Insert Ad Hoc Milton Reference (EDEN)

Day 865, 04:47 Published in USA USA by Gnaeus Progenitor

Following the departure from EDEN, the eU.S.A. is in a bit of a transition state. The building of the Brolliance is taking place - as well as the mending of bridges.

Leaving EDEN provides us the dichotomy of more freedom in the way of alliances and less protection from a multinational defense network. We are a boat [on a boat] sailing away from protected waters to uncharted lands - with hopefully enough citrus so no one gets scurvy.

I had advocated to stay in EDEN, initially. I wrote a top notch article about it. But then I had my hopes of reform dashed. I wanted to loosen the constraints of the Alliance, lower the member fees, and change up the leadership. My position on EDEN hinged on the potential for a reformation. Without that, my stance changed.

Are we better off? Who knows? In this chaotic and complex game - every move is a risk.

I respect our EDEN comrades for our achievements against PEACE / Phoenix. I hope to maintain a cordial relationship with Poland, Spain, Romania, [in particular] Croatia, and the rest of the EDEN members. I hope EDEN does not take this as a slap in the face, because it isn't. America wants and needs tactical flexibility in its multiple theatres across the Erepublik map.

This is about working with people and not just working with tactics [however, I personally would prefer it to be about the latter]. We may be taking two separate roads, but they both lead to the same destination of defeating Phoenix, and both sides should remember that. We have worked together before we were in EDEN - we can work together after EDEN.

Sure there are advantages and good arguments to be made for staying with or leaving EDEN - this is why so many articles and so much debate has occurred surrounding the issue. I for one respect the congressmen who wished to stay. I was among them once. However, I have stopped dreaming of reform, and started a new dream of forging a new path which will lead to our success. This game will go on with or without us in EDEN; and this resilient country [and its allies] will continue to wage war against our foes.

That last part sounded like propaganda; is this propaganda?

Adieu,
Gnaeus

P.S. Word of the day is "cashness" which can be found in Sydiot's recent article.

P.P.S. I realize [realise, for some] that this is an EDEN / foreign policy article, which makes it outdated and unexciting upon it's publication. S.u.c.k. i.t. T.r.e.b.e.k.
