Unprofessional Moment with Oblige

On December 30th, Oblige had asked for our parties endorsement (Bastards of Liberty) for his reelection this upcoming month. We told him we would consider his endorsement after our party had finished it's endorsement primary vote (giving a fair and free choice to the other candidates running for office).
By January 2nd the vote was finished - Oblige received only 1 vote with Sir Gulden Draak winning with 55% overall.
I want to share with you the what happened in our forums as a result.

I'm taking this opportunity to formally announce my candidacy for President, and that I'd like to secure the Bastards of Liberty's nomination in that endeavor.

The "Remix" article was purely an announcement. I wasn't able to participate in some party primaries until I had a formal article up, and since I wasn't planning on releasing my cabinet until this evening and my platform article until tomorrow, I needed a placeholder article if you will.
@Emperor Rick, civility is the tone of my administration and as you can tell by JCS led Military / Government relations, that has been at an all time high this administration. You've also probably noticed the dramatic lack of trolling articles and comments. I/R/T Pfeiffer he's actually been fairly tame this month.

He really is a mock candidate. He's only running because you endorsed him.
Some would argue (myself included) that if you have no chance of winning you're a mock candidate, but that's personal preference.

Well that's just ridiculous, just because you're the underdog in the run, doesn't make you a useless candidate. I actually believe making a run for CP even if you don't really have much of a chance to win, will get you some popularity anyway and i don't mean the popularity that you're a loser, I mean just regular slightly positive or atleast neutral popularity that you have the balls to try or make a go for the fuck of it. So I don't really see how any of us should be embarrassed to endorse him. Or how the fuck he himself should be embarrassed and taking it only as "meh". Its a big thing even to decide to run and get an endorsement.
Ofcourse its best to win and its all about winning, but theres no shame in not winning when you atleast tried.

Well I figure I should probably post in this thread. Yes, my run did start as somewhat of a joke. However, I received unexpected support from the Bastards, and several others who PM'd me expressing that I should make a serious go. After receiving the nomination from this party, I decided to make a serious go of it. I am not a mock candidate. If elected, though a long shot, I plan to do my best as President. Was this the only party to nominate me? Yes. However, I want to make it clear that I did try to garner support from others as well, I do not want this party to feel like they have wasted their nomination, or that they have somehow been duped by me.
Am I the favorite to win this election? Absolutely not, I would be foolish to think so as Oblige has locked up 4 of the top 5 party nominations. However, this does no mean that this run is a waste of time. I feel that I am really the only serious contender to Oblige, as Pizza is off his rocker. Oblige and I are different, so citizens wanting a little something different this month may be inclined to vote for me. The odds are not in my favor, but I do feel it will be surprising how many votes I get. I do aim to be CP one day, and I will always look back on this moment as the Bastards gave me my first chance to be on a CP ballot.
In closing, rest assured Bastard's, you did not waste your nomination. Though the odds are long, I want to win and will try my best to do so. You all were not duped into supporting a mock candidate.

We wouldn't feel duped even if your bid for PotUS was in jest. We all read the platforms and it was pointed out yours wasn't serious, you won the vote anyways. I guess you just inspire hope in the face of hilarity.
If you have any lists of folks I should mail send me a PM in game. Any up-to-date tools that could make it easier would be nice too.
Otherwise I'll see what I can do in other ways to help out.

Oblige, I don't know who you are because I took an 14 month break from the game, but you seem extremely ignorant.
I won't say much because alot was already said... but I wasn't a Sir Gulden Draak supporter until after reading the comments and replies posted here. Not happy with the answer to my Q and the smug response to the POTUS Primary Vote.
Very disappointed overall....
I won't tell you all how to vote, but you should be aware of who our President nominees are.

Its a farking popularity contest. Nothing more. Consider this.. being ePresident is a time consuming job. Shit, its time consuming just be be in a friking militia or party with all the articles, posts, and chats. The primary job of the ePres is to keep himself in the public eye with catchy articles, overused internet memes, and the continual quest for the perfect avatar and border. It leaves one to ponder, how can you honestly support a person who actively pursues the presidency? You don't become a leader by playing this silly game. So, at the end of the day, do you want to vote for the flavor of the month, do you want to vote for a guy who will provide the best entertainment, or, do you simply want the 2XP? And, yes, there is a wrong answer, unless of course, you enjoy being a sycophantic sheep!
Joseph Dinero: Oblige definitely comes off as cocky, but that's just part of his personality. Personally, I like Draak and would have liked to see him really try at this, but if he started his campaign as a joke, then it was just that. I don't think it was unprofessional for Oblige to say he's not a serious candidate.
Suriat, no one disputes that the country has been in a good position this past month, but going off what Eli said the president only has so much power. Going back on what I said about speaking out against childish behavior however I'd like a person to SPEAK OUT against the trolls. Whether or not this changes anything is one thing but turning a blind eye is another. On top of this, oblige had a childish moment because 1 small party didn't endorse him. He could have been the bigger man and said thank you for considering me and left it at that.
Why would he thank you for considering him when you didn't consider him? You chose a candidate who didn't intend on really running until you officially endorsed him. You chose someone in your party just because he's in your party, you didn't choose the better candidate. In other words, you snubbed Oblige, you didn't consider him.

LOL - Eli - Gulden wasn't even in our party. We liked what his platform said. I honestly have nothing against Oblige except his attitude, but he couldn't even put up a copy of his old platform with some adjustments. He did the same MEH as Gulden did, just in a different way.

Eli we did consider him we told our members to read through everyone's campaign platform and voted. Oblige wasn't picked.

He can't really think he's the sole choice. I would have ran if I had the time. I doubt I'd win because most ppl don't know me well and Fluffnut would send his multi army to vote against me. Had I known there was no "opposition" I would have asked to run under my party. I just joined therejoined the Feds anyway after a brief stint in eIndia so I doubt they'd run me anyway. So now was not the time. I can assure you though I will make a go at it in the very near future.
Chance, the Feds would have put you into our Primary.
