eRussia. I'm also quite glad we managed to properly conquer and hold some territories. The plan we followed is almost as rewarding, while being far less risky. That said, it's a game and sometimes the riskiest gambits are the most fun.
"there is a serious of questionable events that have led to unnecessary spending in terms of pointless swaps, mainly in Far Eastern Russia where the region was transferred to China even when USA was already possessing Eastern Siberia and thwarting the attack coming from the Russians."
The ES wasn't safe at all when NK attacked FSR. I think it was a good move. For the rest I agree with you, only regarding the Urals, because I believe the reason of the stand-by is money-wise. WSR with his hospital ate a lot.
Right now we're better off having Russia on the map. Deleting them and removing MPPs against them would be doing them a favor. EDEN&US already conquered 3 most important regions, continuing the campaign wouldn't give us any strategic advantage and we'd just lose money for nothing. The fact Poland is first in line in case Hungary swaps through is true, but neither Poland, China or USA can beat Hungary in direct war without time zone advantage, which we won't have in case they attack, so it doesn't really matter who's holding WSR. Bottom line: we caused economic damage to their economy and improved our own for the time being, that's all we could get from this campaign, since we can't delete Hungarian MPPs. And what's up with identifying yourself as an American, aren't you Finnish? Idk why it bothers me, just seems like a lame way to fit some clique
If your bored... how about invading Indonesia???
Us Australians have been PTOed and we need a little bro love.
what it means in Russian "sosu" ?🙂
Oh, you miserable toads. You're telling me that your plan all along was to "inconvenience" Russia because you don't want to "overcommit"? This is exactly the reason why the eUS never accomplishes anything in this game. Your vision is too limited, and you stop immediately after you've reached your poorly defined goals, just like in the case of Liaoning. The plan was to get titanium? Well, congratulations, numbskulls! Now, what are you going to do in order to keep it if you don't want to finish the fight?
U mad? xD
Hungary can beat Poland 1v1 with mpps easy and can wipe the floor with USA and China, Serbia is the strongest nation in the world right now but we dont have a war with Poland, still we can go through Korea and attack FER and ESR
You cant really stay in Russia...
Bottom line thanks to stupid Polish attack on Hungary no1 is safe in WSR and after that ESR and FER 🙂
China and USA have no activated mpps but are alot weaker then Hungary and have timezone disadvantage when defending
as soon as titanuim runs out we can run over whats left of there military and bots with some ease with our tanks.
Russia PLZ fight back , I'm boring with peace ...
I need more fight 🙁
manifest destruction
Intelligence and Rationality is holding us back...damn them.
Manifest destiny lol
And again we fail to win a war against Russia, just like Napoleon and Hitler did.
@ Ultrakiller
and You probably know what happened to them after initial success 😉
Hail!
But... in the past Poland (rather Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) won the war agains Russia and occuped Russia in 1610 🙂 but we had to fall back becouse of internal Polish disputes and in consequences Russian revolt.
