Why the USWP failed to score a landslide
Kerat
The Congress Elections of March 25 are over and the winners were announced.
At first glance, one can easily note that no clear winners emerged from the elections.
In terms of seats, USWP came first with 14 seats, closely followed by the Conservatives and AAP with 12 and 11 seats. UIP and the Liberals share the remaining seats with 8 and 6 respectively.
However, when digging deeper into the results, we realize that USWP winning candidates tallied 548 votes, while the winning candidates of the 4 other parties together totalled only 331 votes.
What does that mean
Obviously, the USWP is the strongest party in the eUSA; however, their base is restricted to the populous states. USWP candidate is Florida won with 226 votes, while the CP winner in KY won only with 4 votes.
A word to USWP
If the USWP wants to win next elections, they need to target smaller states and win voters in these states, for winning Florida, New York and California translates only into 3 seats, just as winning Alabama, Iowa and Kentucky,
Comments
Kentucky will remaiin my state until I die.
Rhane, I am not saying otherwise; but it is to note that you won with 4 votes only, maybe you need to bring more people loyal to you to the state 🙂
LOL what a nice little point, so relevant.
Voted.
Not Liberals, Libertarians.
USWP also have the lowest activity percentage out of all top 5 parties.
Yea DF, we also have twice the membership of the second largest party. I'm just shocked at how many inactive people there are. Shocked, I say!
I crunched the numbers on the election and it was interesting how things worked out.
Percentage of total vote with change (in percentage form last election)
USWP 37% +7%
CP 20% -2%
LIB 16% -8%
UIP 14% +3%
AAP 14% 0%
From this it would look like USWP should be the big winner of the election and the libertarians the big losers, but look at seats gained and lost
USWP 14 -2
CON 12 0
AAP 11 0
LIB 6 -1
UIP 8 +3
Despite getting a large increase in the vote USWP actually lost seats. The biggest gains were made bye the UIP which only had a modest vote gain.
It is also interesting to note that certain parties get a lot more house seats for there votes, particularly the AAP.
You should probably wait for the 6th party candidates to leave the parties they ran in and go back to their party. For example the CvP is losing me as a member because I'm a Nationalist Party memeber. The AAP I feel will be hit worst by this.
Excellent point Kyle, as most of the top 5 parties regularly endorse smaller party candidates in various regions, yesterday was actually a very solid day for USWP as most, if not all, of the congressional delegation will not be leaving the USWP to caucus with other parties. Though I am not a fan of the Top 5 only candidacy system, I think it is critical to evaluate its impact on any election analysis. All in all, a solid showing all around, and a great 16th Congress for the eUS. Good article, voted.
+1 for great justice
