Spring is Beautiful

It's springtime and the elections are in full bloom.

Through a crazy series of events, I've somehow ended up on the ePOTUS ballot as a blocker candidate. UIP's real endorsed candidate is Woxan, as you can read here.

It all began when Owner of the New World Order party was declared a serious PTO threat. Not wanting a PTOer, regardless of the nation from which he originally hailed, to make it onto the ballot, I mailed the Party Presidents of the big parties (any party bigger than NWO), making sure they knew of the threat. Some of them had already been planning together on how to avert it, which was good, but I just wanted to make sure no one had the excuse of ignorance in this case.

Anyway, I can tell I'm already making this story too long, so suffice it to say that:

1) I half-jokingly offered my services as a blocker to the United Independents Party (UIP), a party I've grown attached to over the many months,

2) S.E.E.S. did some mass-mailing and maneuvering to keep both Owner and Michael Collins (a Phoenixer who had become S.E.E.S. Party President when Emerick went to fight abroad) off the final ballot,

3) both the Feds (Trick246) and UIP (Astra Kat G) ran blocker candidates,

4) the DemReps endorsed CivilAnarchy as a candidate so that the Small Party Union and Socialist Freedom Party member could keep his much-publicized run for POTUS and...

5) keeping Pizza The Hut (despite his last-minute massive recruiting spree for the Republican Party) off the ballot just ended up being icing on the cake.

...because the United Independents Party is just cool like that.

It seems appropriate that my goals would disappear, as they did the last time I was running. In hindsight, it probably wasn't smart of me to put up goals as a blocker, but I just wanted to see them work, for once. No such luck.

My three goals were a population increase and economic boost of 7% (what? I like the number 7!) and owning Inner Mongolia and Liaoning, both of which are currently occupied by eSerbia, more to get eSerbia out of eChina than for eUSA's own personal conquest. Though I'm not sure what we'd do with them if we had them, as it's obvious eChina won't be able to hold onto them without monstrous MPPs.

More than just Bros in the Brolliance, there are a fair number of Sisters as well.

Chatting with politicians on EDEN.

Though I've all but retired from the game these days, I still pay attention to the news from time to time.

And, of course, because everyone is these days, I'd like to weigh in briefly on eUS's decision to leave EDEN. Here's another published today about EDEN, proving that I'm not alone in still thinking about these things, hah.

I wasn't in favor of joining EDEN in the first place, but I can't say for sure whether I'd have voted to join it at the time, if I'd still been in Congress. At the time, it really did seem like our best choice, judging by what I saw with my last few extra days of private Congressional board access.

The political landscape of EDEN, as well as the military one, have changed dramatically since then. Our decision to expand the Brolliance in place of EDEN might be seen as traitorous by our EDEN friends, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that coddling fragile EDEN egos is nothing new to eUSA. Frankly, the way I see it, the directions in which the Brolliance has been expanding reflect the interests we've been pursuing as a nation for months now.

The Brolliance expanding now is simply us being honest about how our national priorities have changed over the past few months. And as much as I'd like to see each and every of our longtime EDEN friends understand and respect that, I remain unconvinced that we won't, at some point perhaps in the near future, have to face off against the likes of ePoland, eSpain, eCroatia, or eRomania due to conflicting interests.

So while leaving EDEN is risky, I think remaining embroiled in European interests, remaining stagnant as a nation, is even more risky. Just look at our old foe ePortugal -- what've they done recently?

That said, eUSA is no world superpower. We can't just carve out any path we like without the help of strong allies. We'll need cooperation from EDEN if we're to oust Phoenix from Asia, because you can sure as heck bet that eSerbia will have eHungary and eRussia on their side.

Thus, eUSA faces an uncertain future, making this ePOTUS election a pivotal one. I suggest you look up what each of the candidates have to say about Foreign Relations and War, because this is definitely going to be a month where eUSA has to make tough calls on those fronts.

Robo-Cop wants you to move to Karnataka! ...yes, this is an extremely old graphic.

Permit me a small public service announcement: Move to Karnataka using the Flying Unicorn Squadron service.

Wise voting this April, America,
