Victory in Mississippi, and an Apology to Dear Friends

Day 492, 03:40 Published in USA USA by Bill Brasky

Mississippi, as the polls closed early this morning I was very pleased to see you had selected me to represent you for a second term in Congress. I want to thank you, and I promise to keep up my same level of activity as I had last term (voting on every single proposal, and keeping active in the eUSA forums), and the same dedication to you, my constituents. I would also like to give my respects to Time, my opponent in this race. We never spoke, but it was a clean race regardless, and I have to respect that.

While I should be celebrating my victory and be happy right now, I have a heavy heart. I was recently appointed as the Congressional Party Chairman for the Federalist Party by our new party president, Gaius Julius. I was in charge of selecting the candidates for the Federalist Party, and helping to get them elected.

Unfortunately, I have failed at this job.

My dear friend Voltare, who ran a clean race in Utah, did not win. Indeed, he tied Robert S. Miller, and as such lost by 64 experience points. While I can point to many things that lost Voltare this race (Robert’s 5 vote surge ½ hour before the polls closed, oversleeping voters, etc .etc.) the blame must eventually fall completely on me, and I accept this. My fellow Federalists I hope you can forgive me for this failure, and even if you don’t, know you are my friends forever.

Voltare, I am sorry.

You are my dear friend in this game and I have enormous respect for you. You put your trust in me and I let you down when it mattered most. I can only hope for your forgiveness. You deserve better.

So what does all this mean? I’m taking a step back from eRepublik for a couple days. I need to re-evaluate where I’m going in this country, in my beloved Federalist Party, and in this game. I know I need to rededicate myself to the Mentorship Program before I lose control of it completely, and I need to earn back the respect of my fellow Federalists. I’ve let a couple of people down right in a row, and it has gotten to me, so I need to take a step back from eRep at the moment.

I’ll still be voting on proposals, and working/training, but beyond that, I’ll be away from eRepublik. I just need to clear my head for a little bit. Thank you for understanding Mississippi, Congress, and Federalists.

Mississippi, thank you for re-electing me, I won’t let you down.
