Vote International, Vote GLD!

Day 1,100, 23:54 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by GLD HQ

Hey eNL!

It has not been a long time since you've heard from us. Just a few days ago our dear little president Paladijn published the following

(copy paste this, somehow it shows up as unauthorized, while our PP really is)

Although some respectable players like Konrad Neumann and Hindrik didn't get it was supposed to be a manifesto 😉 , and seen the title I don't blame them, it was an attempt not only to win your membership, but also your votes! Thus effectively making it a viable manifesto. Still, one very important issue went unmentioned that we of GLD would like to support: the eUnited Netherlands as an international entity.

An international entity? What do you mean by that?
What I mean is that we should attract more foreigners to our country. No, I'm not (necessarily) talking about an invasion of Croatians, but we should worry about making our country attractive for not only Dutch people. 'The Real Life Dutch Web Browser Gaming Community' (TRLDWBG) we have at the moment is far too small to fill an entire nation. Unfortunately baby booms have become the sugar-coated mountains which we long for, but seem unattainable. And we know, GLD has tried it in its existence a couple of unsuccessful times.

So it might be time to expand our views across the borders. Just think back only a few months, when we were still joined with eBelgium. We didn't just have a lot of Belgians in our country, but also people from America, Spain, Israel, France, Germany, you name it. Wouldn't it be pretty great to build something like that up again? Except for maybe the union of course...

Alright, alright, you got me convinced, foreigners are fun. But, I bet you don't have good concrete plans on how to reach this goal, am I right?
WELL GUESS AGAIN, MISTER! Even we did a tiny bit of thinking. The main point in our plan is to be expecte😛 Language. And don't go 'We are a bilingual country' me. Dutch has been dominating more and more over time! I'll give you a few examples. When I got elected into Congress I tried to join the Congress usergroup but couldn't find it. It's renamed to 'Parlement' and holds a Dutch description. So does the 'eNL Burgers' group. Not very inviting to those who don't speak Dutch, I'd say. And when I opened my newspaper this morning, I was welcomed by this article. It seems that R&C has not been publishing in English for the last month or so. Not blaming anyone here, but it's something that requires our attention.

Okay, we've got language so far. And...?
Of course, language isn't all. Once we made our country a little more inviting to outsiders, we should spread the word. We have a lot to promote about. We are a fun community, have an open political system for old and new players and have an economical system that's not entirely dominated by far too big companies. A lot of foreigners will appear to be more reachable than you would think, a lot of them are fed up by their country and community and will welcome a change in the small and cosy community of the eNL.

On that note, I'll end my article. Although it is quite personally tainted, I did write this in name of the complete GLD for we all feel this way.
So vote for an international Netherlands, vote Green Liberal Democrats.
