Thoughts on the Presidential Election

Day 1,657, 18:55 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Lincoln

Hello again everyone! As I continue to sway back and forth between two clicker land and being fully active I’ve decided to give my thoughts on the U.S. Presidential Election. Things have certainly changed since I left and almost all policy positions are based around war. Nevertheless there are still differences in style and substance between the five candidates.

The “Insider"
Israel Stevens is campaigning through the American Military Party and is viewed as the favorite for this election. He has the endorsement of the political powerhouse USWP along with two minor parties. Israel has held a number of positions including Party President of the AMP, Vice President of the United States, three terms as a Congressman, and a large number of executive cabinet and military positions. Mr. Stevens is also the author of the wildly popular “Allied War Report” with over 1,000 subscribers. He is focused on re-establishing Germany in Europe, removing the Serbs from Italy, and increasing involvement in government. Stevens is largely seen as the establishment candidate with the support of the two largest and most organized parties in the country.

The “Veteran”
Cromstar is running on the Federalist Party platform and is by far the most veteran politico in the group of candidates. He’s served in a number of political and military positions includingg: twenty-two terms in Congress, multiple terms as Speaker of the House, multiple terms as a top 5 Party President, White House Chief of Staff, Executive Officer of the Army, and National Security Council Member.

Despite Cromstar’s extensive experience, he was only able to grab the top five support of the Federalist Party along with three minor parties including the seventh ranked CvP. While Cromstar doesn’t have as large of a media base as Israel, his newspaper “The Watch Tower” is still fairly popular with over three-hundred subscribers. While he hasn’t released an official Presidential platform it should be noted that he pledges an increase of 4% GDP and the control of multiple regions.

The “Populist”
Gloveislove, aka Glove, is supported by the U.S. Marijuana Party and endorsed by six minor parties. Glove’s original account was banned by the admins under controversial circumstances and now he has returned under his current name. He’s served as a two term Country President, five time Congressman, Terra HQ Leader, Secretary of State, and IES Director among other government and political positions throughout his career. Glove has brought some controversy due to his populist message and his disdain for “elites” by not allowing insiders such as Pfeiffer into his proposed administration.

It should also be noted that Glove is largely blamed for the only wiping of the United States due to his actions at the end of his second term. He is also a media powerhouse due to his eight hundred and eighty eight subscribers while only six months into his new account. The populist also has the full support of Marijuana Party President and six time media mogul chickensguys. Glove looks to create a more transparent government while including younger players and strengthening our ties with foreign allies.

The “Rebel”
General Cartman Lee,aka Ajay Bruno/Pizza The Hut, is running under the Republican Party and endorsed by four other minor political parties. Lee has had a long and controversial career in politics and has served multiple terms as a Congressman and Party President under different accounts. He was blacklisted by the eUS government quite a while ago and is viewed with consistent suspicion by Federal Government officials. This is due to his “open immigration” policy stance, refusal to comply with the FEC, and alleged incidents of multiple.

Despite these incidents, Lee has over 1,700 subscribers to his newspaper and has the support of the sixth largest party in the nation. While many are opposed to his candidacy, the “Rebel” has the support of political outsiders, a number of immigrants, and citizens who support his conservative cause. Lee was also recently banned by the admins but “vindicated” and unbanned a day later. If Lee is has strong support on election day there will most certainly be an effort to support a unity candidate for POTUS. However with the large amount of major candidates running and the anti-elitist stance of Glove, it is unknown what ramifications this will have in his campaign for President.

The “Lulz"
ElmieJr is supported by none other than the ElmieJr Party. This player isn’t as well known politically as the other candidates but has served four terms in Congress. Although he has over 270 subscribers to his newspaper he has not published an article since day 1,657 and likewise has not given an official presidential platform. Still he has pledged to increase our population and GDP by 1% and keep all of our current regions. Even though Elmie is considered a long shot and a “lulz” candidate, it seems only fair to include him in my analysis. Besides who doesn’t love Elmo?

I hope you enjoyed my article on the candidates for the Presidential election. I tried to be as neutral as possible and limit the amount of commentary given. I’ve been disappointed with the amount of politics in erepublik since by departure and I’m looking to increase our political activity. I’m looking to re-create the Synergy polls and to provide non-biased polling on current public figures and the political issues of our country. If anyone is interested in helping me with this project please let me know.
