Editorial Note ~ The USA hasn't changed

Their attitude is the same as it was 5 months ago. Two months of occupation taught them nothing. Just take a look at the comments in this article written by American Zanmor. I see many reminders of the first few days after the UK joined PEACE. This young US citizen had the dignity to fight for Japan against EDEN because he judged the attack to be morally wrong. He had his own opinion and his own morals. For that he is now being chastised and hounded from the country.

You guys are just awesome. I for one, welcome Zanmor to move to the UK. We treat our citizens with respect. Regardless of their moral decisions.

So I went for my dinner this evening (GMT) and when I came back, this awesome news graced my eRepublik home: Kyushu has been secured by Japan. It seems that EDEN was unable to win against the combined might of the fresh PHOENIX alliance. This newspaper has the latest update for battle statistics.

This won't be a long article since there isn't a lot to say other than (and I apologise for the severe immaturity):

LOL FAIL!

There are two schools of thought as to why the US lost in Japan. The first is that the coordinated attacks of EDEN couldn't match up to the versatile mobile troops of PHOENIX. The other is that EDEN abandoned the US in Kyushu, either because they disagreed with the attack (unlikely) or they decided against wasting Gold trying to tank such a substantial wall, especially against retaliating PHOENIX forces. The US contributed a considerable portion of the damage (2 million) for it's side, supported mainly by Croatia (755k), Spain (457k), Poland (358k) and Romania (250k); while on the side of Japan, the damage was distributed across Hungary (1.64 million), Russia (1.2 million), Serbia (576k), Indonesia (333k) and Japan (279k). This shows superior mobility and strength from the PHOENIX side in contrast to past PEACE operations. The breath of life in this new alliance is astounding. The battle ended with a wall of +63K.

The USA would be wise to withdraw it's troops and sue for peace with Japan, save they have to suffer another humiliation.

In other, not so celebratory news, the UK lost the war at Pennsylvania to Canada. The resistance war was secured seconds before though. No real worry since the UK isn't planning on a long stay in the US mainland and the victories yesterday were only down to US strategic retreats.

That wraps things up again. Thanks for reading, unfortunately I didn't get around to finding some good papers for the newspaper plug but I'll get twice as many for the next issue.

The next issue of Informed Voices will cover.. something. I don't know what yet but hopefully the USA will give me some content. 🙂

Until next time, thanks for reading. Please vote and subscribe. 🙂
